Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2826: Chapter 2827: Abusing His Own Mother

Lu Donghai, the little friend, has grown quite a bit and is much thinner than the chubby little ball he used to be. At least now he looks like a child of normal build, though still a bit plump.

At least he’s not emaciated, there’s still hope. Once this Thirst-quenching Syndrome progresses to emaciation, it damages the internal organs and is hard to treat.

”Donghai, quickly call her aunt,” Bai Ruomei hastily reminded him from the side.

But Lu Donghai didn’t stay by Bai Ruomei’s side; instead, he looked toward a young woman on the other side.

Bai Ruozhu followed his gaze and saw that the woman had beautiful, expressive eyes, a graceful figure, and was indeed quite a beauty.

But a proper young lady wouldn’t have such an expression or demeanor, or such allure.

This person is likely a concubine of Lu Mingna’s, but when the legitimate wife talks to the legitimate son, why would he look towards the concubine?

”Donghai, she’s your mom’s sister, you should call her aunt,” the woman squatted down and tried to coax the child patiently.

Lu Donghai let out an ”oh,” and turned to Bai Ruozhu, politely calling out, ”Aunt.”

Beside him, Bai Ruomei’s face turned red all the way to the neck, and she hurriedly lowered her head.

Bai Ruozhu felt a bit sympathetic toward her cousin. In front of her in-laws, she wasn’t as favored as a concubine, and even her own son only listened to the concubine. What a situation.

She reached out to take Lu Donghai’s hand and gently said, ”Come, sit down. Aunt will check your illness for you.”

”Can you really treat illnesses?” Lu Donghai asked curiously.

Doctor Li, standing nearby, laughed and said, ”Your aunt is our leader, the most skilled among us. How could she not know?”

Lu Donghai looked at his grandmother and said, ”Didn’t Grandma say that the older you are, the better your medical skills?”

Doctor Li and the others felt embarrassed. Someone said, ”It also depends on the person. Our leader has an extraordinary talent.”

Bai Ruozhu smiled without saying more, and carefully took Lu Donghai’s pulse.

Soon, her brows furrowed, and Lu Donghai’s grandmother became anxious, quickly asking, ”How is it? Is it bad?”

Bai Ruozhu withdrew her hand, sighed, and said, ”When we were in Anyuan Town, I remember Donghai’s Thirst-quenching Syndrome was only in its early stages and wasn’t serious. Considering how long you’ve been seeking medical help, he should have been cured by now.”

”Isn’t that true?” Lu’s grandmother sighed.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t rush to speak further. She looked at Lu Donghai and asked, ”Donghai, what did you eat today?”

”I don’t remember,” Lu Donghai replied impatiently.

”Isn’t there anything you particularly like to eat?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

Lu Donghai’s eyes lit up, ”Peanut Crisp!”

”When did you eat dimsum?” Bai Ruomei suddenly became anxious, but Lu’s grandmother glared at her, ”Lower your voice, why scare the child?”

Bai Ruozhu gave her a cold glance, and only then did Lu’s grandmother realize Bai Ruozhu was there and stopped scolding.

Bai Ruomei quickly walked up to Lu Donghai, grabbed his small hand, and asked, ”Who gave you dimsum? Tell Mom how much you ate?”

Unexpectedly, Lu Donghai suddenly shook off her hand strongly and yelled, ”Don’t touch me, you filthy woman!”

The room was filled with the sound of everyone gasping. How could such a young child say such words—and to his own mother!

Bai Ruomei’s eyes immediately turned red, and suddenly she raised her hand to hit Lu Donghai, saying, ”I am your mother. I must teach you a lesson today.”

In truth, she didn’t use much force; she still cared for her son. But Lu Donghai screamed like a pig being slaughtered, rolling onto the ground.

”Grandma, Grandma, she’s hitting me. Tell Dad to divorce her!”

A child of his age wouldn’t know such words unless he had heard them often.

Lu’s grandmother rushed over to pull Bai Ruomei away, angrily shouting, ”Who allowed you to hit my grandson? Who gave you the nerve?”

Bai Ruomei didn’t dare fight back, and the words from her son broke her heart. She covered her face, sobbing.

”Enough!” Bai Ruozhu grabbed Lu’s grandmother’s hand. It was this old lady’s spoiling that had caused all of Lu Donghai’s troubles, giving him dimsum while treating his illness.

”What are you doing?” Lu’s grandmother was scared and stammered, ”I am still your elder, let go of me.”

Bai Ruozhu snorted, ”What kind of elder are you? I am a third-rank official of the Imperial Court, I can handle this kind of matter.”

With that, she pushed Lu’s grandmother aside and picked up the still-lying Lu Donghai with her other hand, spanking him firmly a few times.

”Bad woman, let go of me. My dad will catch you and put you in jail!” Lu Donghai wailed and shouted.

Lu Ming became anxious and wanted to rush over, but Jianqi stopped him.

”This matter is for us adults to handle; you have no part in it,” Jianqi said, positioning himself firmly.

”Ruozhu, please don’t be angry. Let’s talk things over calmly,” Lu Ming had no choice but to beg.

Bai Ruomei also loved her child, but Bai Ruozhu’s imposing manner scared her. She cautiously said, ”Ruozhu, the child is ill, we should teach him slowly.”

Bai Ruozhu cast a fierce glare, ”How old is he? To treat his own mother like this, should we just let it slide?”

Quite a few of the watching doctors nodded in agreement. Yes, the child was spoiled way too much.

She continued to spank Lu Donghai a few more times. She had control over her strength and chose to hit where he had more flesh, ensuring she wouldn’t hurt him.

Seeing that no one would rescue him, Lu Donghai started to get scared. Suddenly, he looked towards the concubine, ”Auntie Hong, save me!”

A glint of smugness flashed in the concubine’s eyes but quickly changed to a look of reluctance, ”My lady, even as an official, you can’t interfere in someone else’s family matters, can you?”

”Jianqi, slap her. A concubine dares not to show respect to an official?” Bai Ruozhu said sternly.

Jianqi immediately rushed over and started slapping the concubine’s face. After several slaps, he returned to Bai Ruozhu’s side, blocking Lu Ming and his mother again.

Now Lu Donghai was truly frightened. Seeing Bai Ruozhu raise her hand again, he cried and shouted, ”Don’t hit me, don’t hit me, I know I was wrong!”

”Say it, who gave you the peanut crisp?” Bai Ruozhu held up her hand, implying she would continue if he didn’t speak.

”It was Auntie Hong. My mom doesn’t love me anymore, only Auntie Hong secretly gave me dimsum and sweet water,” Lu Donghai confessed everything.

Bai Ruomei glared fiercely at the concubine, ”You did it on purpose. You know he’s being treated and can’t eat these things. Are you trying to kill him?”

The concubine, now looking like a pig’s head after the beating, no longer had her former allure. She sobbed, ”Madam, even if you hate me, you can’t make Donghai say such things.”

”Are you still lying?” Bai Ruozhu snorted coldly, ”Jianqi, slap her!”

”No need, I’ll do it!” Bai Ruomei shouted, rushing forward. She had long wanted to hit this woman, seducing her husband and luring her son. She wished she could tear her to pieces!

She rushed forward and gave the concubine two slaps from left to right, but Lu Ming rushed over and pulled her back, ”Ruomei, have you had enough?”
