The seventh wave passed like a breeze. This time Vritra’s challenge wasn’t just to kill all the demons without getting injured at all but also to kill more Demonic Wyrms than any of the Soul Wraiths.

Those things became a killing machine in this wave. Even though the opponents were much stronger, Vritra successfully killed nearly 30,000 Demonic Wyrms, some of which he kept as emergency rations and some for corpse explosions.

But he used most for raising an ultimate Soul Wraith, which was even stronger than the previous ones. Devouring was truly magical, letting the Soul Wraiths grow at such incredible speed.

After the new monster was born and he had finished upgrading his Axes of Chaos to an even more destructive level, Vritra faced the 8th wave of demons.

Either he was slaughtering the demons and talking to Yasmine, or eating the demons and talking to Yasmine. He didn’t rest much and gave all his time to grind up levels.

The demonic energy in his body was increasing constantly but now it was gathered in the core. For now he could only use it to summon that purple flame, but Vritra felt that in the future that Essence Core might be even more useful.

Soon the eighth round began and another round of slaughter took place; it was too one-sided. The other side stood absolutely no chance of winning.

[Quest: Survive the Eighth Wave.]

[Reward: 45 Allocation Points and the title: The Cursed Hunter (Level 8)!!]

[Penalty: None]

This time he faced a new type of demons, the mages who had strong spells but weak defence. Although their combat strength had increased greatly, if they couldn’t hit Vritra then it was useless.

++++++++++++++++

Race: Hellmancer

Level: 288

Class: Demonic Mage

++++++++++++++++

With their weak defences and low strength, they were even weaker than Wyrms and killing them was easier, though dodging their attacks was a bit difficult for his Soul Wraiths.

Not to mention the debuffs, so the efficiency decreased by a bit. Yet in the end, Vritra managed to kill more than 20,000 Hellmancers. He followed the same regimen and kept some corpses for explosion and used the others to create another abomination.

After a month-long battle, the eighth wave finally ended and the familiar messages poured in front of Vritra.

But there was one big change this month, a new message had finally appeared that Vritra was badly waiting for.

++++++++++++

[Your skill has Levelled Up]

[Dust Manipulation has advanced to Level 5.]

[Granular Solidification has now transformed into Elemental Transmutation.]

++++++++++++

”Elemental Transmutation, so basically it allows me to infuse dust with elemental energies. With enough mana I can now create large cyclones, make erupting volcanoes or even turn everything into Iceland.” Vritra pondered after reading the description of his new skill. It was truly becoming SSS+ from a trash skill.

His control over dust had increased by a lot and the skill itself had gotten quite strong. He was now able to kill the demons using Dust Manipulation.

The ninth and tenth waves passed. Yasmine watched as he became much more monstrous than those pitiful demons. His level kept increasing rapidly, and those Soul Wraiths kept getting stronger.

In the last two waves, Vritra first faced Golems that were made of almost indestructible flesh. Their defence was extremely high and they were quite difficult to kill. Their strength had increased greatly.

And at last Vritra faced Chimeras. They were disgusting-looking creatures that were made from dead bodies of demons and possessed random abilities. Killing them was quite tricky since all of them were different.

When he obtained the final level of the title ”Cursed Hunter,” he was rewarded an additional 100 Allocation Points and ten Luck points, which was a great gift.

After he was finally done killing all ten of the waves, Vritra sat calmly on a chair in a new set of clothes and looked completely clean without any blood on his body. His current appearance was simply dazzling.

Yasmine was coiled around his body while her head rested comfortably on his lap. Vritra was caressing her head as she lay there with her eyes closed and released contented sighs every once in a while. After months together, they had gotten very close.

Vritra looked at everything that he had gained after this trip. He had already added all his Allocation Points to Agility, since it increases his reaction speed too, and with Shift he could adjust at any time.

Vritra had removed the five previous Soul Wraiths since their levels were too low for his current use and he allowed the new five to devour them, letting them become even stronger.

Just those Soul Wraiths had increased Vritra’s strength exponentially, not to mention all his other gains. It wouldn’t be wrong to say this trip back into the labyrinth had increased his strength more than ten times.

And now he was finally done with all the work he needed to do here.

”Haa, that was a long but fun time. With your current strength, you could have easily beaten Diana to a pulp. Her holy powers could be annoying but she would still be no match for you,” Yasmine spoke as she looked at his status window with half-opened eyes, enjoying his caress.

”Yeah, we are finally done with this wretched but great place. Now it is time to return,” Vritra spoke, as the five monsters disappeared into his shadows. Zengis and Axes of Chaos returned to his inventory.
