The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

”Don’t worry, I won’t spread this matter indiscriminately or endanger you.”

Carson Flores glanced around and reassured, ”After you finish speaking, I’ll take you away from here and not give others any opportunity.”

The man slightly relaxed, and with a hoarse voice said, ”Thank you!”

Carson Flores asked, ”Do you know the exact location of the misty area you entered?”

The man said uncertainly, ”I only know the general area...”

Carson Flores responded, ”The general range is sufficient, it doesn’t have to be very accurate.”

Even knowing a general location makes it much easier to search, not like looking for a needle in a haystack throughout the entire Red River Mountains.

The man whispered, ”I set off from Redwood City, heading northeast, reached the Red River Mountains, and entered a place with a small-sized lake, which should be relatively easy to find.”

”After entering the mountains, we advanced deeper because we were searching for valuable things, our speed wasn’t fast, estimated at about eighty to a hundred miles a day. We were inside for ten days, sometimes moving laterally, according to this estimate, it should be roughly seven or eight hundred miles from the entrance.”

”The scenery in the mountains is similar everywhere. The place where we encountered the mist didn’t have anything particularly special.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”That’s enough. Is there anything else you can add concerning the misty area?”

The man thought for a moment: ”The accents of those two people were very strange. Although I could understand them word for word, there was a clear difference compared to how we speak—they probably come from a remote place...”

”Other than that, there’s nothing else.”

Carson Flores nodded and pointed to the puppet, ”One final question, you need to prove the authenticity of what you’ve said.”

The man nodded without hesitation, ”No problem, what I said is true.”

According to the instructions, the man made a vicious oath to the puppet, and his safety confirmed the truth of his words.

Carson Flores’s face showed a smile; after waiting for three days, there was finally a harvest.

Unexpectedly, at the first place, he had already found traces of the Leap Void Beast. Now, as long as it’s caught, everything will be smooth sailing.

Carson Flores collected the Bounty Flag, waved away the illusionary shadow of the Leap Void Beast’s spell, and packed up the table, chairs, and other items, reaching out to grab the man’s and Kaelithra Nixon’s arms, taking a step and disappearing instantly from the spot.

In the next second, the three appeared in a secluded place in the city.

Carson Flores handed over ten million Spirit Stones, not missing any, to the man. As for the Cultivation Technique, it was saved since the man was afraid and didn’t dare to lead the way to search further.

After the man quietly left, Kaelithra Nixon asked: ”The Leap Void Beast’s strength isn’t low, it has the power of the Supreme Immortal at least. It’s being raised by someone, which clearly indicates that the caretaker is even stronger—most likely a Prime Immortal. Besides, listening to the description, there are quite a few people inside, plotting something big. Us entering rashly might be dangerous.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”I’ll go in alone, you wait for me outside.”

Kaelithra Nixon snorted, ”I mentioned danger but never said I was scared. My strength is higher than yours; it would undoubtedly be better with me accompanying you, right?”

Carson Flores explained, ”Leaving you outside doesn’t mean to let you watch. If both of us enter and get trapped inside, there wouldn’t even be anyone to call for help. Let’s set a time; if I’m not out by then, it means I’ve encountered a mishap, maybe trapped, caught, or even dead; that’s when you should quickly seek help from Ward.”

Carson Flores’s words were half true, half false—regardless, he wouldn’t take Kaelithra Nixon inside.

He could act freely by himself, but if Kaelithra Nixon ran into trouble, he wouldn’t be able to explain to Grand Void Mountain.

Though mentioning Pantao and having Theo around, Carson Flores doesn’t foresee any issues cropping up; even if outmatched, he could always flee.

Kaelithra Nixon pursed her lips: ”Even if just one goes in, it should be me, right? My strength is a bit better...”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Fighting isn’t solely about realm. Besides, I’m not that great at fighting, but I’m quite adept at fleeing—certainly better than you in this regard, so there’s no need to argue. If you enter and something happens, won’t Ward tear me apart?”

Kaelithra Nixon helplessly agreed; she understood Carson Flores’s character—how could he cowardly stay somewhere safe while letting a woman take risks for his matters?

”Alright, be careful, withdraw if things seem off, at worst ask the senior for help.”

”Sure, if things look truly dire, I’ll retreat very swiftly.”

Carson Flores agreed smoothly, but internally, he had no intention of troubling Halvion Ward.

He already owed quite a bit of favor and needed to stop at an appropriate point.

A couple of times may be considered a favor, but repeatedly, without knowing limits, might result in disliking.

Kaelithra Nixon thought for a moment and took out an item, handing it to Carson Flores: ”Take this with you...”

Carson Flores looked at the unimpressive metallic sphere in Kaelithra Nixon’s hand but didn’t reach out.

”What is this?”

”Void Bomb.”

Seeing Carson Flores not extending his hand, Kaelithra Nixon stepped forward and shoved the metallic sphere into his hand.

”This is handcrafted by my master; infuse Spiritual Power to activate it, and it explodes in three breaths. Its immense power can level everything within several hundred miles, and even a Prime Immortal may not withstand the spatial tearing force.”

”Keep this for self-defense. As you can traverse space, you may be able to use it to devastate enemies at critical moments. Even if it can’t kill enemies, causing chaos might allow you to escape.”

Understanding its use, Carson Flores didn’t decline—it’s better to have more self-defense items than fewer. If it proves unnecessary, he could always return it.

”Alright, thank you.”

The following day, after dawn, the two headed toward the Red River Mountains.

After wandering around the edges of the Red River Mountains, Carson Flores found the small lake the man mentioned.

”Alright, wait for me here. Whether I find the Leap Void Beast or not, I’ll return here to meet you by this time tomorrow. If I don’t return, it indicates I’ve encountered an issue, and you can then ask Ward to rescue me.”

”Alright, you be careful.”

A distance of seven or eight hundred miles is merely a matter of a few spatial steps for Carson Flores.

Carson Flores moved through space, surveying expansively; there was lush greenery but nothing unusual.

Surprised internally, Carson Flores pondered—according to the man’s words, it should be in this area, yet there’s no sign of activity.

Mist World?

There isn’t even a touch of mist here.

As Carson Flores mused, he continued to patrol low.

Abruptly, Carson Flores’s body halted, his face reflecting shock.

Despite the bright sunshine, air drenched in sunlight, before him was as if it were foggy, misty weather; wispy mist shrouded the world, all sounds vanished, and the surroundings quietened like a grave.

Mist World!
