Chapter 2079: Chapter 2079: Follow Me, and Your Future Won’t Be Bad!

Carson Flores’s hand, poised to strike, stopped in mid-air.

”Do you have anything to say?”

Sergio Wilkins said deeply, ”I am dead. All my experiences in the Thunder Immortal Realm, my ordeals in the Heaven One Sect, today’s encounter, will vanish into nothing with the death of my Primordial Spirit.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Yes, you will undergo Nirvana Rebirth, your Realm will plummet, and a significant portion of your memory will disappear. You won’t remember me, nor will you remember what your father told you, or what choices your Sect made for you... This might not be a kind of happiness.”

Sergio Wilkins’s voice turned cold, ”They will tell me, it was you who killed Tori Greene, killed Emmett Rhodes, killed me, filling me with hatred towards you, forgetting everything else...”

Carson Flores nodded, ”It’s quite normal, and not exactly wrong, because it was indeed us who killed you. Those unpleasant memories, forgetting them is good, still that outstanding disciple of the Sect who held expectations from his father, trust and gratitude towards the Sect...”

”No!”

Sergio Wilkins raised his head, his eyes full of deep hatred, ”I don’t want to forget any of this. I hate him, I hate them! They want to sever my future, keeping me like a dog, submitting to their commands... I am unwilling!”

Carson Flores blinked, ”So what?”

Sergio Wilkins raised his head, his face brimming with murderous intent, ”My Primordial Spirit cannot die. Once it is extinguished, even if the truth becomes known to me in the future, my future would be lost, and I cannot carry out the oath I made, to make him regret his words and actions.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”But we are enemies. I can’t possibly let you go, to come against me, right? Even if you don’t come against me, you are still a member of the Three Saints Sect, and we are at war now. I have no reason to do so, right?”

Sergio Wilkins stared directly at Carson Flores, ”What if I am willing to offer my True Soul, placing my life and death under your control?”

Carson Flores was taken aback, surprised that Sergio Wilkins could be so ruthless, placing his True Soul under his control, equating to handing his life entirely into Carson Flores’s hands. If Carson Flores decided he should die, there would be no room for resistance.

”If it’s like that, of course, it’s fine. But... is it worth it? Aren’t you worried that after I control your life, I might send you to the front lines, to your death?”

Sergio Wilkins said gravely, ”My life and death are in your hands, then I am no less than your subordinate. Given your character, as long as I don’t court death, you naturally won’t send me to die!”

Carson Flores touched his nose, ”Do you hold me in such high regard?”

Sergio Wilkins nodded, ”I am valuable to you. Although I’m not as formidable as the dragon, I have room for improvement. You were willing to save the countless beings in the Thunder Immortal Domain, even though they held no practical value to you. Why would you maliciously endanger my life?”

”Furthermore, I can tell... you harbor strong sympathy for me.”

Sergio Wilkins uttered the last sentence with some difficulty, but still managed to express it.

His gaze openly fixed on Carson Flores, yet within his eyes lay an abyss of endless darkness.

Carson Flores looked at Sergio Wilkins, ”Really going this far?”

Sergio Wilkins calmly replied, ”If I don’t go to extremes, how would you trust me, how would you let me go? As you said, merely pledging not to oppose you isn’t enough to convince you, because it does you no good. Killing me is the greatest advantage of removing an opponent. To change this, I must stand firmly on your side.”

Carson Flores touched his nose again, surprised by Sergio Wilkins’s decisiveness.

Carson Flores pondered, then asked, ”What are your thoughts about the Three Saints Sect?”

Sergio Wilkins said deeply, ”I will first return to the Three Saints Sect, and bring my mother out. From then on, I will have no ties to the Sect. If you want me to fight against them, I will fight!”

Carson Flores was somewhat astonished, ”If I asked you to kill them, would you?”

Sergio Wilkins’s eyes were as dark as ink, ”Since they abandoned me, no longer care about me, naturally I no longer need to care about them!”

Carson Flores’s gaze was subtle; such decisiveness, Sergio Wilkins was completely disillusioned with the Three Saints Sect.

No, not just disillusioned with the Three Saints Sect, he was utterly disillusioned with the entire world!

Perhaps now, in his heart, his mother is the only one he cares about.

Yet, when his mother chose to use him as a bargaining chip, leveraging Lord Sosa’s power to remove herself from being a Saintess, did she love him, or merely use him as a tool to escape the Saintess position?

Carson Flores did not pursue this, as Sergio Wilkins’s mother might already be Sergio Wilkins’s only lingering affection for the world.

If even this last attachment were to break, Carson Flores couldn’t imagine the depth of Sergio Wilkins’s despair.

Carson Flores calmly expressed his acceptance, ”If you have thought it through, of course, I have no problem. As you said, even though you offer me your True Soul to become my subordinate, I won’t send you to your death. On one hand, I sympathize with you; on the other hand, I am not a cold-hearted person. However, this concerns your life’s future, and I hope you consider carefully, because once you do this, I may grant you virtual freedom, but I will never sever the True Soul contract.”

Carson Flores spoke sincerely. The Three Saints Sect is Sergio Wilkins’s Sect, and Carson Flores is now at war with the Sect, fierce as fire, with no chance of reconciliation.

Sergio Wilkins, being part of the Sect, with unlimited potential, Carson Flores could never truly give him freedom.

What if one day he remembers and wants to avenge the Sect?

If he releases him, wouldn’t that be trouble for Carson Flores?

Of course, when the situation with the Three Saints Sect reaches a conclusion, Carson Flores may not need to coerce Sergio Wilkins into battle, can let him go, but the True Soul contract will not be relinquished.

Sergio Wilkins’s gaze was resolute, ”Yes, I have thought it through. Even if I don’t do this, after Nirvana Rebirth, I would remain merely a humble pawn in the Three Saints Sect. So, it’s better to simply be myself, clean and decisive. Without the protection of the Sect, I will cultivate on my own, walk my own path!”

Carson Flores was silent for a few seconds, then nodded, ”Alright, I accept your proposal!”

Sergio Wilkins, without hesitation, extracted his True Soul, then swore before Carson Flores, completely handing his life into Carson Flores’s hands.

This was a unilateral surrender.

Carson Flores, as the victor, originally didn’t need to make any promises, but upon receiving Sergio Wilkins’s True Soul, he still sincerely responded to Sergio Wilkins, ”You are my subordinate, but I will grant you due respect. Although I currently have nothing, I am confident your accomplishments following me will not be inferior to remaining in the Three Saints Sect!”
