Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1848: Chapter 1848: How Many Husbands Can a Queen Have?

”What!” Bai Ruozhu looked at Priest Sangrong in surprise; the king hadn’t mentioned this. What did Sangrong mean?

Sangrong smiled at Bai Ruozhu, ”Madam Bai, this indeed is what the king means. Isn’t the Golden Seal already in your hands?”

”I agreed to temporarily safeguard the Golden Seal and hand it over to Sangta, but when did I say I would take the throne?” Bai Ruozhu was a bit anxious, ”You all must be crazy! I’m not even from the Barbarian Tribe; to you, I’m an outsider. How can you let me temporarily be the king? Besides, I’m a woman!”

Sangrong wasn’t anxious; he smiled and said, ”There’s no gender difference in the Barbarian Tribe; women can also be queens. Besides, it’s not like you’re becoming queen forever; just until Sangta Prince returns.”

Bai Ruozhu waved her hands vigorously, ”No, no, I promised to help you find Sangta because I owe him a favor. I can’t agree to anything else.”

”I understand Madam Bai’s concerns, but our High Priest was a woman and has been queen of the Barbarian Tribe. That black panther of yours is a descendant of the High Priest’s Beast Pet, and is the Beast King of the Barbarian Tribe’s Beast Team. If it defeated the previous Beast King, it is now the true Beast King. As the owner of the Beast King, you are qualified for this position.” Sangrong continued.

”How is that possible! Xiaohei is a descendant of Princess Sangren’s Beast Pet of the Barbarian Tribe, how is it related to the High Priest?” Bai Ruozhu showed disbelief.

Before Sangrong could speak, a member of the Barbarian Tribe next to them jumped in, ”Madam Bai, after the High Priest passed away, her Beast Pet chose Princess Sangren as its master.”

So there was this background; no wonder the Barbarian Tribe and Holy Hall were unwilling for Sangren and Qi Qingyan to be together. Probably Sangren had a chance to be queen of the Barbarian Tribe back then.

”Don’t talk about this anymore. I will send someone to find Sangta as soon as possible; Priest Sangrong can temporarily handle state affairs. I won’t be your queen.” Bai Ruozhu said firmly. She was someone who feared trouble; she definitely didn’t want to take that position.

Jiang Yichun’s mouth slightly curved up; he knew his woman wouldn’t agree, and that was best to prevent her from being too entangled with Sangta, that bastard, in the future.

He felt a little displeased that his woman should naturally be as far away from another man as possible.

Unexpectedly, Dujin suddenly spoke, ”Madam Bai, are you afraid of being unworthy of the name? It’s okay. Just let the priest hold a ceremony for you; you marry Sangta Prince, and temporarily take the position of queen logically. Then you can govern the Barbarian Tribe together with him later.”

Jiang Yichun gritted his teeth and shot a sharp look over, ”She is my wife!”

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched; she didn’t think Dujin was a fool before, yet how could he say such a thing not seeing she had a husband who was present, while also being quite pregnant?

Dujin laughed, ”It doesn’t matter. In our Barbarian Tribe, outstanding women can have several husbands, just like outstanding men can have several wives.”

Many members of the Barbarian Tribe laughed along, repeatedly saying Madam Bai was so capable she could have as many men as she wanted.

Bai Ruozhu was petrified; she didn’t realize the Barbarian Tribe was so open-minded, allowing women to have multiple husbands. Wasn’t this too open?

Jiang Yichun’s teeth were grinding audibly, ”My wife can only have me as her man!”

A neighboring Barbarian Tribe woman glared at him, ”You shouldn’t be so selfish. You should think about Madam Bai. The more men she has, the more people to help her, and she could also bear more outstanding children.”

The woman’s face glowed as if she was talking about herself. Bai Ruozhu felt she was about to faint from shock, hurriedly saying, ”I’m from Zhongyuan, and don’t have the habit of multiple spouses. I have always believed in love between one pair of people for life. Don’t bring this up again, or I won’t hesitate to get angry.”

The crowd fell silent; not far away, Jiang Yichun looked at her deeply, ”One pair of people for life” was also his promise to her. They had no room in their hearts for anyone else.

Of course, Ruozhu’s sympathy for that boy Sangta! Jiang Yichun thought resentfully.

”One pair of people for life” Jiao Ling couldn’t help but mutter quietly. Fen Jiu leaned over and whispered, ”Our future life will also be ’one pair of people for life.’ I won’t look at anyone else.”

Jiao Ling looked at him, nodding vigorously.

Yao Yuxuan not far away smiled softly. He liked this sentence too, even though he hasn’t said it aloud to the Queen Mother, he had silently promised in his heart.

”But Madam Bai, you can’t ignore us. Do you want to see the Barbarian Tribe fall into chaos again? Then it’s us common folks who suffer!” Dujin kneeled down on one knee.

The nearby Barbarian Tribe people also uniformly kneeled on one knee, echoing, ”Madam Bai, you can’t ignore us!”

Bai Ruozhu looked into their sincere eyes, feeling a bit unwilling, but she remained firm in her thinking, ”With Priest Sangrong here, are you still uneasy about him? He is someone your king trusted.”

Sangrong bowed to her, ”I do not understand state affairs, nor have I ever meddled in politics. The Barbarian Tribe has just been severely damaged; it can’t afford another mishap. I don’t want it to be destroyed by my hands.”

The Barbarian Tribe people continued kneeling, not rising up; they fervently looked at Bai Ruozhu and said, ”Madam Bai, please agree!”

Bai Ruozhu wondered if they rehearsed this in advance; were they supposed to be this unified?

”Don’t force me. Have I handled state affairs before? Have I been a queen? I have no experience! Wouldn’t the Barbarian Tribe be mismanaged by me and not be destroyed in my hands then? If you insist on making me do it, I will make my husband the king and be the queen, so even after finding Sangta, I won’t return the throne. At that time, the Barbarian Tribe would just have another civil war!” Bai Ruozhu said fiercely.

The crowd was dumbfounded, just about to speak when Sangrong raised his hand to stop them. He smiled at Bai Ruozhu and said, ”You wouldn’t do that, but we don’t want to pressure you. Please consider for a few more days.”

Bai Ruozhu wanted to say there was nothing to consider. She needed to go home and prepare for pregnancy and accompany Dengdeng. However, Gao Zhou pulled her aside, so she had to close her mouth.

Sangrong called for tents to be arranged for Bai Ruozhu and her group. Whether Jiang Yichun had spoken up, or it was deliberate by Sangrong, Jiang Yichun didn’t share the same tent with Bai Ruozhu. Bai Ruozhu was with Jiao Ling and Gai Yalai, Jiang Yichun was with Fen Jiu and Tang Feng, while Gao Zhou shared with Lu and Yao Yuxuan.

”I’m going to change my clothes and heal my injuries; I’ll come to see you later.” Jiang Yichun kept some distance from Bai Ruozhu. His face had a slight bluish tint, allegedly due to carrying evil energy.

Bai Ruozhu felt troubled but had to nod, ”Then let’s have dinner together.”

”Alright, the Barbarian Tribe said they would have Roasted Whole Lamb to celebrate tonight. We should join in the festivities.” Jiang Yichun responded with a smile.

She nodded slightly. They would eat together but couldn’t sit too close.
