Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1194: Chapter 1196: If You Don’t Eat, I’ll Pour It Into You_1

By heaven and earth, Bai Ruozhu truly didn’t want to harm Elder Jiang Ge, even if he were to die, she would still have to earnestly bring him back to life.

In the current situation, if Elder Jiang Ge died, even if the emperor favored them, the Virtuous King would never let it go, and the spit from those in the Capital could drown them, she wasn’t foolish.

”Grandpa, there’s no need for angry words, it was the emperor’s decree that ordered us to return, would I dare to harm you if I didn’t wish to live? We are doing this for your own good, how can you get better without taking medicine?” Bai Ruozhu said with exceptional patience, which only made Elder Jiang Ge look like a sick old man throwing a tantrum.

”You, get out of here!” Elder Jiang Ge roared, resulting in another bout of coughing.

Bai Ruozhu quickly stepped back, ”Then I’ll stay clear, but you can’t skip the medicine, Achun, go feed Grandpa his medicine, it’s time for you to fulfill your filial duties.”

Jiang Yichun, who had been holding a child and zoning out at the side, suddenly looked towards Bai Ruozhu. She wasn’t joking, was she?

Bai Ruozhu raised her eyebrows at him, reminding him of what he had just promised her.

She gave him a meaningful look and walked over to take Little Dengdeng from his arms.

Jiang Yichun’s mouth twitched. It seemed that when she said, ”You need to cooperate with me,” she had already calculated his involvement.

”If he won’t drink, then force it.” Bai Ruozhu moved close to him and whispered in a very low voice.

Jiang Yichun suddenly understood her intentions, but still felt uncomfortable at the thought of getting close to that old man, whom he found disgusting.

Elder Jiang Ge was also taken aback; he wanted Jiang Yichun to feed him his medicine?

For a moment he was overwhelmed by mixed emotions and couldn’t help but remember many years past.

”Dad, I don’t want to take the medicine, it’s so bitter!” A little steamed bun face crumpled together, and if Bai Ruozhu could see this scene, she would have said that the little steamed bun somewhat resembled Jiang Yichun, a shame that she would never see it.

”Xuerui, be good. How can a man not endure a little bitterness?” Elder Jiang Ge, looking not yet thirty, said sternly, but even with a stern face, he lacked the rigidity he showed nowadays.

”Then let Dad feed Xuerui.” The little steamed bun pouted and shook Elder Jiang Ge’s arm, his coquettish manner especially endearing.

Elder Jiang Ge sighed, helpless, raised the bowl and fed it bit by bit to Jiang Xuerui, and in the end gave him a piece of hawthorn candy to soothe him, finally unwrinkling the little steamed bun’s face.

Elder Jiang Ge’s hands trembled slightly. How many years ago was that? Back then his second son was only six or seven years old; their father-son relationship was at its best. Jiang Xuerui didn’t act as mature as the eldest and always liked to act spoiled with him. Although he would scold him for not acting like a proper boy, in his heart, he cherished the second son the most.

But when did everything start to change slowly?

When he thought of the second son’s defiant actions, his expression turned ferocious, and he suddenly emerged from the reverie.

”Get out, I don’t need your help, you and your father are the same, all harboring ill intents, harboring ill intents!” Elder Jiang Ge suddenly shouted, as if he were going mad, which startled everyone including Jiang Xuexiang, and not a single person dared to make a sound.

Jiang Yichun paused in his steps, his grip on the medicine bowl tightening, followed by a few faint sounds of the porcelain bowl cracking.

”Achun, take care of it, if the medicine is wasted I’ll have to make it again,” Bai Ruozhu hastily reminded him.

Jiang Yichun, who dearly loved his wife, reined in his anger upon hearing this. Why was he taking it out on the bowl? He quickly stepped in front of Elder Jiang Ge, who was still in a rage, and as a hand reached out to knock the medicine bowl away, Jiang Yichun lifted his other arm to block the hit and then restrained the hand.

