Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 182: Chapter 151: The Beginning of the Scandal

Song Chi never felt he was as formidable as the rumors claimed. If he were, why would Su Yan still be staying in the hospital under the pretense of treatment rather than returning to the film set?

They were not strangers to the hospital and knew perfectly well that Su Yan only had minor skin injuries that could be simply treated.

There was no concussion at all.

Still, Su Yan’s fans were making a fuss, acting as if Song Chi had become a behind-the-scenes big shot who, along with the producer, was bullying their poor little white flower Su Yan. They claimed he didn’t even ensure her safety, and was arrogant to boot, pressuring her to return to the set to film as soon as she was hospitalized.

Who knows who fabricated these messages, yet so many people believed them.

To date, the film crew had not once hurried Su Yan to come back.

Both Kang Xin and Song Chi tacitly agreed that under the current circumstances, letting Su Yan wait a bit would be beneficial for the later stages of filming.

Besides, with Zhou Yun being here, the production wouldn’t come to a halt.

They had rescheduled Zhou Yun’s scenes to shoot them from morning until night.

Zhou Yun said to Zhou Lan, ”I think I’ll be wrapping up my scenes ahead of schedule.”

”That’s great news! So much time saved. You might wrap up by the end of the year, just in time for the awards ceremonies and parties. Weibo has already contacted me about your schedule,” replied Zhou Lan. ”They want to ensure your attendance at this year’s grand event, and they even arranged an award for you.”

”What award could it be? Either a Popularity Award or a Newcomer Award,” said Zhou Yun, who hadn’t been in the entertainment circle for long, but had been paying attention to it for many years. ”The substantial awards are given to the big names.”

”But it’s still an award from Weibo! Think about the exposure. Moreover, being on good terms with them benefits you way more than just receiving an award,” commented Zhou Lan. ”Another thing, He Yong sent over several scripts, all from Chengqian Film and Television, for you to star in. I accepted them all and will send them to you later for you to see which one you’d like to do.”

”Sister Lan, have you looked at them? How are they?” Zhou Yun inquired.

”They’re all quite decent, big productions. While there are no extraordinary scripts, they aren’t the low-quality ones from before. My personal favorite is one titled ’Luoyan,’ which is a Fantasy genre. It’s not the usual master-disciple heartache story that spans three lifetimes; the plot is rather artistic. The female lead is a perfume maker who one day finds a man at death’s door. She brings him home to nurse his wounds, only for him to try to kill her when he recovers,” explained Zhou Lan. ”I’ve read the first ten episodes of the script, which is full of twists, and the story is compelling. The person you think is the male lead isn’t, and a character who you think is just a passerby becomes significant later on.”

”That sounds quite interesting,” Zhou Yun remarked.

”Yes, and it’s an original script written by a novelist,” added Zhou Lan.

”Then I’ll take a good look at it.”

Zhou Lan continued, ”There’s also a number of shows inquiring about you. I haven’t made any decisions yet; we’ll discuss further when I visit the set.”

”When will you come to the set?”

”This Thursday,” said Zhou Lan.

”Okay.”

”Oh, there’s one more thing,” Zhou Lan suddenly remembered. ”These past few days, He Yong has been probing me, hinting around as if he’s worried about you leaving the agency. He also asked if you’ve been in contact with anyone.”

”He finally noticed,” Zhou Yun reflected. ”A few days ago, Luo Zhiqiu from Zuo Jing approached me offering a contract buy-out fee, wanting to poach me to Zuo Jing.”

”Luo Zhiqiu? Did you agree?” Zhou Lan asked.

”How could I agree? However, I think it’s a good opportunity to remind He Yong. I’ve been under contract with the agency for so long and he’s become too complacent, lacking any sense of urgency, always lining up low-grade work for me. Having Luo Zhiqiu approach me is a perfect warning for him.”

Zhou Lan was left speechless for a moment.

Sometimes, she found the twenty-three-year-old Zhou Yun to be even more thoughtful than herself.

...

Staying on the set for filming can be very monotonous.

Actors, unless they genuinely love acting and enjoy the process, could find it excruciating.

These days, Zhou Yun’s scenes were scheduled back-to-back, from morning to night.

The key reason they could do this was because they could only film three scenes here, and since Su Yan went to the hospital, her scenes couldn’t be filmed, so they concentrated on filming Zhou Yun’s scenes first.
