Chapter 2163: Chapter 2161: Yizi Disappears (Twentieth Update)

Bai Ruozhu walked over slowly, feeling a bit scared inside, probably fearing to see that look of despair on her grandmother’s face, which made her heart ache.

Jiao Yunyun looked up, silver strands slipped down, with several petals of Tao Hua petals still attached.

”Is your injury getting better?” Jiao Yunyun asked.

”Much better.” Bai Ruozhu replied, then went to sit beside her.

”It was grandma who harmed you.” Jiao Yunyun’s voice was very soft, almost like a muttering to herself.

Bai Ruozhu laughed, reaching out to hold her arm, ”What are you talking about? If we really count it, it’s me who brought trouble to everyone.”

”I also caused conflict with the Fo Family at the time, then Du Fei fled the clan and met with Achun on the way. Holding hatred in her heart, she wanted to harm Achun but was caught by them.” Speaking of Jiang Yichun now, the pain was less, only her heart felt empty.

”Later, Du Fei’s son went to rescue her, nearly killed the Medical Sage, but was slain by Achun and them. Yesterday, You Meng blocked us to avenge his son. So ultimately, it was my fault, I shouldn’t have provoked the Fo Family.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jiao Yunyun panicked upon hearing this, ”It’s not your fault, you all also came to visit me, otherwise there wouldn’t be all this trouble.”

”Nobody expected the Jiuli Clan would have internal strife, the second elder even conspired with the monster to harm his own clan. Many things are beyond what we can foresee, even if we don’t leave the house, troubles still find us.”

Bai Ruozhu sighed as she spoke, ”Life is full of ups and downs, without turmoil it wouldn’t be life.”

”Jiao Ling told you something, didn’t she? You’re here to persuade me?” Jiao Yunyun smiled bitterly.

”You’re my grandmother, shouldn’t I be upset, and you come to cheer me up?” Bai Ruozhu laughed as she asked, leaving Jiao Yunyun somewhat embarrassed.

Bai Ruozhu continued with a smile, ”Actually, there are things we didn’t tell you at the beginning, like how I had a child before getting married, and at that time Achun wasn’t by my side due to an accident. It caused my parents to be ridiculed by Village people. Of course, I felt very guilty, even considered not wanting to live anymore. But my parents and brothers were so good to me, how could I bear to make them sad?”

Actually, she was speaking more of the former self’s memory, the former self really had contemplated death back then.

”Grandma, now you have an aunt and us, what could be so difficult to overcome? Why think so pessimistically? Besides, the Third Elder waited for you for decades, hardly any man in this world could do that. Could you bear to let him down again?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

”But I...” Jiao Yunyun paused, ”I’m just afraid of harming him.”

Bai Ruozhu shook her head, ”There’s no harm or not; my school has the Qi Observation Technique. I’ve seen your fortune isn’t bad, you’re just overthinking.”

”You’re not just pacifying me, are you? Is it really possible?” Jiao Yunyun asked, half-believingly.

”Of course, you can inquire. Before I apprenticed, my master who was a former National Master of Danliang Country helped me look, saying I was a person of rising fortunes; later he took me as an apprentice. Could I not learn this skill?” Actually, Bai Ruozhu didn’t know the Qi Observation Technique, she said so to reassure her grandmother.

Jiao Yunyun’s expression improved a lot, seemingly persuaded.

Bai Ruozhu thought that if she had said she knew the Qi Observation Technique from the start, she would have captured the elderly’s mind better.

Sure enough, that evening, Jiao Ling happily said, ”How did you persuade her, your grandmother’s mood improved a lot, she even stopped saying she’s an unlucky person.”

Bai Ruozhu giggled, ”I know the Qi Observation Technique and helped grandmother see her fortune is good, so she stopped worrying.”

Jiao Ling laughed, ”That’s right. If her fortune wasn’t good, how could she have a clever granddaughter like you?”

Three days later, Jiao Yunyun and the Third Elder’s wedding went smoothly, many people from the clan came to celebrate, bringing lots of gifts. Since Jiuli people disliked yellow and white objects, and many rarely ventured out, their gifts were mostly precious medicinal materials collected from the Back Mountain, making Bai Ruozhu envious. Sure enough, the day after the wedding, Jiao Yunyun gave most of the medicinal materials to her.

Were it not for busy affairs, Bai Ruozhu would’ve liked to spend several days searching for herbal medicine in the Back Mountain.

Afterwards, Bai Zepei planned to leave to complete his patrol task and then report back to the Capital.

Bai Yihong and his wife also wanted to leave with him, having been away from home for so long, they missed it and their eldest son’s family.

But Bai Zepei persuaded his parents, partly because the situation wasn’t stable yet, partly because the Third Elder couldn’t leave the Jiuli Clan for now, if they took Jiao Yunyun away, wouldn’t they be separating right after the marriage?

Bai Ruozhu also agreed with her second brother, besides, she found the Jiuli Clan’s mountains and waters perfect for recuperating, letting her parents stay a while longer wouldn’t hurt.

As for herself, she wasn’t sure where to go.

But upon careful thought, she had many things to do, needing to find ways to break the curse on her, search for Ning Yu and Diao Bin’s whereabouts, and have Ning Yu lift the curse from Le Pinsheng’s Crown Prince Xi, which she promised and wouldn’t forget regardless of time.

Before leaving, her second brother was most concerned about her, taking the opportunity to speak alone, ”I’ll help inquire about those who can break the curse during my journey and contact you through the Commerce Association.”

Bai Ruozhu felt touched, ”Let second brother worry.”

Bai Zepei paused for a moment, then said suddenly, ”If Jiang Yichun doesn’t return, find a new dad for Dengdeng, with my sister’s talent and beauty, surely many men would pursue her.”

”Second brother, don’t tease me, I have three children, I’m not thinking about that for now.” Bai Ruozhu lowered her head, hiding the mist in her eyes.

Thinking of Achun, her heart still hurt.

”Take your time to think about it later,” Bai Zepei said.

A few days later, Bai Zepei and Si Yihuan left the Jiuli Clan, many came to see them off, apart from Wei Hall’s people, surprisingly many married women from the clan too.

Even Bai Zepei, holding Si Yihuan’s hand as they left, caused some girls to wipe away tears quietly, leaving Bai Ruozhu astonished at their deep affection. Perhaps her second brother hadn’t even spoken to them?

Previously, when Bai Ruozhu and others went to Duanyang City to purchase, they left a contact address for the people below. Continually, these days messages were sent, among them what worried Bai Ruozhu most was Yizi still yet to return!

She had Jianqi inquire, Yizi said she went to nearby Mountains to find materials for setting up formations, not mentioning how long she’d be gone, yet she’d been away for almost ten days.

Bai Ruozhu considered herself to understand Yizi, she was clingy by nature, fearing loneliness. This separation from Bai Ruozhu grieved her for a long time, calculating the days, she’d realize Bai Ruozhu would be out soon, how could she not return after so many days?
