The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 2070: Chapter 2070: Off to a Rocky Start!

Heaven One Sect.

”This mountain gate is truly magnificent and grand!”

Carson Flores observed the mountain gate of Heaven One Sect, which turned out to be two enormous giant swords as large as mountains!

The two giant swords fell from the sky and pierced into the ground, with their blades entirely buried, leaving only half of the sword blades and the handles exposed. Yet, even so, they stood tall like mountains. It was imaginable how gigantic these swords originally were.

Runes were engraved on the two giant swords, and these runes shimmered with light. The light flowed and connected, forming a barrier resembling a gateway between the giant swords.

In front of the mountain gate stood two rows of disciples. Their skills might not be very high, but their spirit and essence were strong, exuding a great sense of presence.

The style of a grand sect!

Carson Flores landed outside the mountain gate, and a disciple came up to greet him with cupped hands: ”Greetings, Fellow Daoist!”

Carson returned the salutation: ”Carson Flores from the Thunder Immortal Realm, here to visit Hall Master Sosa of your Enforcement Hall.”

”Thunder Immortal Realm?”

The disciple was clearly taken aback for a moment: ”What is Daoist Flores’ purpose in coming here?”

Carson smiled and said, ”It’s a private matter, not convenient to discuss with others. I know Hall Master Sosa is a busy person. I have a letter, could you pass it to him? This matter is extremely important to him. Once he sees the letter, he’s sure to meet me.”

Hearing Carson’s words, the disciple smiled and said, ”I can pass the letter on your behalf. Please wait a moment.”

Carson took out a Jade Slip and handed it to the disciple: ”Thank you!”

”Please wait here.”

The disciple took the Jade Slip and entered the mountain gate. Carson was not in a hurry and waited quietly on the spot.

About half an hour later, the disciple returned, followed by a tall, striking woman.

This woman appeared to be about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, with outstanding looks and figure. However, the arrogance in her eyes was undisguised, giving one an extremely unapproachable feeling.

The woman’s gaze swept across and landed on Carson Flores, as she walked over slowly.

”Is Sergio Wilkins’ Primordial Spirit in your possession?”

Carson cupped his hands: ”And who might you be?”

The woman said coldly, ”Linette Peay.”

Peay?

Carson asked again, ”Is Lord Sosa your...?”

”He’s my father.”

The woman chided coldly, ”How daring! A rustic little fairy from a remote Immortal Domain dares to call my father’s name directly!”

Carson frowned but didn’t bother with this arrogant woman. After all, he was here to solve a problem.

”Has Lord Sosa seen the letter?”

The woman flicked her hand, and the Jade Slip Carson had given earlier appeared in her hand: ”My father is in seclusion, not having the time to deal with these trivial matters. Since it’s a family affair, it’s naturally most appropriate for me, as his eldest daughter, to handle it.”

Lord Sosa is in seclusion and hasn’t read the Jade Slip?

Carson’s heart skipped a beat; this could be troublesome.

Although the woman in front of him hadn’t expressed an attitude, it was obvious that she wasn’t the least bit concerned.

”Since Miss Peay has already seen the content of the Jade Slip, what do you plan to do about this matter?”

Linette Peay sneered, ”The Three Saints Sect made a move against your Thunder Immortal Realm, you captured Sergio Wilkins, yet instead of going to the Three Saints Sect, you come to our Heaven One Sect. Do you expect my father to interfere with the Three Saints Sect and tell them not to target you anymore?”

Carson nodded frankly: ”Indeed, I have this thought. This matter would only require a word from Lord Sosa and surely wouldn’t trouble him.”

”Dream on!”

Linette Peay said coldly, ”My father’s wife is called Lilah Holt, his daughter is Linette Peay, his son is Raul Sosa. We don’t know the Sergio Wilkins you’re talking about and have nothing to do with our Peay family. You’ve come to the wrong place.”

Listening to Linette Peay’s cruel words, Carson wasn’t too surprised because, based on Sergio Wilkins’ words, he’d already guessed that the illegitimate child wasn’t valued.

If Lord Sosa himself were involved, regardless of how he felt, even if it was an illegitimate child, he might stretch out a hand to manage it. There would be room for discussion. But now that his daughter is handling it, everything is evidently different.

As Lord Sosa’s daughter, it’s entirely normal for her to be hostile towards an illegitimate child of her father’s from outside. Perhaps she wished Sergio Wilkins dead?

Carson calmly said, ”Miss Peay, from your standpoint, I completely understand your current attitude. But he is ultimately your father’s child. You may not recognize him as a brother, but whether your father acknowledges him as a son—now, you have made a decision on behalf of your father. Wouldn’t he blame you when he finds out?”

Linette Peay’s brows arched instantly, making her look like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. Her voice turned sharp: ”Stop using my father to pressure me, you bumpkin. I’m telling you, get lost, or else I’ll make you stay here permanently!”

”And as for that Sergio, he has nothing to do with our Peay family. Release him if you want, kill him if you want, but don’t bother us. If I see you again, I’ll kill you directly, leaving you completely destroyed!”

Carson sighed inwardly. Different targets make communication impossible!

The mission is off to a bad start!
