Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 795: Chapter 769: That’s Just How a Gentleman Is—No Problem at All

”Borderline personality disorder has a nickname called ’psychologist killer.’ Many psychologists struggle to treat this illness, feel a sense of defeat, and lose confidence to the point of changing careers. The big boss keeps an eye on what cases we take, like a busybody, because she’s afraid some of her students might be too eager for success and take on the challenging ones right away, especially the one Hua is tackling.”

Even a seasoned psychologist like Qian has to ensure she’s in her best state when handling such cases, or she’d genuinely be driven crazy by such patients.

This is also why Qian didn’t rush to take on Li Jia’s case; she’s getting married and has no time, plus this condition is incredibly difficult to treat and distracting.

”So, what do you think? Can Hua handle it well?”

”If you give her some time to accumulate more clinical experience, she can do it. Hua has been with the big boss for a long time. Although her ego has grown, her professional ability is still there.”

Aka mused silently, understanding that Hua is currently unable to handle complicated conditions.

Some people don’t learn without experiencing a setback. This is something Qian only considered briefly in her mind and could reasonably guess how things would unfold afterwards.

Aka didn’t expect that one day she could sit peacefully with Qian like this, chatting like friends. This feeling was quite special. While Qian went to the bathroom, an excited Aka couldn’t help but send a text message to the boss.

Boss, does this mean I’m good friends with Qian now?

She hadn’t had particularly good friends growing up. Being by Qian’s side for so long, Aka quietly observed. She really liked Qian and envied how Qian stood up for her friends. Aka really hoped to become a member of Qian’s core team.

The boss’s reply was just two words.

Dummy

Aka pondered these two words for a long time, not understanding, and just assumed she was indeed Qian’s friend now, secretly pleased.

Qian returned from the restroom, just sat down, when Fugui called Qian.

”The hospital is pressing, and your apprentice can report there directly tomorrow.”

”You’re not accompanying her?”

”Liumei and I are going to the beach; we’ve already made arrangements — Qian’er, are you sure your apprentice can handle the job? She seems like a newbie, directly facing terminal patients; won’t she find it hard to adjust?”

”I know my apprentice’s abilities. She can do it.”

Qian hung up the phone, noticing Aka’s curious look. This little blond, like a curious baby, had a strong desire to explore all things unknown.

”Are you wondering why I’m not like the big boss, arranging each apprentice’s career path?”

Aka nodded vigorously like a chicken pecking rice.

”That’s because I know Da Yi’s abilities. When she’s in this position, she’ll surely—”

”—feel at home?”

”Like a cat on hot bricks.”

”...Is she mad at you? I remember your apprentice is also your second sister-in-law?” The former eliminated agent knew about these things.

”Everyone’s personality is different, with different thresholds for tolerance. I understand Da Yi’s personality; once she faces her fears, she’ll overcome them and be fit for the job I have for her.”

Qian spoke while dialing Da Yi.

The phone rang for a long time before being answered.

”Qian... Qian.”

”Da Yi, what are you up to?”

”I...” Da Yi helplessly glanced at someone, who stopped his actions, looking very gentlemanly.

A gentleman wouldn’t disturb his wife’s call; Mr. Yu thought there was nothing wrong with him.

Nothing wrong, my foot! How can you have a pleasant call like this? If you’re so capable, leave the room!

Since starting up, Mr. Yu’s been heading straight down the road of repressed... flirtatiousness, with no turning back.

Not disturbing just meant he wasn’t moving, but it didn’t mean he’d leave!

”I’m fine.” Da Yi had just spoken when she sensed the man under her moving subtly, taking a sharp breath, thankful that Qian hadn’t noticed.

”I’ve arranged an intern job for you. Do you want to do it?”

”Yes—Ah!”

Punch him! Bastard!

Mr. Yu was quite innocent; you did say you wanted to do it, right?

Is it wrong to listen?

”Are you really okay?” Qian squinted.

”Yes.”

”Then I’ll keep it brief. There’s an internship opportunity at a hospital, very rare for you. Do you want it?”

”Yes.”

You said you wanted it! Mr. Yu was innocent once more.

Determined to hang up the call... must kick him off, Da Yi silently vowed.

”Alright, let me briefly explain that once you’re there, your main job is to comfort terminally ill patients. But you may also encounter a ’brute.’”

”A brute?!” Da Yi looked helplessly at the man on top of her. Isn’t the biggest brute right here?

”Here’s the thing...”

Qian explained the whole situation, mentioning there was a man at the hospital who had been bitten in the balls by a dog. He’s a vile brute who induces young girls. Da Yi might encounter him. This person escaped legal punishment using various means, causing severe psychological harm to an innocent girl, but got his comeuppance inexplicably.

”Then I won’t take his case.”

”No, you must take it. You must treat him. This is a special test I’m giving you. I hope to see a satisfactory answer from you.”

Qian’s way of mentoring apprentices differs markedly from the big boss and is quite unique. She really wants to see how Da Yi would handle the balance between medical ethics and humanity.

”Alright, I’ll make sure to give you a satisfactory answer.”

”Mm, I hope Mr. Yu will satisfy you too. I won’t disturb you two any longer.”

Da Yi’s face was burning. Qian guessed it, for sure!

It’s this bastard Mr. Yu’s fault! Da Yi glared fiercely at Mr. Yu, who calmly watched her hang up and offered her a particularly mischievous yet gentle smile.

”In the future, I’ll pick on Yu Laomao to vent for you.”

Yu Laomao’s wife came to provoke his wife, so he bullied Yu Laomao; nothing wrong with that.

”Why would you hit him! It’s clearly your fault! Get out, get out!” Over the two years following her mentor Qian, Da Yi’s gained a little bit of Tsundere attribute.

”Mm, I’m going out— I’m back in. I went out again. Fun?”

”...Get lost!”

When the two first got together, Mr. Yu was quite reserved. Under Qian’s advice, Da Yi found some comedy films for Mr. Yu to watch, which ended up with no turning back for him.

Da Yi thought, no more Stephen Chow films for Mr. Yu in the future, this deadpan man has been led astray...

Qian tucked away her phone, shrugging and spreading her hands. Mr. Yu had no sense of moderation, indulging in daylight pleasures.

Three days later, during her class-free time, Qian went shopping, wanting to buy some coasters for her new home. Walking through the shopping street, she saw Da Yi and a few familiar faces holding some forms, pulling people to fill them.

”Qian!” An upperclassman saw Qian and waved vigorously.
