Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1840: Chapter 1840: Man Proposes, God Disposes

At night, the two groups of horsemen regrouped, and Luo and Gao Zhou had no gains. They didn’t even find a single clue of anyone having been there, returning empty-handed.

”In three days, the Barbarian Tribe will overthrow Sangdian. I’ve sent someone to poison the Beast Team, and when the time comes, my aunt, uncle, and I will seize Sangdian to rescue Achun. Meanwhile, arrange to support the Barbarian people and minimize casualties,” Bai Ruozhu said to everyone.

”Okay, we’ll discuss this further,” Luo said.

Tang Feng, more familiar with the Barbarian side, began sketching a topographic map on the ground, indicating the location of Sangdian’s tent, while Luo provided some attack suggestions based on the terrain.

Bai Ruozhu was not familiar with leading troops into battle, so she could only listen. Her goal and task was to capture Sangdian, and find a way to rescue Achun.

However, she didn’t know why she felt a bit anxious, perhaps she was just too nervous.

Everyone discussed until late at night before going to sleep. In the night, the wind howled, growing louder, and the sand striking the tents made a rustling sound, waking many people.

”Everyone get up quickly, there’s a sandstorm coming!” a guard shouted outside.

Bai Ruozhu sprang up, hurriedly waking her aunt in the same tent. Both went out but couldn’t open their eyes, as the sand sealed their eyes shut.

”Everyone find a place to hide quickly and wait for the sandstorm to pass!” Tang Feng shouted loudly. Having been in the Barbarian Clan for a while, he had encountered two sandstorms already, but both of those were not serious.

He instinctively glanced at Bai Ruozhu not far away. The sand was so thick, he could barely see; the bonfire in the tent was blown out, leaving only a vague silhouette in his vision.

But he thought that if it became truly dangerous, he would find a way to take her into the Space, even if she might hold it against him.

He shook his head. His state was too bad; he was worried, but didn’t know how to return everything to normal.

The sandstorm was massive, with yellow sand surging everywhere. Bai Ruozhu was tightly held by Jiao Ling, who found a low place to hide, later shielding her with her body, using her back to withstand the sand’s assault.

Bai Ruozhu felt dizzy, yet her heart was extraordinarily warm, but soon she found her back had become heavy. She softly called, ”Aunt, Aunt, are you okay?”

Jiao Ling did not respond, seemingly having fainted.

Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth and pulled Jiao Ling into the Space. With such overwhelming sand, who would notice them disappearing into thin air? At most, they’d think they were buried by the sand.

Worried about her aunt waking up with questions, she let Jiao Ling sleep even deeper, and then carefully checked her body. Fortunately, Jiao Ling was only exhausted and faint, without any major problems.

She breathed a sigh of relief but remained uneasy inside. Plans are no match for the whims of nature. The immense sandstorm would certainly affect the Barbarian Tribe, possibly derailing their original plan. If Sangdian ordered an evacuation, their previous efforts would be wasted.

Most critically, the Barbarian people believed in destiny. Right as they were about to rebel, a sandstorm descended. What did that mean? Would they dare disobey destiny?

No, she couldn’t be too passive; she had to take the initiative!

The sandstorm persisted until noon the next day. Bai Ruozhu found an opportunity, pulling Jiao Ling out from the Space, quietly hiding in the sand.

”Is everyone okay?” someone shouted.

Fen Jiu rushed to the two, anxiously asking, ”How’s your aunt? Why couldn’t I find you both?”

”My aunt shielded me the whole time and fainted from exhaustion. We were buried in the sand; I just managed to dig us out,” Bai Ruozhu quickly made an excuse.

Fen Jiu glanced at Bai Ruozhu’s stomach, ”Are you alright?”

”I’m fine.” Bai Ruozhu said, pinching Jiao Ling’s philtrum, and Jiao Ling soon woke up.

”Ruozhu, are you okay?” Jiao Ling asked nervously, grasping Bai Ruozhu with a worried expression. Bai Ruozhu felt even more touched and quickly said, ”Aunt, I’m fine. It’s you who fainted from exhaustion.”

Jiao Ling looked her over, finally relieved, ”As long as you’re okay, I’m alright too, just feels like I slept for a while.”

Many people climbed up from the sand, but two were missing, and one was found dead from being buried in the sand.

The tents and food were all blown away by the sandstorm, leaving the group standing there, dirt-covered and unsure of what to do next.

Bai Ruozhu bit her teeth and said, ”The immediate issue is we need to infiltrate the Barbarian Tribe to secure some supplies, and I’m worried the plan might change.”

”I’ll take people there!” Tang Feng stepped forward, looking particularly woeful, his eyes fixated on Bai Ruozhu in a strange manner.

”No! You’ve met with Sangdian’s people when you were coordinating with Achun; it’s too dangerous for you to go,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Gao Zhou nodded, ”It’s safer if I lead the way; even if caught, my medical skills could save my neck.”

Bai Ruozhu opened her mouth, clearly seeing Gao Zhou as the best candidate.

Her aunt and uncle wouldn’t agree to leave her, and Yao Yuxuan’s white hair was too conspicuous.

”I’ll go with the Medical Sage Senior,” Luo said.

”Find a way to locate Dujin and spread the word that Sangdian slaughtered a thousand kin, triggering divine punishment. If left unchecked, who knows how many more disasters will come,” Bai Ruozhu said, needing to take the initiative to solidify the Barbarian people’s resolve to overthrow Sangdian.

Gao Zhou and Luo nodded in unison, looking at Bai Ruozhu with newfound appreciation.

”I’ll tell Dujin you received divine instructions, and he and the Barbarian Tribe will believe it,” Gao Zhou smiled.

”That works too. The Barbarian Tribe is certainly in chaos now, so infiltrate during the disorder. I’ll let Xiaohei come to you, you can give him messages for me,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Gao Zhou and Luo soon took a few elites away, while Bai Ruozhu and the others continued searching for lost supplies nearby. Fortunately, they found a few bags of rice, enough to feed the group for two meals.

Bai Ruozhu took the rice to cook, and Tang Feng approached, speaking coldly, ”You hid in the Space, didn’t you?”

She was startled, quickly looking around, seeing no one paying attention, she nodded.

”If I were in danger, would you save me by taking me inside?” Tang Feng suddenly asked.

Bai Ruozhu was taken aback, ”Don’t you also have a Space? It’s even more powerful than mine; would you ever be in danger?”

Tang Feng said nothing, turning to leave.

Bai Ruozhu was utterly baffled. What was this situation? Suddenly just like that?

Later in the evening, there was still no news from Gao Zhou’s side. It seemed they had successfully infiltrated, but for some reason hadn’t contacted Xiaohei.

Xiaohei had already carried the poison around the Barbarian Tribe’s Beast Team for a while. To avoid detection by Sangdian’s people, the dose was small, requiring another one or two attempts to be effective.

Wonder how the shepherdess Zhou Jue was getting on with her actions?
