Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 800: Chapter 774: Quietly Waiting for You

Just as Chen Xiaoqian predicted, on the second day of her medical internship, she encountered the woman they had met while distributing flyers on the street.

After a lengthy hour of conversation therapy, Chen Xiaoqian formulated a detailed treatment plan for the woman, scheduling sessions once a week, with approximately four treatments planned.

Having completed these arrangements, Chen’s first task was to find Chen Xiaoqian. She was habitually inclined to have Chen review her plans, akin to a schoolkid seeking their teacher’s approval after finishing homework.

When Chen came to find Chen Xiaoqian, Xiaoqian was at home doing yoga. Her body was incredibly flexible, as she’d maintained a yoga routine for years, allowing her to twist into various poses.

”Qian, I met the woman who was abused at home. Today I tested her and found she has mild depression and childhood trauma. Her father was violent, and she grew up in a submissive environment. I didn’t question her about why she didn’t divorce; I plan to help her rediscover herself first.”

”Hmm.” Xiaoqian heard the words ’rediscover herself,’ and a smile tugged at her lips. She adjusted her posture into an elbow stand, making Chen nervous.

Xiaoqian was perfectly balanced in an impressive straight line, using only her elbows for support, looking dangerously poised, which left Chen speechless.

Only after Xiaoqian completed the high-difficulty move did Chen breathe a sigh of relief.

”You should try it too; handstands are a very enjoyable exercise. They can make you feel the life force flowing within your body; I love it.”

Xiaoqiang also loves it.

Every time Xiaoqian does yoga, Yu Minglang’s eyes gleam green as he watches on.

”I’d rather not.” Chen also has a fitness habit. Her first encounter with Minglang was rooted in her diet and fitness plan, though she couldn’t match Xiaoqian’s yoga flexibility.

”Sometimes things seem complicated but are simple to do. If you believe you can, then you can.”

Chen silently contemplated Xiaoqian’s words. She wanted to share more about her work plan, but Xiaoqian was shifting into an even more twisted pose, so Chen kept quiet so as not to interrupt Xiaoqian’s practice.

When Xiaoqian was finally done, Chen was about to speak, but Xiaoqian patted her shoulder.

”Just follow your plan; you don’t need to explain the details to me. Remember, whatever you do, I’m here to support you, so don’t be afraid. Treat her however you think necessary; even if it goes wrong, it’s okay.”

”...Is this the right way to mentor someone?” A wave of embarrassment washed over Chen, though Xiaoqian’s words gave her some confidence. But saying it’s fine if it goes wrong—is that what a mentor should say?

”Absolutely appropriate.”

In her heart, Xiaoqian added, if in ten years the top ten psychologists in the country don’t include Chen, then she’d write her name, Chen Xiaoqian, in reverse.

Don’t doubt those you trust; Xiaoqian gave Chen what she needed most right now.

Confidence.

”Then I’ll go for it wholeheartedly.” Chen’s eyes gleamed with joy; Xiaoqian’s affirmation was enormously important to her.

When Yu Minglang opened the door, he saw Chen, invigorated and declaring her intentions to Xiaoqian.

He raised his eyebrows, curious about how his wife brainwashed someone again?

This earnest wife encountering their clever woman was like a devotee encountering a preacher; Chen Xiaoqian would convince her of anything.

Seeing her husband return after several days, Xiaoqian’s face relaxed.

”Just in time for him to be back, why don’t you stay for dinner, Chen?”

”No, I need to pick up Panpan. I promised to take him for pizza today.” Chen was not just a good wife; she was also a great mother, placing great importance on her education of Panpan, fulfilling promises made to him.

”Alright, I won’t keep you then.” Xiaoqian and Yu Minglang saw Chen out, and once the door closed, he pulled Xiaoqian close.

”What are you doing...” Xiaoqian pushed him, wondering where he’d run off to, sweaty and drenched.

”Take a guess.”
