Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 145: Chapter 128_3: The Beginning of the Scandal

”After you join more crews, you’ll get used to it,” Zhou Lan said.

Zhou Yun: ”Why does it sound like I’m inexperienced and making a fuss?”

Zhou Lan: ”What else?”

”Forget it, I’ve realized you just can’t understand me, I’m hanging up,” said Zhou Yun.

”If you go talk to Song Chi about it, Song Chi won’t think it’s a big deal either,” Zhou Lan knew her intent to contact Song Chi as soon as she heard Zhou Yun.

It was unknown when Zhou Yun had started to have such frequent and close contact with Song Chi.

As an agent, Zhou Lan naturally hoped this relationship would last as long as possible, but on the other hand, Zhou Lan always felt something was off.

Zhou Yun: ”I’d be crazy to discuss this with Song Chi.”

How embarrassing.

After hanging up, Zhou Yun went to take a shower, put on a face mask, and checked Weibo.

The number of people insulting her had noticeably decreased in the past few days.

Zhou Yun didn’t open her private messages or look at her own comments; she just checked the trending searches. Finding nothing surprising, she logged off Weibo.

Unlike most young people, Zhou Yun didn’t like tweeting on Weibo.

It had nothing to do with her job; she had never liked using Weibo.

When her company signed her, they specifically checked her Weibo for any ’dark history’ to be deleted, and as a result, Zhou Yun had only tweeted a few times.

Zhou Lan sent Zhou Yun a message about her schedule for the coming weeks.

On Friday, she had the premiere ceremony of ”After the Scandal”, and she wouldn’t return to the crew until Saturday.

She also had a meeting planned with Director Kang.

After the variety show went live, there would probably be a lot of work.

Zhou Yun would have preferred to stay with the crew and not go out, but her company wouldn’t agree to that.

The company needed her to make money; they wouldn’t let her turn down all those gigs.

An incident in June had already caused her to take a break from work.

Zhou Yun charged her phone, turned off the lights, and went to sleep.

...

It was unclear how the crew negotiated with Zhen Xiaoxiao; when Zhen Xiaoxiao appeared on the set again, she was all smiles and proud, even treating everyone in the crew to milk tea as if nothing had happened.

Zhou Yun noticed the director’s expression; it was also very normal as if nothing happened.

It seemed like Zhen Xiaoxiao’s threat to leave just blew over.

It was unknown how she negotiated with the crew.

On the other hand, Yu Yhan also underwent significant change.

She was like a transformed person, becoming silent on set and had started earnestly learning her lines.

At least when Zhou Yun and Yu Yhan acted together, Yu Yhan basically didn’t flub her lines anymore.

While Zhou Yun curiously observed Yu Yhan, she was also curious about Gu Huaichun and Yu Yhan. But these two hardly interacted on set, not even exchanging ambiguous glances; it was hard to believe that they had slept together.

Zhou Yun dared not speak about this with anyone else, keeping it to herself.

After finishing filming on Friday morning, Zhou Yun left the crew to attend an afternoon event and met with Director Kang in the evening. They seriously discussed their understanding of character creation and acting philosophy.

After talking with Director Kang, it was already 9 PM.

”After the Scandal” had been online for an hour by then.

Zhou Yun saw off Director Kang and stood in the parking lot waiting for her driver to bring the car around.

Zhou Lan immediately discussed the performance of the show with Zhou Yun.

”It made several hot searches, and the topic discussion is also high. However, the discussions mainly focus on Song Chi. Your part isn’t much because there wasn’t much content in the first episode, so the keyword from netizens about you is ’beautiful.’”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”So should I just seriously play the role of a pretty vase to the fullest?”

Zhou Lan said, ”That’s also good, the program team also, because of your incident in June, didn’t air the interviews you gave in the first episode to avoid controversy. Your screen time will gradually increase from the second episode.”

”Song Chi is the big celebrity; the show is surely centered around him. I understand.”

”It’s good you understand, I was worried you might feel uneasy since you didn’t have much content in the first episode.”

When Zhou Yun heard Zhou Lan say this, she became curious about how little her screen time was, needing Zhou Lan to remind her like this.

The car arrived.

This variety show was on Chestnut Video.

Zhou Yun opened Chestnut Video, and the homepage recommended this show.

She put on her headphones and opened the program.

The car was headed to Zhejiang, a long journey ahead.

Zhou Yun watched the first episode in the car, understanding why Zhou Lan specially gave her a heads-up.

Her content in the first episode was indeed very little; out of seventy minutes of the main program, her segment was probably only fifteen minutes.
