Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

The expressions on both of their faces were not very good, and each one was more solemn than the other, especially when they were not talking. They were so solemn that it seemed as if even the air around them was tense.

T6, who was covered with a white blanket, lay motionless on the bed. If one didn’t look carefully, one would almost think that he wasn’t even breathing.

Looking at T6 like this, another image kept flashing past Xia Jinyuan’s mind.

One winter, his comrade lay on the bed motionlessly as if he had fallen asleep. Xia Jinyuan watched from afar and didn’t even have the courage to take steps.

That winter, he lost his comrade, J5, forever. Time couldn’t be reversed, and his life couldn’t be extended. His comrade fell on the battlefield and never returned.

This was the pain of having your heart broken.

T6 was on the same bed and under the same white blanket. When Xia Jinyuan recalled the past, the pain was still like getting his flesh cut.

Xia Jinyuan hugged Ye Jian tightly.

He thought of J5, and Ye Jian thought of J5 too. When she thought of the scene that made her feel like the world was collapsing, the pain in her heart continued.

The word ’sacrifice’ was followed by the sorrow of his comrades.

The comrade who once fought side by side with her, laughed and talked with her, went through hardships together, and shared blessings with her had fallen. From then on, they would never be able to hear each other’s voices again. Those who had never experienced this pain could not understand it.

After the accident, she met J5 at the airport. He was lying motionlessly. His entire body was cold and without any warmth. His life came to an abrupt end in his prime. When she covered J5 with the bright red flag, tears fell like a broken dam.

If… If J5 was lucky enough to be reborn like her, how good would that be?

There were tears at the corners of her eyes. Ye Jian raised her hand and wiped her tears. She looked at T6 who was lying on the bed motionlessly. Ye Jian smiled slightly. Her smile was like peach blossoms blooming in spring. It was so bright that it was intoxicating.

It was good. It was really good.

She was waiting for T6 to wake up. She was waiting for T6 to continue fighting alongside her and continue to share blessings and hardships.

Xia Jinyuan raised his hand to wipe her tears. He looked over and saw that her eyes were red. Xia Jinyuan pulled her into his arms. ”Why are you crying?”

He asked gently.

”I remembered some past events,” Ye Jian replied with a smile. ”I couldn’t help but cry. Later, I thought of some happy things and couldn’t help but laugh.”

Sometimes, the two of them didn’t need to explain too much to understand each other’s thoughts. As soon as Ye Jian opened her mouth, Xia Jinyuan knew what she was thinking.

”We’ll all be fine. We’ll all be fine…” He tilted his head and lowered his head to kiss her hair.

There was nothing else to say. They would all be fine, but… who knew what would happen?

Sometimes, they couldn’t really be fine just because they said so.

In a modern war, there was a possibility of sacrifice on the battlefield every second. They, who had always lived in a rain of guns, wanted to be fine. But in reality, they were all prepared to sacrifice at any time.

As a member of the brigade, he was the same.

Ye Jian was the same too.

They would work hard. If they were really sacrificed, it would be worth it to have such a group of comrades.
