Chapter 2244: Chapter 2244: Void Lotus Herb

The pool in the cave wasn’t big, but the water emitted a faint, fresh fragrance.

The plant growing by the edge of the pool had leaves like small umbrellas, resembling lotus leaves, but between them were scattered leaves like orchid grass, with each leaf shimmering with a sparkling light.

This light wasn’t strong, but in the pitch-black night, it was incredibly eye-catching.

”Void Lotus Herb!”

Icy Watson’s joyous voice echoed throughout the cave; no one expected to find a Void Lotus Herb here!

No wonder such a powerful magical beast was entrenched here; it must be guarding this Void Lotus Herb.

Carson Flores’s eyes widened; was this the Void Lotus Herb that could allow the Great Land Sovereigns to bypass bottlenecks and ascend in rank?

And they just found one here?

On second thought, the goat-headed beast could even withstand Orion Watson’s attacks; such ferocity made sense when it was protecting a plant worth a fortune.

If it were him, even knowing a Void Lotus Herb was here, he probably wouldn’t be able to obtain it.

Icy Watson whispered urgently, ”Quick, harvest it. If that beast returns, we’re doomed.”

If the goat-headed beast returned to find everyone stealing its precious herb, it would most likely devour it in one gulp or attack everyone furiously, causing the cave to collapse and the Void Lotus Herb to be smashed to bits, leaving no one with anything.

Two disciples eagerly stepped forward, ready to harvest the Void Lotus Herb, but suddenly there was a sound in the nearby pool.

At the same time, a shadow suddenly sprang from the water, spraying a liquid like black ink at the two disciples.

The disciple in front, caught off guard, was instantly hit; he screamed in agony, and his body melted away rapidly like butter in a hot, iron skillet!

The disciple behind reacted quickly; as the one in front got hit and blocked the attack, a barrier lit up on him.

The liquid hit the barrier, and it was like a soap bubble being popped; it was punctured immediately.

Luckily, the barrier gave him a moment to react. As it shattered, he swiftly retreated, dodging the black poisonous liquid.

The black liquid hit the ground, and the rock it touched instantly melted in a puff of black smoke.

Carson and the others were shocked; there was a magical beast hidden in the spring!

Isn’t it said that magical beasts have extremely strong territorial instincts? How are two magical beasts sharing one cave?

What emerged from the water was a black snake about three meters long, covered in scales. Though called a snake, it had short legs with claws, looking more like a dragon.

Everyone retreated, but Icy Watson shouted, ”Attack together! If the Void Lotus Herb gets eaten, we’re all in trouble!”

Everyone was startled, right, Orion Watson, the Great Land Immortal, was still outside.

If Orion Watson knew there was a Void Lotus Herb in the cave, and it was eaten or destroyed before their eyes, his wrath would surely fall upon everyone.

Though this newly emerged magical beast had instantly killed a Hollow Void Realm disciple with its poison, its overall strength seemed lacking. Everyone mustered their courage, summoned their magical treasures, and attacked the serpent-like beast.

The beast’s combat power was indeed not strong, not daring to face everyone’s Flying Swords directly, so it leapt back into the water.

Seeing this, Carson reached for the Void Lotus Herb.

The hard rock turned soft like tofu under Carson’s grasp, and he extracted the Void Lotus Herb along with a large swath of surrounding rock and soil.

At the same time, the beast that had just slipped into the water emerged again, spraying another mouthful of black liquid at everyone.

This time, everyone was prepared and threw out Protection Talismans to block the poison.

Icy Watson, seeing that Carson had already excavated the Void Lotus Herb, shouted, ”Brother Han, retreat first!”

Carson was not courteous, having gone for the Void Lotus Herb first just to become the one everyone had to protect!

Otherwise, he would have had to reveal more skills, possibly exposing himself.

Carson slipped out of the cave, while others continuously threw out Defense Treasures to block the poisonous liquid sprayed by the serpentine beast, retreating quickly.

After sacrificing several Defense Treasures that melted from the poison, everyone backed out of the cave.

Icy Watson flicked her hand, casting a Magic Artifact into the cave.

”Boom!”

The Magic Artifact exploded, and the cave instantly collapsed, with countless giant stones burying the entire cave and the serpent-like beast within.

In the sky, the goat-headed beast saw the Void Lotus Herb in Carson’s grasp, and its eyes turned even redder as it charged downwards.

Orion Watson flashed his form, blocking the goat-headed beast: ”You’re not going anywhere!”
