Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 706: Chapter 708: Do Not Harbour Ulterior Motives

”How did your family arrange this marriage in the first place?” Bai Ruozhu looked at the father and daughter’s clothing and could tell they were not wealthy, yet the other party was a rich merchant’s son, which felt a little strange.

”My surname is Fu, and my name is Fu Baogui. This is my daughter, Fu Yiyi. We were not a match for the Sun Family. It was because my father had once saved Old Master Sun who insisted, while he was still alive, that my daughter should marry into the Sun Family to solidify the good relations between our two families. Later, as the girls in our family grew older, the Sun Family chose Yiyi. On one hand, Yiyi is the eldest daughter, and on the other hand, Yiyi was chosen by young Master Sun himself.” Yiyi’s father choked up as he narrated the story.

”Who knew that Yiyi’s aunt and cousin had such intentions? Why didn’t they express them to the Sun Family and instead had to harm my poor Yiyi?”

Yiyi also started crying, her voice trembling as she said, ”Madam, I don’t want to die, please take me as your maid. I can do embroidery work, I promise I will work hard.”

”Then let me ask you, do you resent young Master Sun?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

Yiyi was startled and then wiped away her tears and said, ”The engagement has already been dissolved, he and I have no connection in the future.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded slightly, then looked at Jiang Yichun, asking him how he viewed this matter. Jiang Yichun shrugged and said, ”You were the one who saved her, so you decide.”

She thought about it. She had jumped into the water and had gone to great lengths to save Yiyi. It would be a pity if she were to be drowned by others in two days. With that in mind, she nodded and said, ”Alright, you can be my maid from now on. Sign the indenture contract and come with me.”

As soon as she mentioned the indenture contract, the faces of Fu Yiyi and her father changed, seeming very reluctant. The one who just said she wanted to be a maid, wasn’t signing the indenture contract part of being a maid? Or did she want to be a sister instead?

Bai Ruozhu hadn’t cared much about these things before, but they were in a foreign land, and suddenly knew such a person. Who knew what her family background was really, or what her moral character was. Bai Ruozhu wouldn’t feel reassured if Yiyi didn’t sign the indenture contract and stayed by her side.

Even the maids she bought were all orphans without any family entanglements. Reluctantly accepting Yiyi was already an exception.

”What, you want to be a maid and don’t need to sign an indenture contract?” Bai Ruozhu raised an eyebrow.

Yiyi’s father knocked his head on the ground and cried, ”Madam, please have mercy. If she signs the indenture contract, my daughter Yiyi will become a slave and will never be able to get married. Please show mercy and think about this poor child.”

Jiang Yichun also seemed displeased, ”You were the ones who wanted to become maids, and now you are afraid of becoming slaves. Then you should not follow us. We cannot allow some unknown person to follow us for no reason.”

”Please save her. When the chance arises, I will definitely repay you,” said Yiyi’s father.

Bai Ruozhu had not intended to keep the maids in her house as slaves for life. If they wanted to leave when they got older, she would return their indenture contracts, and they could go and get married. She would do the same for Yiyi as she does now, but their intentions really upset her. It would have been better if they had been upfront and asked her to save Yiyi and let her be her goddaughter or something. Look at Wai San, he didn’t want to become a slave and was clear about it from the beginning.

Bai Ruozhu disliked such scheming people. She boarded the carriage with a stern look on her face and said coldly, ”All the maids by my side have signed indenture contracts; otherwise, I wouldn’t dare to take them. You’ll have to find another way.”

Seeing Bai Ruozhu starting to leave, Yiyi rushed over and clung to the hem of her skirt, crying, ”Madam, you are a good person, please have mercy on me.”

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh, ”A good person should be taken advantage of, and I hate it when people play games with me. You should go to someone else.”

She shook off Yiyi’s hand, got straight into the carriage. Yiyi, however, cried out from behind, ”Madam, you can’t be so cruel. I’ll be drowned alive by them!”

”The road you choose is your own. The fact that you can play tricks on me shows that you are not at a dead end. Go find another way and stop wasting words with me, I’m not a soft-hearted person.” Bai Ruozhu said from inside the carriage.

Jiang Yichun glanced at them and said to the guards, ”Don’t let them get in the way.”

The Fu father and daughter were pushed to the side, both crying and begging for mercy, but Bai Ruozhu never looked at them again as the horse carriage swiftly left Linchuan City.

On the carriage, Jiang Yichun held Bai Ruozhu’s hand and said, ”That child is no ordinary girl, saving her gives some peace of mind. What happens to her in the future is her own fate, let’s just let them be.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”This father and daughter duo are unscrupulous, I sure don’t want such people by my side.”

Jiang Yichun laughed as he tousled her hair, ”My wife certainly knows where to draw the line.”

Perhaps he was in a good mood as he unabashedly kissed her on the earlobe, causing Bai Ruozhu’s face to flush red instantly. She muttered, ”Stop messing around, the child is still here.”

Jiang Yichun chuckled softly, ”Didn’t Dengdeng fall asleep?”

”Well, we still can’t, not in the carriage.” Bai Ruozhu was tongue-tied, she definitely didn’t want a version of the ancient ”car shock”, it’s too embarrassing.

”What’s wrong with doing it in the carriage?” he teased, his warm breath brushing against her cheeks caused her face to redden even more. With such a handsome face so close to her, how could she not blush and palpitate?

”Nothing.” She struggled to calm herself down and gritted her teeth as she spoke.

He extended his tongue, touching her earlobe with it, and then teased her earlobe with a curl of his tongue. She was startled and couldn’t help feeling flushed all over.

She let out a soft cry as she tried to dodge, but his large hand reached around the back of her head. His long fingers combed through her black hair, holding her head, his tongue audaciously attacking her earlobe again.

”Mmm...” Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but moan softly. She tried to push him away, but her hands were occupied holding the sleeping Dengdeng and she couldn’t free them. She struggled to turn her head away but he held her immobile. A sudden jolt of the carriage startled her almost causing her to cry out.

She bit her lower lip tightly and whispered, ”No, not here.”

”What’s wrong with doing it here?” Jiang Yichun’s voice was laced with seductive charm.

She was so angry she wanted to stamp her foot. He was doing this on purpose!

”Not here, wait until we get to the inn tonight.” Her voice was so small it was like a mosquito’s whine, her face was already burning with a heat that could scorch a hand.

Only then did Jiang Yichun let go of her pitiful earlobe. She heaved a big sigh of relief, but the moment she got distracted, a handsome face appeared much closer. Those crimson lips pressed down on hers, sucking fiercely in her mouth...

This time, Bai Ruozhu not only couldn’t resist, she couldn’t even speak. She tried shaking her head but his strong, powerful hand held the back of her head. His tongue seemed to have a life of its own, even forcefully making its way into the back of her throat, teasing her till she felt unbearably ticklish. Her throat ached slightly as if she was being devoured by him...
