She Came to Heal, Stayed to Conquer

Zhao Zun finished announcing, thinking there would be nothing else. Just as everyone was turning to do their own work, Gou Sheng walked over again.

”Prince, you don’t want me to say the Princess Consort is a monster. I won’t say it anymore. Everyone knows that in the military camp, strength speaks. If you want us to follow the Princess Consort’s orders, you have to show us the Princess Consort’s skills, right?”

Zhao Zun furrowed his brows and pointed at the shovels and pickaxes on the ground, speaking in a displeased tone, ”The Princess Consort can procure food and so many tools, doesn’t that count as skill?”

Seeing the prince’s change of expression, Gou Sheng covered his buttocks and retreated two steps, cautiously watching Zhao Zun.

”But in the military camp, we’re all fighting with fists. In the Beiguan Camp, we all admire the Prince and are willing to follow him. But the Prince is the Prince, and the Princess Consort is the Princess Consort. To make us men follow a woman’s orders, she... she has to beat us in a fight, right?” Gou Sheng muttered.

”You...”

Zhao Zun pointed at him, so angry he didn’t know what to say.

Li Erniu and Xiao Zhengfei nearby were also angry, grabbing their ears, itching to go up and give him a beating. But the Prince was there, and without his word, they didn’t dare act rashly.

Han Lei looked silently at this guy lacking a few brain cells, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

However, Gou Sheng’s words were also true.

The military camp is a place where strength speaks, Zhao Zun’s prestige was fought for, and she must show some real skill to command these soldiers.

”Beat you, huh? Let’s go.”

Han Lei raised her eyebrows, starting to flex her fingers.

Gou Sheng was stunned; he hadn’t expected the Princess Consort to accept the challenge. He looked around, seeing the Prince wasn’t stopping them, he bravely stepped forward.

”Princess Consort, excuse me!”

Gou Sheng ceremonially clasped his fists in a salute, then took up a stance.

Seeing Han Lei was truly going to fight Gou Sheng, a trace of concern flashed across Zhao Zun’s face, ”Girl, are you really...”

He knew Han Lei knew some martial arts, but these brawny men didn’t hold back, he didn’t want this girl to accept the challenge.

”Make them all step back.”

Han Lei didn’t look at Zhao Zun, but smiled slightly, her figure flickered, and she was already in front of Gou Sheng.

Gou Sheng only saw a blur in front of his eyes, and before he could react, Han Lei’s fist was already aiming straight for his face.

Gou Sheng hurriedly raised his hand to block, but felt a strong force, causing him to retreat a few steps involuntarily.

”Such speed!”

Gou Sheng was shocked, not daring to be careless anymore. He glanced at Zhao Zun, having to deal with it full force.

Seeing they were truly fighting, without Zhao Zun having to shout, everyone had already stepped back, opening up a space for them.

Han Lei’s moves seemed gentle but were incredibly fierce.

Her combat was as agile as a serpent, with no unnecessary show, each strike aimed directly at Gou Sheng’s weak points.

Although Gou Sheng was strong, under Han Lei’s offensive, he seemed awkwardly clumsy.

After a few moves, Gou Sheng was already panting heavily, while Han Lei remained calm and composed.

She suddenly turned, kicking towards Gou Sheng’s knee. Gou Sheng couldn’t dodge in time, his knee hit and he knelt down.

”Oh no!”

Gou Sheng cried out, clutching his knee.

”Do you want to continue?” Han Lei raised an eyebrow and asked lightly.

Gou Sheng gritted his teeth and struggled to stand up, ”Again!”

Han Lei nodded, having exchanged those few moves, she had an understanding of the ordinary soldiers’ strength in this era.

In the eyes of a special forces member like her, these soldiers were nothing. In a one-on-one fight, she was confident she’d defeat them convincingly.

They quickly engaged in battle again, Gou Sheng practiced daily, although mostly collective training, he was strong, so Han Lei avoided his brute force attacks.

Han Lei moved like lightning, her actions clean and swift, with fierce punches containing the precision and power of modern combat techniques.

Gou Sheng simply swung his blade down, the blade gleaming coldly. Han Lei sidestepped swiftly, her right hand grappled the soldier’s wrist like an eagle’s talon, twisting forcefully, the sword fell to the ground.

Before Gou Sheng could react, Han Lei’s left knee slammed into his abdomen, causing Gou Sheng to grunt.

He hadn’t time to clutch his painful abdomen, Han Lei crouched suddenly, using a shoulder throw to slam him harshly onto the ground.

Zhao Zun watched, lips curling into a smile, his previously worried heart finally at ease.

At this moment, another soldier, unconvinced, crept up stealthily without notice, striking with a spear aimed at Han Lei’s waist.
