Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 970: 969 You came to see me Chapter 970: 969 You came to see me Luo Haofeng threw down his phone, got out of bed, and strode over to yank open the door. He glared at Qi Meiling with a dark expression, “Qi Meiling, if you disturb me again, just roll back to your own home.”

“Brother Haofeng.”

Qi Meiling, frightened by his roar, immediately teared up, her grip tightening on the cold medicine in her hand: “I know you hate me and are trying every means to drive me away. But I love you, no matter how fierce you are to me, I won’t leave you.”

After speaking, she forced the cold medicine into his hand and turned to return to her own room next to his.

Luo Haofeng bitterly pursed his lips and hurled the cold medicine into the hallway with force, slamming the door shut with a bang before returning to his bed and redialing Mo Xiuchen’s number.

Mo Xiuchen expected Luo Haofeng to call and was waiting in his study, not yet asleep.

“Did you send your admirer away?”

He spoke casually with a mix of three parts teasing and two parts pity, making Luo Haofeng feel utterly frustrated. Grinding his teeth on the other end of the phone, he said coldly, “Mo Xiuchen, I’m thinking of following your lead.”

On hearing this, Mo Xiuchen straightened in his chair, a flicker of surprise crossing his deep eyes, “Are you sure about this?”

Ah Feng’s situation was, after all, different from his.

Initially, he wanted to destroy MS Group because he hated Mo Jingteng for causing his mother’s death and harming the woman he loved. Even so, he had relented the first time, and it wasn’t until later, when Mo Jingteng took advantage of his amnesia to force Ranran to divorce him, that he went through with it.

“Hmm, I’ve thought it through. If I end up tied to Qi Meiling in the end, I might as well destroy…”

After listening to Luo Haofeng’s analysis of the current situation, Mo Xiuchen’s brow furrowed. He advised, “Don’t be too hasty. Based on the current state of affairs, it might not come to that. It’s only been a few months since you returned to the company, and the progress you’ve made is already commendable.”

“But as long as Qi Meiling lives in my house, I feel uneasy.”

Luo Haofeng spoke with vexation, troubled to death by Qi Meiling. No matter how vicious he was to her, after her initial sadness, she would brighten up again, asking after him with a warm smile.

“Are you afraid of being forced, or afraid you won’t be able to control yourself?”

“Did you just say something about Xiaoxiao?”

Luo Haofeng cursed inwardly and shifted the subject with his question.

“She encountered a robbery in D Country. I’ve already asked Secretary Wu to check on her. According to Ranran, fortunately, someone happened to pass by and saved her; the assailants didn’t injure her.”

Mo Xiuchen briefed everything succinctly, but it sent Luo Haofeng’s heart racing with alarm. Bai Xiaoxiao had rarely contacted him during the past few months, and on the few occasions she did call, they barely exchanged a few words before hanging up.

“Mo Xiuchen, that’s it for now, I’m hanging up.”

Luo Haofeng hung up the phone in a rush, as if his cold had miraculously healed with his concern for Bai Xiaoxiao, and immediately dialed his secretary to book a flight to D Country for tonight.

After tossing his phone aside, he got out of bed to get dressed.

D Country

When Bai Xiaoxiao stepped out of the school gates and laid eyes on the man standing in the sunlight at a short distance, her eyes widened in shock.

A blonde classmate at her side gave her a suggestive smile, said goodbye, and turned to leave. Bai Xiaoxiao took a deep breath and tried to calm herself before stepping forward toward Luo Haofeng.

Luo Haofeng stood with his hands in his pockets, his handsome features and tall, upright figure drawing the gaze of countless women. However, his eyes were fixed only on Bai Xiaoxiao, clad in a white down jacket, inspecting her closely.

“Why are you here?”

Bai Xiaoxiao asked as she approached, with the cold wind blowing across her face and tossing her hair onto it.

Luo Haofeng pursed his lips silently, lifted his hand, and his long fingers carefully tucked the blown strands of hair behind her ear. He then tightened her scarf and forcefully grasped her hand, frowning as he said, “Why are your hands so cold?”

“The temperature has dropped significantly these past few days. Are you here on a business trip?”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s body stiffened slightly, but she did not struggle, allowing his warm palm to enclose her cool hand. Having not seen him for a while, he had lost weight again.

“I haven’t eaten yet, let’s find a place to eat, and we can talk while we eat.” Luo Haofeng finished speaking, felt a tickle in his throat, and couldn’t help coughing, loosening the grip on her hand.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s brows furrowed upon seeing this and she asked, staring at the coughing Luo Haofeng, “Do you have a cold?”

“Yeah, just a small cold, it’s nothing serious.”

Luo Haofeng stopped coughing and smiled reassuringly.

“Come to my apartment, I have cold medicine there.”

Back at the apartment, Bai Xiaoxiao immediately took out some cold medicine and poured warm water for Luo Haofeng. “Take the medicine first, I’ll cook some porridge and stir-fry a couple of green vegetables.”

“Xiaoxiao, I’ll help you.”

Luo Haofeng quickly took the medicine and entered the kitchen.

Bai Xiaoxiao had already started the porridge and was washing vegetables. Hearing his words, she turned her head and looked at him indifferently, “You rest for a bit; it’ll be ready soon.”

“It’s just a minor cold; it’s okay.”

“I don’t need your help,” Bai Xiaoxiao said with a stern face, showing her displeasure.

A warm feeling welled up in Luo Haofeng’s heart, and his lips curved into a brilliant smile, “Xiaoxiao, then I’ll just stay here and talk to you. It’s rare for me to make it to D Country to see you, and I don’t want to waste time resting.”

At those words, Bai Xiaoxiao’s movements halted, and she turned to look at him inquisitively, “You aren’t here on business?”

“I came to see you, and to deal with some things here incidentally. Xiaoxiao, Mo Xiuchen told me that you ran into trouble a few days ago, and I’ve been worried.”

Luo Haofeng honestly confessed his purpose for visiting.

“So, you already had a cold before you boarded the plane.” Bai Xiaoxiao blinked, her brows knitting together tightly.

“Hmm.”

Luo Haofeng nodded.

“Either go rest on the sofa or sleep in my room, but don’t stay here and get in the way.” Bai Xiaoxiao suddenly dropped the vegetables in her hand, not minding that her hands were still wet, and directly pushed Luo Haofeng out of the kitchen.

“Xiaoxiao, don’t be angry; I’ll go rest,” Luo Haofeng’s complexion changed, and he hurriedly promised. Under her watchful eye, he chose to sleep in her room.

Watching him enter the room, Bai Xiaoxiao then returned to the kitchen to wash the vegetables. A gentle smile appeared on her face, which had been angry just moments before, and feelings of tenderness filled her heart.

She hadn’t told Luo Haofeng because she didn’t want him to worry about her. Little did she expect Ranran would tell him, and that fool Luo Haofeng, even with a cold, had still come to see her.

Half an hour later, Bai Xiaoxiao brought the dishes to the table, served the porridge, and went to call Luo Haofeng in the room. She saw him sleeping soundly, hugging the crystal photo frame that she usually kept on the bedside table in his arms.

In her heart, a string seemed to be gently plucked by an invisible hand, and immediately a surge of indescribable emotions spread through her limbs.

“Xiaoxiao.”

“Hmm…”

Bai Xiaoxiao intended to remove the crystal photo frame that Luo Haofeng was holding to his chest, but unexpectedly, as she reached for the frame, he pulled her down on top of him. Though he appeared to be asleep, when she fell onto him, he rolled over, pinning her beneath him, and kissed her with an overwhelming intensity.
