The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 968: Chapter 968: Someone’s Got Your Back, That’s Why You Speak So Boldly, Huh?

Liam Malone was stunned.

The ancient Lam Family, Flower Moon Sect, Demon Sun Sect, and others were all powerhouses in their own right. Each individual present was the number one disciple of their sect, a future star whose status was no less than that of Liam, the son of Rajevols.

And yet, they had all cleanly chosen to stand by Carson Flores’ side to support him!

Liam Malone scoffed coldly, ”I didn’t force him. It was his own choice. If he doesn’t dare, we can just drop the matter; don’t say I’m being aggressive.”

Lainey Dragon said with a smile, ”Of course you didn’t force him, just like in the True Dragon Secret Realm. Facing the overwhelming True Dragon Soul, no one forced him to act and save us. Likewise, no one forced you to continuously betray Carson. In this day and age, who isn’t talking about willingness?”

Liam Malone’s face turned pale.

Betrayal?

This incident had caused a minor dispute after leaving the Secret Realm, but it hadn’t spread too widely. Now, Lainey Dragon was bringing up the past in front of countless people. Wasn’t this a public slap to his face?

Kash Lam chuckled, speaking in a mocking tone, ”Oh, I had almost forgotten. Carson did save our lives after all. We haven’t even had time to thank him properly, and here you are, Liam Malone, not only ungrateful but also wanting to challenge and punish your life-saving benefactor. Tsk, impressive, impressive...”

Lainey Dragon’s words seemed to reopen Liam’s old wounds, and Kash Lam ruthlessly sprinkled salt into those bleeding wounds.

Everyone’s gaze toward Liam Malone shifted.

This man is no good!

Returning kindness with enmity!

Carson saved your life, and you turned around and betrayed him!

Well, in the True Dragon Secret Realm, you could argue that facing the True Dragon, not speaking would have meant death, and it was something that happened under everyone’s watch, so the pressure shouldn’t be yours to bear alone. That’s still somewhat justified.

But now, there’s no True Dragon forcing you, right?

No matter what, you shouldn’t attack Carson, and you shouldn’t insult your life-saving benefactor, right?

”Hey, returning kindness with enmity!”

”Cold by nature, huh? Is it because you previously betrayed Carson that you find this situation all the more awkward and wish to prove something by this confrontation...”

”I bet he wishes Carson was dead. If Carson died, this matter would eventually cease to be mentioned; otherwise, he’d have to live his life in disgrace.”

”Son of Rajevols, ha, what a petty man!”

On the Flying Boat of the Four Sects, Sophia Roth maintained a calm demeanor, silent, with an air of indifference, while Tyson Tate, the Sect Master on the Flying Boat from the neighboring sect, looked on with a dark expression, repeatedly opening his mouth as if to speak, yet stopping himself.

Liam Malone’s face was an iron blue, and the scornful, disdainful, and mocking glances felt like sharp swords making him very uncomfortable.

It has come to this, why even fight!

Even if I win, what then?

The huge label of being ungrateful and retaliatory would probably be firmly pinned on me forever.

Liam Malone scoffed coldly, ”You must have calculated the current scenario to provoke me into speaking, knowing it wouldn’t escalate to a fight, right?”

Carson Flores smiled faintly, ”As I said, if you want to fight, I’m ready to take responsibility for my own life. They want to help me, that’s one thing, but resolving my own issues is another.”

Liam Malone scoffed, ”Someone’s got your back, which is why you’re so tough, right? There’s no point in fighting now. Sometime later, we should have a proper duel.”

Seeing this, Carson Flores realized that Liam Malone no longer wanted to fight; it seemed the fight was not going to happen.

”Fine, I’ll be waiting anytime.”

Liam Malone turned and walked away; a few more minutes, and he would not have been able to contain his anger.

Liam Malone rather regretted it; he wished he had just lured Carson to a deserted area and killed him directly—wouldn’t that have solved everything?

Initially, he wanted Carson to make a fool of himself, but in the end, it was he who ended up shamed and disgraced.

Tyson Tate entered the Flying Boat, looking at Liam Malone clenching his fists and sitting in despair in his chair, and said coldly, ”Do you realize where you went wrong?”

Liam Malone replied solemnly, ”I forgot that many sects from Misrds State had also come, including many members from the Misrds State team, who would definitely support Carson.”

Tyson Tate shook his head, ”You forgot, your life was also saved by Carson.”

Liam Malone’s expression changed, ”Does that mean I should endure and swallow my words against him?”

Tyson Tate scoffed, ”Who told you to endure and swallow your words against him?”

Liam Malone asked confusedly, ”Sect Master, what do you mean then?”

Tyson Tate said coldly, ”He saved your life, and you betrayed him in the Secret Realm. No matter the reason, you were already in the wrong. If you have issues with him, and want to target him, you should be aware of your surroundings and not give others leverage.”

”Your foolish choice to confront him publicly and to actively draw so many people has shamed whom in the end? If I were you, I would have kept silent, watched Carson closely, and waited to enter the Valley of Death to find an opportunity when he was alone to strike decisively and end it all.”
