Chapter 2825: Chapter 2826: The Alliance Leader Above All

Bai Ruozhu looked at her, ”How do you want me to help you?”

”My brother-in-law is an officer now, right? I see you have quite a few guards.” Bai Ruomei’s eyes lit up, ”As long as you go with me to see the Lu Family, they’ll know I have a relative who’s an officer, and they won’t treat me so harshly.”

Bai Ruozhu shook her head as she listened, ”I won’t be staying here for many days before I leave. I can help you for a while, but can I help you for a lifetime? If the Lu Family treats you like this, why do you need to humble yourself and endure? Just divorce Lu Ming.”

”No!” Bai Ruomei’s voice sharpened in her anxiety, drawing the attention of other guests nearby. Her face flushed, and she lowered her head.

”Where would I go after divorce? Return to my parents’ home?” She scoffed, ”My father won’t support me, and they won’t give me Donghai. He’s my only flesh and blood, I can’t bear to leave him.”

This was indeed a troublesome matter. Bai Ruomei found it hard to fight the Lu Family for custody in this era. Here is not modern times, and according to the rules, Lu Donghai is the flesh and blood of the Lu Family, and Bai Ruomei cannot take him away.

Bai Ruozhu sighed, ”Alright, but I can only help you this once. Once I leave, I won’t be able to help you with anything.”

”Thank you, Ruozhu.” Bai Ruomei’s eyes welled up with tears, ”I wasn’t good to you before, yet you’re willing to help me. I truly don’t know what to say.”

Actually, Bai Ruomei didn’t really do anything to harm Bai Ruozhu, but Lu Ming was somewhat disgusting.

As for the things Bai Yibo and the Wang Family did, it wasn’t related to Bai Ruomei, though later Bai Ruomei found them a few times with some self-interest and calculations, but she was not a big villain.

It’s not that Bai Ruozhu was soft-hearted, just that thinking of her parents, if they knew, they’d feel sad. It’s better to lend a hand.

It was not easy for women to survive in ancient times.

”Here’s the plan. The Medical Alliance was founded by me. When the Lu Family takes Donghai for medical treatment, I’ll visit the Medical Alliance. Your in-laws know my identity and naturally won’t dare to be too harsh on you in the future.” Bai Ruozhu said after thinking it over.

Bai Ruomei showed a surprised expression, ”You founded the Medical Alliance?”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”I was a Chief Doctor in the Palace, and although I no longer serve there, I still hold an official position with a salary.”

”Ruozhu, you’re amazing!” Bai Ruomei said enviously, ”If I had a tenth of your skills, I wouldn’t have to endure this, and I could also take care of my own child.”

”As long as you put in the effort, there are many opportunities.” Bai Ruozhu said, patting her.

”Right, we need to go for a follow-up appointment this afternoon.” Bai Ruomei said.

”Alright, let’s meet at the Medical Alliance in the afternoon.”

Bai Ruomei, a bit uneasy, looked at her and said, ”Ruozhu, you must come.”

”Don’t worry, I keep my promises.” Bai Ruozhu said.

”Good, good, thank you.”

The two of them left the Tea House, Bai Ruomei walking with uneven steps, and only then did Bai Ruozhu notice that her shoes were worn, and her clothes were patched. Her life was indeed quite miserable.

Thinking of the days when the eldest daughter of the Bai Family’s main room, Bai Ruomei, married into the Lu Family in Town, she would return in great splendor. How unpredictable life is!

However, the Lu Family was not a good family. After all, she was the biological mother of their grandson. Even if the family had fallen on hard times, they shouldn’t treat her this way, should they?

Pushing aside her feelings of lament, she went to the Commerce Association and arranged a few matters. By noon, after eating something simple, she headed to the Medical Alliance.

As soon as she took out her badge, the entire branch was in an uproar, with many doctors excitedly crowding around to greet her.

”Alliance Leader, I’ve read your notes, they were incredibly insightful!”

”Alliance Leader, I have some questions. Can I ask for your advice?”

”Alliance Leader, what made you think of founding the Medical Alliance then? No one is as selfless as you.”

Everyone was asking questions in a flurry. Bai Ruozhu smiled as she answered them one by one and even helped many solve their doubts. For a moment, the Medical Alliance was bustling with activity.

The manager of the branch came out, and Bai Ruozhu asked about the support for the battlefield.

”Our Medical Alliance sent ten doctors to help, and they brought ten carts of medicinal materials.” The manager answered.

”Ten people are too few, add another ten, and rotate every few days. Additionally, we’ll cover all the medicinal supplies for this support mission, put it on my account.” Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment and said.

The doctors all cheered, saying Bai Ruozhu’s actions were righteous.

Bai Ruozhu smiled at everyone and said, ”I’m just moving my mouth, but the real contributors are you all. The soldiers on the battlefield will rely on you.”

”Rest assured, Alliance Leader, we will do our best to treat the wounded!”

”Yes, we’ll give it our all!”

”If only the Alliance Leader would lead the team, we could learn on the spot.”

Bai Ruozhu replied, ”I temporarily need to oversee things at the Commerce Association. You might have heard about the poisoning of supply provisions there, right?”

At the mention of this, everyone was indignant. But being doctors, they quickly turned to the topic of medical skills.

”Alliance Leader, is there any way to salvage the batch of poisoned grain?” Someone asked.

”Where there’s poison, there’s a detoxification method. Those poisons aren’t severe, they can be detoxified, but the cost has already exceeded the value of the grain. It’s better to buy new supplies.” Bai Ruozhu patiently explained, ”Because the Poison Powder has been spread everywhere, the best detoxification method is to prepare large vats of detoxification soup to immerse the grain. But then the grain must be rinsed again and consumed immediately, in addition to the costs of the medicinal materials for detoxification, which is not worth it.”

Everyone nodded, indeed it was troublesome. The person who poisoned was hateful, ruining so much good grain.

At this moment, there was a call from outside; it was the Lu Family bringing their child for a consultation.

”Is Doctor Li here? Why is no one outside today?” Lu Ming asked.

”Our Alliance Leader is here, everyone is inside talking.” Someone replied.

Bai Ruozhu looked at the Lu Family, deliberately feigning surprise, ”Ruomei? Is that you?”

”Ruozhu, why are you here?” Bai Ruomei reacted quickly, immediately pretending to have just reunited with Bai Ruozhu.

The Doctor Li whom the Lu Family had sought came out, ”Alliance Leader, is this family your relatives?”

Bai Ruozhu smiled, ”This is my cousin. We haven’t seen each other in years. Doctor Li, I’ll have to trouble you to look after them in the future.”

Doctor Li, flattered, said, ”Certainly, certainly, I’ll do my utmost.”

He suddenly realized and hastily said, ”With the Alliance Leader here, how can I show my inadequate skills? Please, take a look at the child.”

The Lu Family was left dumbfounded upon hearing this. Their ears must be working fine, did he just call Bai Ruozhu the Alliance Leader?

It was still Lu Ming who reacted quickly, stepping forward to salute, ”So, it’s sister Ruozhu! What a coincidence! We sought medical help for the child and haven’t returned to our hometown for years, and we didn’t know that sister is the Alliance Leader of the Medical Alliance. It’s not a dream, is it?”

Bai Ruozhu suppressed her disgust and said, ”Brother-in-law, don’t be too awe-struck. Let me first have a look at Donghai.”
