She Came to Heal, Stayed to Conquer

After having lunch at the hotpot restaurant, Big Fatty accompanied Han Lei and the others on the road to Yuanyang Pin.

Han Lei decided to gather information while taking the time to understand the situation of all her businesses in the Capital City to make further arrangements.

The afternoon sun cast its light on the bluestone-paved streets, creating mottled shadows.

Street vendors shouted, and pedestrians bustled about, creating a lively scene.

Suddenly, an urgent sound of horse hooves came from ahead, accompanied by the rumbling of wheels rolling over stones.

The crowd looked toward the sound and saw a luxuriously decorated carriage speeding toward them, its curtain embroidered with gold threads and bells hanging at the four corners, jingling as it moved.

The driver waved the whip, shouting, ”Make way! Make way! Princess Changle’s carriage!”

The pedestrians on the road hurried to get out of the way, and even Han Lei grabbed Big Fatty’s sleeve and quickly dodged to the side.

The carriage sped ahead, and an old vegetable farmer, due to his age and less flexible legs, moved slightly slower. His vegetable basket was knocked over by the incoming carriage, scattering leaves all over the ground.

”Ouch!”

The vegetable farmer screamed and fell to the ground, and the scene was filled with shrieks.

As the wheels quickly ran over the farmer’s shoulder pole, the carriage jolted, causing Princess Changle inside to be tossed in the air and hit her head against the carriage wall, her eyes seeing stars.

Princess Changle hadn’t recovered from the stars in her eyes when she heard the discussions and scoldings from the passersby outside the carriage.

”Oh! Someone was hit.”

”Why is this carriage charging recklessly?”

”Can’t they see all the people on the road?”

Princess Changle lifted the carriage curtain and stepped out, her face full of anger.

”How dare you!”

She was dressed in a luxurious silk gown, with her hair adorned with a gold-threaded hairpin, her features beautiful yet sharp. Her angry shout silenced the bystanders.

She adjusted the hairpin knocked askew on her head, her gaze coldly sweeping over the fallen vegetable farmer, her voice sharp and piercing.

”You lowly commoner, how dare you block the path of my carriage! Do you have a death wish?”

Terrified, the farmer trembled all over, repeatedly kowtowing and begging for forgiveness: ”Have mercy, noblewoman! I didn’t mean to, my legs just aren’t nimble enough to move in time...”

Princess Changle snorted coldly, about to continue her scolding, when a nearby beggar in tattered clothes suddenly spoke up.

”Commandery Princess, this vegetable farmer is old and frail, and has difficulty moving. Why be so harsh on him? Besides, with so many people on the street, your carriage should slow down.”

Hearing this, Princess Changle’s face changed drastically, her gaze like daggers at the beggar.

”Insolence! How dare you, a lowly commoner, reprimand me!” She waved her sleeve, ordering her attendants: ”Slap him! Teach him what can and cannot be said!”

Princess Changle’s attendants immediately stepped forward, grabbing the beggar’s collar, delivering several loud slaps.

The beggar, with blood at the corner of his mouth from the beating, glared at the attendant but dared not retaliate.

Han Lei frowned deeply as she was about to reprimand Princess Changle.

At this moment, Big Fatty leaned over and whispered to her, ”See that! This is the rule of the Su Family.”

Hearing this, Han Lei’s face, altered by special effects makeup, couldn’t conceal her anger.

With her past experiences at the palace banquet and being kidnapped after being drugged, she knew well of Princess Changle’s arrogance and disdain for others. Yet witnessing Princess Changle’s domineering behavior today still infuriated her.

The brothers of the Big Three, seeing this, were also furious.

As veterans of the battlefield, they had a black-or-white view of things, solving disputes with their fists, and despised such bullying behavior.

One of the Big Three walked forward in big strides, pushing at the carriage gear, then helped the farmer up, glaring at Princess Changle.

”Commandery Princess, you’ve gone too far! It was your carriage that was too fast and hit someone. That beggar merely spoke a fair word; why humiliate him so?”

Seeing that one of the Big Three dared to contradict her, Princess Changle’s already unsightly face grew even darker.

”Where did you crawl out from, daring to push my carriage and speak rudely to me!”

She pointed at the Big Three, yelling to her attendants: ”What are you waiting for? Cut off this commoner’s hand as compensation for my carriage.”

Upon hearing this, the attendants immediately drew their weapons, advancing toward the Big Three.

The Big Three clenched his fists, a trace of murder flashing in his eyes, about to act, but was pulled back by Han Lei.

While Princess Changle and the Big Three exchanged words, Han Lei turned her head, whispering gently for Big Fatty to leave first.
