Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2828: Chapter 2829: I’ve Always Envied You

”Lu Ming, what are you talking about, how can you agree to her?” Lu old lady shouted, ”I don’t believe there’s no justice in broad daylight, is having an official relative that impressive, bullying others with power?”

Lu Ming looked troubled and gazed affectionately at Bai Ruomei. If it were before, Bai Ruomei might have softened her heart, after all, they had been married for many years.

But over the past year, her heart had been hardened; she’d already seen through Lu Ming’s lack of feelings for her, her heart was dead.

With a dead heart, how could she be soft-hearted again.

”You’re right, in broad daylight, with so many witnesses.” Bai Ruozhu said coolly.

Lu old lady rushed forward and grabbed Lu Ming, ”Why should my grandson be given to her? What is she? A daughter of a fake Scholar, a jinx!”

Bai Ruozhu glared at her, is this old lady asking for a beating?

Frightened, Lu old lady quickly hid behind Lu Ming and her words became more restrained.

”Ming, you should talk to Ruomei properly, a day’s couple has a hundred days of grace, how can you bear to be beaten with a stick?”

Lu Ming looked at Bai Ruomei, but Bai Ruomei would not give him another chance.

”Two options: go to Court, or reasonably sign an agreement that the child belongs to me.” Bai Ruomei said.

Lu Ming was shocked by the resolve in her eyes, being a father for so many years, didn’t he know Bai Ruomei?

She’s made up her mind like this, no one could persuade her.

For a moment, Lu Ming felt a bit irritable, waved his hand, and said, ”Just as they say, give the child to her!”

”Lu Ming, you’re crazy!” Lu old lady burst into tears.

”Mother, if this continues to Court, not only will I be flogged, the child will still be hers, Xianghong will also be implicated, might as well... just give it to her.” Lu Ming gritted his teeth, ”Donghai’s health is poor, he has been a burden to the family over the years, if she’s willing to raise him, then let her, I’ll have another later!”

Bai Ruozhu coldly laughed inside, can you really have another one?

Back then, Lu Ming tried to take liberties with her, she devised to spill hot soup on Lu Ming’s thigh, later borrowed her second brother’s clothes for him to wear, making his scalded skin itch, including some important areas.

Originally she didn’t mean to make Lu Ming impotent, as long as he rested well, he would have recovered in seven or eight days.

But Lu Ming was impulsive and sneaked out to mess around behind Bai Ruomei’s back, worsening his condition.

Others couldn’t see through, but how could she not see through?

Otherwise, with one wife and one concubine for two or three years without seeing an increase of even one child?

”No, I don’t want it, I just want my Donghai grandson.” Lu old lady cried and shouted.

”Mother, whether Donghai can survive is another matter, Xianghong and I will have another healthy grandson for you.” Lu Ming said.

Although Lu Donghai was mischievous, he wasn’t a fool. At his age, he understood many things, and seeing his father cry out, ”Donghai won’t die, father is a bad person!”

Bai Ruomei only felt heartache for her son, holding Lu Donghai she said, ”Donghai don’t cry, mother will care for you, mother will certainly cure your illness.”

Perhaps the old lady felt moved, or perhaps she knew there was no room for negotiation anymore, she could only agree.

Bai Ruozhu called a doctor to get paper and pen, requested the officer here to help write the contract and the divorce agreement, letting Lu Donghai sign and press his fingerprint.

After completing all this, Bai Ruomei’s hands trembled as she collected the documents, looked at Bai Ruozhu, ”Ruozhu, thank you today.”

Bai Ruozhu smiled, ”It was nothing.”

She looked at Jianqi, ”Jianqi, send this concubine who harmed my nephew to the Government Office, let the magistrate punish her.”

”Bai Ruozhu, how can you go back on your word!” Lu Ming shouted.

”I only said I wouldn’t accuse you of favoring a concubine over your wife, did I say I would spare this woman? She harmed my nephew, today I must uphold justice.” With this she signaled Jianqi, who then shoved Lu Ming aside, grabbed the concubine’s hair and dragged her outside as the concubine screamed in pain.

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched, Jianqi this guy definitely doesn’t understand tenderness, no matter how beautiful the woman he wouldn’t spare a glance, only for Yizi was he most gentle.

Lu Ming chased after them, Lu old lady shouted from behind, but unfortunately her son only cared about Xianghong, ignoring her completely.

Lu old lady accidentally fell, watching helplessly as her son ran after the concubine.

The farce ended, Bai Ruozhu bowed to the doctors, ”Sorry for the show, please go back to your own business, don’t let this interrupt your duties.”

The doctors returned the bow, couldn’t help but sigh, every family has its own troubles.

Bai Ruozhu got some medicine for Lu Donghai and asked Bai Ruomei, ”Do you want to go back and pack some things?”

Bai Ruomei nodded, ”Ruozhu, help me look after Donghai, I will go for changes of clothes and return.”

”Alright.” Bai Ruozhu watched her leave hurriedly, feeling uneasy, she sent a dark guard to follow.

Not long after, Jianqi returned and said the concubine had been thrown into prison, the evidence was irrefutable, plus Bai Ruozhu’s introductory letter, the magistrate would surely punish her severely.

”That woman emerged from a dark den, as soon as the Government Office investigated, it came to light, Lu Ming chased after, when spotted he was punished, in the end caring only for his own life he fled.” Jianqi added.

Bai Ruozhu sneered, ”I thought he truly loved that concubine, but it turns out he only loves himself.”

Elsewhere, Bai Ruomei returned home to retrieve clothes and hidden silver, when she was about to leave, she was blocked at the door by her drunken father-in-law.

”You’re back alone? Missing me, huh?” The old Lu grabbed Bai Ruomei.

Bai Ruomei’s face was extremely unsightly, she struggled desperately, but how could she have greater strength than the opponent?

At this moment, the dark guard appeared, knocked out the old Lu, and took Bai Ruomei away.

Bai Ruozhu found an Inn to settle Bai Ruomei and her son, Lu Donghai was exhausted, as soon as he lay down, he fell asleep deeply.

”Ruozhu, you must have guessed?” Bai Ruomei started crying, her face red as if bleeding.

”Not for the first time? Lu Ming and the others knew it all?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

Bai Ruomei nodded, ”The old man said since his son could take a concubine, he also wanted one, then molested me, even forced me... He said why look elsewhere, it’s cheaper than taking a concubine. Mother-in-law didn’t want him to concubine again, Lu Ming didn’t want to spend money either, they turned a blind eye, but privately they always cursed me as shameless.”

She cried till she couldn’t make a sound, ”I’m unwilling to leave Donghai, just gritted my teeth and endured, but they were going to kill Donghai.”

It was today’s exposure of Donghai being framed by the concubine, and Lu Ming’s lack of intention to punish the concubine, that made Bai Ruomei realize if staying there, her son’s life was at risk, she finally decided to resist.

Of course, Bai Ruozhu’s presence gave her courage, without a maternal family’s support, it would be difficult for her to divorce.

”What kind of people are they, how did your parents choose this match for you?” Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but curse.

Bai Ruomei gave a bitter smile, ”I always envied you, Uncle and Aunt loved you so much, never let you suffer a bit of grievance, while my parents chose a husband family solely by the dowry they could give, their family situation, and whether they could profit from them in the future.”
