Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 122: Chapter 120: The Beginning of the Scandal

Back when she and Song Chi were first involved in rumors, some people were quite convinced it was because both Zhou Yun and Song Chi had the same ”vibrant red and purple” phone cases.

Yuk Chu screamed, saying, ”That’s ancient history, why are you bringing it up again?”

The two of them were laughing and tussling in a playful fight.

Zhou Yun genuinely liked Yuk Chu and considered her a friend.

Over these past few months, Zhou Yun’s career and situation had undergone earth-shaking changes, but Yuk Chu’s treatment towards Zhou Yun hadn’t changed at all; where it should be, it stayed the same. In an environment where everything else was rapidly changing, having such a steadfast friend sometimes brought comfort.

As time passed, the internet rumors about Zhou Yun and Zhao Qin finally started to dissipate.

Ultimately, Zhao Qin issued an apology statement and announced her departure from the ”Geology Talk” show team, settling the dust.

Did Zhao Qin and Zhou Yun actually sleep together? Was this matter true or false? These questions remained unanswered, but of course, no one needed the answers.

Certain public impressions had already been formed.

Everything gradually calmed down.

Zhou Yun joined the crew three days early to start preparing for the filming of ”Eighth Heartbeat.”

The recent events had affected many aspects of Zhou Yun’s work, but for ”Eighth Heartbeat,” it didn’t really matter.

From planning to shooting to airing, the timetable for a film or TV series is often quite extended.

With no clear conclusion to these rumors, there was enough time for their influence to wear off before the series went live.

Zhou Yun’s ”popularity” had taken a hit, and her image had been significantly affected. In the entertainment industry, where it’s common practice to excessively praise or put down celebrities, the environment she encountered when she joined the project was also impacted.

Previously, the producer Huang Zhong had specially prepared a private rest room for her, even having people queue up for an hour or two to buy trendy bubble tea for Zhou Yun to enjoy.

This time, when meeting Huang Zhong again, his attitude towards Zhou Yun had cooled somewhat.

His words were still cordial, telling her to come to him for anything she needed.

But Zhou Yun could feel the change in his demeanor.

Zhou Yun moved into the hotel arranged by the production team. The entire crew, numbering over a hundred, had booked out three floors. Zhou Yun’s floor was mainly occupied by actors, and her room was the best suite, befitting the leading actress. As she had arrived several days early, not many others had checked in on her floor yet; it was even somewhat deserted. Few artists would join the crew early unless they had no other work in the intervening days.

After tidying her room, Zhou Yun picked up the call sheet that Sister Lan had requested from the production team to review the initial scenes she was to shoot, so she could prepare in advance.

Suddenly, she heard a delicate moan coming from the next room.

Zhou Yun’s eyes went wide, and she looked in disbelief towards the neighboring room.

The indescribable noises grew louder, grating on her ears.

Zhou Yun couldn’t fathom encountering such a scene on her first day with the crew.

It was her first time dealing with this, and unsure of what to do, she felt awkward and somewhat ashamed to seek help.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to text Zhou Lan, asking: Sister Lan, who’s staying next door?

Zhou Lan replied: Not sure, I’ll go find out.

After a while, Zhou Lan responded: Gu Huaichun.

Then asked: What’s wrong?

An image of Gu Huaichun, with his well-proportioned features and heroic brows, flashed through Zhou Yun’s mind. She snorted and texted Zhou Lan: The vigor of youth.

Zhou Lan instantly understood, sharing the shock: In broad daylight?

Zhou Yun: Unexpected.

Zhou Lan: Well, they’re young people, it’s normal for them to do this kind of thing.

Zhou Yun: The hotel’s soundproofing is awful. Should I slip him a note to remind him?

Zhou Lan: Aren’t you just scaring him then?

Zhou Yun: Sister Lan, I’m texting you while listening to moans.

Zhou Lan: ...I’ll remind his agent. I’ll say I heard it while passing by his door.

Not wanting to keep sitting there eavesdropping, Zhou Yun gathered her stuff, put on her mask, and left her room.

She had intended to go stay in Zheng Xiaojue’s room for a while, but when she was taking the elevator down, she ran into the director of the film, Lu Yuan.

”Director Lu?” Zhou Yun was a bit surprised to see him.

Lu Yuan asked, ”Heading out?”

”Yeah,” Zhou Yun nodded. ”Do you also stay on this floor?”

”No, I was looking for Xiao Gu, needed to talk to him about something,” Lu Yuan said.

A look of comprehension quickly crossed Zhou Yun’s face.

”You’re looking for him? Director Lu, maybe you should wait a bit longer before seeking him out; he’s probably busy right now.”
