Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Lina’s appearance gave Cheli City’s narcotics police a new direction of investigation. They also found a hidden clue that they didn’t discover before.

It could be said that Ye Jian was the reason why Lina was exposed.

If Cheli City’s narcotics police hadn’t been paying attention to Ye Jian’s whereabouts, and if the narcotics police of the three countries had not been informed to monitor the surveillance footage at the borders of the three countries, the narcotics police of Cheli City wouldn’t have noticed Lina.

It was a new face. It was a foreign face that didn’t have a criminal record and hadn’t entered China’s territory. Even if the narcotics police had sharp eyes, they wouldn’t have been able to lock onto Lina as a criminal suspect just by looking at the surveillance footage.

It was precisely because Ye Jian was beside her that Lina, who had never been targeted by the Chinese narcotics police, was exposed.

However, the investigation into Lina didn’t go smoothly. 20 narcotics officers worked hard for two days and two nights, doing the investigation based on Lina’s approximate age. However, they found nothing.

Then, they asked the Myanmar counter-narcotics team if there were any female drug dealers. There were, but her age and appearance couldn’t be matched. The woman who appeared beside Ye Jian seemed to have appeared out of thin air. There was no information about her at all.

”Keep investigating! how could there be no information about a living person? That’s impossible! Investigate! We must find out!”

”She’s alive. As long as she’s alive, she would’ve definitely left a trace of her past life. Look into her entry and exit records from countries, and what about the various cities in Myanmar? Since she appeared at the border of Laos, it means that she has a record of going overseas. As long as there are records, we can definitely find her!”

Captain Deng from Cheli City’s Narcotics Brigade flew into a rage when they didn’t gain anything for two consecutive days and nights.

While the narcotics police were still investigating, an old man who was walking shakily was escorted into the Narcotics Brigade by two traffic police officers. He was here to look for Captain Deng.

Captain Deng’s breathing was so low that his subordinates didn’t even dare to breathe loudly. When he saw the white-haired old man, surprise flashed past his eyes. The anger on his face disappeared immediately. When the old man saw Captain Deng, he grabbed Captain Deng’s arm tightly with his skinny and withered hands.

Captain Deng hurriedly held the old man. He knew why the old man was here…

The old man, who came to look for his granddaughter, had tears in his eyes when he saw Captain Deng. He said in a trembling voice, ”Captain Deng, have you found my granddaughter? Why isn’t she back yet? How long will it take for her to come back? Will I be able to see my granddaughter again?”

The old man’s muddy eyes were washed by tears. At that moment, there was a look of wisdom in the old man’s eyes that made Captain Deng not dare to look at them directly.

The old man, who hadn’t seen his granddaughter for a long time, already had an answer in his heart. It was just that… he didn’t dare to think too deeply about it.

His old bones were fine, and he was still alive. How could something happen to his granddaughter if he was still doing fine?

The old man, who didn’t want to wait, ventured out of the mountains alone. He asked around and finally reached a city he had never been to in his entire life. He saw the identical emblem on the police cap of the traffic police officer who was commanding the traffic. That was how he came here.

”Don’t worry, we’ll definitely find your granddaughter. We’ll definitely let you see your granddaughter. I swear on my police uniform that I’ll definitely find your granddaughter!”

He climbed through the mountains and came to a city that he had never been to in his entire life. Tears rushed out of Captain Deng’s eyes. He couldn’t imagine what the old man had experienced. He walked through those mountains that were difficult for humans and cars to enter and came to the city.
