She Came to Heal, Stayed to Conquer

Han Lei stood aside, her gaze wandering around the shop, clearly showing an interest in the arrangement and products here.

Princess Changle glanced at him and said with a smile: ”Mr. Wei, didn’t you say you came to observe and learn? Why don’t you take a look around, I’ll go upstairs first.”

Upon hearing this, Han Lei hastily cupped her hands and said: ”Thank you, Commandery Princess, then I won’t accompany you.”

Having said that, Han Lei turned and began leisurely strolling around the first floor.

Yang Haibo was busy attending to other guests, but his peripheral attention was focused on Han Lei.

Seeing him looking around, occasionally picking up items for a closer inspection, yet never intending to purchase, suspicion arose in his heart.

”This little chubby, could he be sent by a competitor to spy?” With this thought, Yang Haibo became more wary of Han Lei.

Han Lei, completely unaware of Yang Haibo’s thoughts, continued to browse with great enthusiasm. Of course, while Yang Haibo was watching her, she was also secretly observing Yang Haibo’s work.

After finishing her tour and arriving at the third floor, Han Lei happened to see Princess Changle seated in front of a mirror, while Yang Xiaomei was applying eyeliner for her.

Han Lei took a closer look, and couldn’t help but be a bit surprised.

Princess Changle’s originally unremarkable appearance, under Yang Xiaomei’s handiwork, now looked radiant and stunning, with a touch of charm in her eyebrows and eyes, and skin that appeared delicate and smooth. It was like an unreal beautification.

”Hmm... this beauty is really over the top!” Han Lei exclaimed in admiration.

Princess Changle heard the voice, knowing it’s a compliment, she turned her head and asked with a smile: ”Mr. Wei, what do you think?”

Han Lei immediately stepped forward, delivering an exaggerated string of praises.

”Commandery Princess is naturally beautiful, and now with this young lady’s skillful adornment, looks as beautiful as a celestial being! Especially after painting the eyes, your eyes are large and lively, tsk tsk... The items from Yuanyang Zan are truly exceptional, even someone like me, an outsider, feels moved.”

Yang Xiaomei laughed and covered her mouth: ”You’re too kind, sir, it’s mainly because the Commandery Princess has a good foundation, my work is just the icing on the cake.”

Princess Changle, being flattered by them, felt overjoyed, looked into the mirror left and right, becoming more satisfied.

She waved her hand, immediately showing off in front of Han Lei, saying lavishly: ”Xiaomei, package each of these for me, and also bring those newly arrived pieces of jewelry for me to see.”

Yang Xiaomei heard this, a hint of joy flashed through her eyes, and she quickly responded: ”Yes, Commandery Princess, please wait a moment, I’ll prepare them right away.”

Seeing this, Han Lei seized the opportunity to add fuel to the fire.

”Commandery Princess, I think these items from Yuanyang Zan truly suit someone of your esteemed status, not only are they of superior quality, but they also enhance your beauty, making them a real bargain.”

Princess Changle, upon hearing this, couldn’t stop smiling: ”Mr. Wei really knows how to talk, I’m in a good mood today, might as well buy some more, that way I can share them with my sisters when I get back.”

After a while, Yang Xiaomei had packed up a large pile of exquisite goods, respectfully delivering them to Princess Changle.

Princess Changle looked at the bill, casually waved: ”Put it on my tab, later I’ll send somebody with the silver note.”

Yang Xiaomei nodded respectfully: ”Yes, Commandery Princess, take care, you’re always welcome.”

Princess Changle nodded in satisfaction, asking Han Lei: ”Do you want to leave together?”

Han Lei nodded: ”Then, Commandery Princess, take care. I still want to stay here and learn some more.”

Princess Changle didn’t insist, and happily left Yuanyang Zan with her maids.

Once Princess Changle was out of sight, Han Lei finally patted Yang Xiaomei on the shoulder and praised with her own voice:

”Yang Xiaomei, you did great. When you encounter such a fat pig, that’s what’s meant to be slaughtered.”

”Pfft, sir, you over...”

Yang Xiaomei burst into laughter, was about to say that the sir was overpraising, but hearing that familiar voice, she suddenly froze.

She carefully examined Han Lei up and down, confirming she didn’t recognize this chubby gentleman before her.

For a good while, she said in surprise: ”Sir, why does your voice sound different from before?”

Han Lei glanced around, seeing that there were no other guests on the third floor, then giggled.

”Hehehe, Yang Xiaomei. How come even you don’t recognize me? I’m Han Lei.”

Yang Xiaomei’s mouth opened wide at once, calling out with uncertainty: ”Han... Miss Han?”

Han Lei nodded playfully, her bright and lively eyes blinked rapidly.

Upon confirming that the chubby gentleman standing before her was indeed Han Lei, the corners of Yang Xiaomei’s mouth twitched involuntarily.

”Miss Han, why are you dressed like this?”

”Shh!” Han Lei put her index finger to her lips, making a gesture to keep quiet.

”Lower your voice, don’t let anyone know I’ve returned to the Capital City. Go call your brother and your mother here, I have something to tell you.”

Yang Xiaomei nodded repeatedly, delighted by Han Lei’s appearance.

”Alright, alright, Miss, wait here. I’ll go call them right away.”
