She Came to Heal, Stayed to Conquer

When Yang Haibo and his foster mother were on the third floor of Mandarin Duck Hairpin, they were very happy to see Han Lei.

Yang Haibo felt especially awkward. Just now, on the first floor, he didn’t recognize the chubby girl as Han Lei and mistook her for a spy sent by a competitor, so he paid her extra attention.

However, Han Lei did not blame him. Instead, she praised him, saying that having a business sense of vigilance is a good thing.

Han Lei spent an entire afternoon at Mandarin Duck Hairpin. Not only did she discuss some business matters with Yang Haibo, but she also praised Yang Xiaomei’s talent in beauty and makeup, almost saying she was self-taught.

Taking advantage of the free time while talking with Yang Haibo, Han Lei also used her phone to download modern nail art videos from the system, allowing Yang Xiaomei and Ms Yang to sit beside and watch slowly.

As soon as the video started playing, Yang Xiaomei and her mother were deeply attracted by the scenes.

At first, Yang Xiaomei thought the woman in the video was painting, as a woman held a small brush, dipped in colorful paints, and gently applied it to another woman’s nails.

Before long, delicate little flowers appeared on the nails, with intricate petals and vibrant colors, almost like real flowers.

Yang Xiaomei and her mother watched in amazement, filled with admiration.

They had never thought that nails could be decorated in such a way!

In this era, although women cared about their appearance, they would at most use balsam flower to dye their nails red. They had never seen such exquisite craftsmanship.

Then, the next video played on the screen.

Yang Xiaomei watched the manicurist skillfully trim, polish, color, and embed rhinestones.

When the final coat of shine was applied, the nails of the woman on screen became dazzling, like they were adorned with stars.

Seeing this, Yang Xiaomei couldn’t help but reach out and look down at her own unadorned nails, feeling a tinge of envy.

At Mandarin Duck Hairpin, various colors of nail polish were now sold, with a small audience, but most people did not apply them well.

Therefore, nail polish sales at Mandarin Duck Hairpin were not among the top-selling products.

If such painting and carving techniques were added, not only would nail polish sales improve, but nail art would surely become all the rage in the city, raising its grade and attracting high-end clients.

After watching the videos, both Yang Xiaomei and her mother were clamoring to learn nail art.

Especially Ms Yang, who, having been accustomed to working at home, felt strange being idle after arriving in the Capital City.

Han Lei thought about it and decided that this might be a good idea.

Though Ms Yang might not serve high-end clients, she could serve the general public.

Moreover, once she mastered it, Ms Yang could do whatever she could at Mandarin Duck Hairpin.

This way, Ms Yang could not only become a helper beside Yang Haibo but also have a stable job and, like Yang Xiaomei, earn some Silver.

Han Lei told them that she would come in a few days to teach them nail art.

Once they learned, she hoped Yang Xiaomei would start a class at Mandarin Duck Hairpin to train more nail and beauty technicians.

This way, more women of this era could step out to work, also laying the foundation for future branches of Mandarin Duck Hairpin.

Since Yang Xiaomei and her mother were rural women with no prior painting experience, Han Lei downloaded enough learning videos and some nail art tools for them to teach themselves before she left Mandarin Duck Hairpin.

Taking advantage of the sun not yet setting, she still had to rush to the new ”Brocade Workshop” ready-to-wear business prepared by Wei Chengchao and Yang Haibo for a look.

Then, based on the actual situation of this era, decide on the types of goods to be sold at the ready-to-wear shop on-site.

As Haibo needed to look after the business at Mandarin Duck Hairpin, Han Lei didn’t let him tag along. She only asked him to point out the way before heading to ”Brocade Workshop” herself.

Just as she turned a corner, Han Lei noticed a particularly familiar figure ahead.

Han Lei felt that the person ahead looked like Zhao Qiao’er’s back, but since ancient women all wore hair buns, she couldn’t be sure, so she quickened her pace to catch up.

”Darling, after you leave this time, I’m going back to my mother’s house for a few days. My mother said she misses me.” A voice came from the figure ahead.

Hearing this voice, Han Lei immediately confirmed that the person ahead was Zhao Qiao’er.

Zhao Qiao’er was walking side by side with a man, seemingly out for a stroll.

Today, she was wearing a lotus-colored long dress, with delicately embroidered trailing flowers on the collar and cuffs, and butterflies dancing on the hem of the skirt, looking rather elegant.