Elder Jiang Ge, furious, extended his other arm to strike, but Jiang Yichun blocked it. Somehow, his arms drooped, and he couldn’t muster any strength for a moment.

”If you’re sick, you need to be treated. If you won’t drink the medicine, it will have to be poured down, don’t waste my wife’s effort,” Jiang Yichun said in an irritated tone.

Bai Ruozhu smiled and explained to Jiang Xuexiang and the others, ”Achun cares about appearances. He’s also worried about Grandpa’s health and wants him to recover quickly after taking the medicine, it’s just...” she showed a look of grievance, ”there’s been too many misunderstandings here, and he’s a bit upset inside.”

Jiang Xuexiang sighed upon hearing this; the affairs of the past had nothing to do with Jiang Yichun, and the elder had not been sparing in targeting him recently. Anyone would feel wronged under such circumstances.

”Dad, don’t be angry anymore, your health is more important. Please take your medicine properly,” Jiang Xuexiang said.

The others echoed in agreement, who dared not let the elder take his medicine at this moment? Wouldn’t that be unfilial?

A look of satisfaction flashed in Jiang Yichun’s eyes as he held down the elder’s chin and the medicine was poured in.

In his time at the Board of Punishments, he’d used many methods to force-feed criminals with medicine or poison, ensuring not a drop spilled. Soon, the bowl of medicine prepared by his wife was fully inside Elder Jiang Ge’s stomach.

Once Elder Jiang Ge’s chin was released, he could finally speak, glaring at Jiang Yichun, he said, ”You’ve turned against me, this is insubordination, assaulting an elder! I can’t even move my hands, you must be trying to kill me!”

As he spoke in agitation, he raised his hand to slap Jiang Yichun’s face, but Jiang Yichun was not about to take a hit without reacting. He dodged swiftly, then returned next to Bai Ruozhu and Little Dengdeng.

”Dad, your hands are able to move, aren’t they?” Jiang Xuexiang said disapprovingly, ”Yichun is already grown up, how can you just slap him like that, especially with his child here.”

Elder Jiang Ge looked at his hands in surprise; hadn’t they just been immobile? It must be that damn kid’s doing!

”Are you lecturing me now? Do you even regard me as your father anymore?” Elder Jiang Ge pointed at Jiang Xuexiang and scolded.

Jiang Xuexiang lowered his head, ”Father, please don’t be angry, it’s the child’s lack of filial piety.”

”Alright, Grandpa needs to rest after taking his medicine. It’s natural for the elderly to have a bad temper when they are ill, uncle shouldn’t take it to heart,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jiang Xuexiang quickly waved his hands, ”Not at all, not at all.”

Elder Jiang Ge, his beard bristling with anger, said, ”Fine, fine, you all think you can bully me because I’m ill, get out, all of you!”

Bai Ruozhu curtsied, carrying Dengdeng out, and Jiang Yichun followed them out as well.

Little Dengdeng frowned and tilted his head as if pondering something. Suddenly, pointing ahead, he shouted, ”Get out!”

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun both halted mid-step. It’s often said that children will imitate what they see, learning things the fastest. And it seemed he had indeed learned this.

”Dengdeng, that’s not a nice word; you can’t learn that. If you learn it, you won’t be a good child,” Bai Ruozhu took a deep breath, suppressing the anger in her heart, and spoke to the child in a gentle tone.

Little Dengdeng looked at Bai Ruozhu with a confused expression, his little eyes seeming to ask why he couldn’t say it when his father had not been reprimanded for saying it.

Jiang Yichun, infuriated, huffed and said, ”From now on, don’t bring Dengdeng over to this part of the Yard; let Nanny Zhang play with him. It’s better than letting a good child be corrupted.”

Little Dengdeng thought his dad was angry at him, feeling both scared and wronged, he suddenly burst into tears.
