Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

”I know.”

Zhang Yi rolled his eyes and ended his conversation with Deng Shentong.

He already understood the other party’s organizational nature. It seemed they might be trying to recruit him into their membership.

Zhang Yi wasn’t averse to being recruited, provided there were sufficient benefits.

As for the ”gift” the other party mentioned, that was probably the benefit of joining.

After confirming there was indeed no danger in his surroundings, Zhang Yi finally revealed himself voluntarily, appearing before Pratt.

”You came looking for me. What do you want to give me?”

Zhang Yi asked bluntly. He wasn’t someone who liked to beat around the bush with others, especially strangers whose intentions were unclear.

Pratt looked at Zhang Yi, a smile appearing on his face.

”We know that you will soon face an extremely perilous battle! So we hope to provide you with some assistance.”

As he spoke, he reached his hand backward, and a fully armed soldier behind him came forward carrying a box.

Zhang Yi’s brow furrowed. ”Just stay right there!”

He didn’t let the soldier approach any further, instead quietly activating his Dimensional Gate. The moment things went south, he would immediately flee.

Pratt had never encountered such a cautious person before and was left utterly speechless.

He thought to himself, I’m just an ordinary person. If I dared to mess with a Black Chariot-tier Transcendent like you, wouldn’t that be pure suicide?

”Alright.”

Pratt was quite helpless, but still reached out himself to open that heavy black metal box.

As the box opened, a transparent square case appeared before Zhang Yi.

An incredibly familiar aura made Zhang Yi’s blood tremble.

Inside the transparent case lay a fist-sized silver crystal, flowing with a mysterious luster.

That was unmistakably the aura of God Essence.

Zhang Yi’s heart shook. He hadn’t expected that the gift the other party spoke of would be so precious!

One had to know that after the apocalypse, many great nations had been willing to start wars just to fight over a single portion of God Essence!

One portion of God Essence represented one Epsilon-class Transcendent.

The Eye organization was actually giving something like this to Zhang Yi as a welcoming gift?

Zhang Yi desperately needed it right now, because by his side there were still many people who needed to improve their strength, so they could provide him with assistance in future wars.

But amid his excitement, Zhang Yi still looked at Pratt very cautiously.

”God Essence? You’re giving this thing to me?”

He could hardly believe it.

Pratt smiled slightly. ”Yes, Lord Chaos. This is the gift that our Eye organization presents to you!”

Zhang Yi thought for a moment, then said with a serious expression, ”If I accept it, does that mean I have to join your organization?”

Hearing this, Pratt smiled and waved his hand. ”No, no, no. We don’t use such crude methods to recruit members. Hmm, let me put it this way: within our organization, existences like yourself are not few in number.”

”Even if you wanted to join the Eye organization, you would still have to pass review by our committee.”

”We simply wish to help Your Excellency win this critical war.”

”Additionally, if you can demonstrate outstanding performance, we will consider inviting you to join.”

Zhang Yi’s mouth twitched.

Good heavens, was this Eye organization really that arrogant?

He was, after all, a Black Chariot-tier Transcendent, one of only a handful in the entire world. Yet this Wilder Pratt before him didn’t seem to take him all that seriously.

On this point, Zhang Yi had misunderstood.

The Eye organization’s membership principles were extremely strict. Even in the apocalypse, strength was only part of the testing criteria.

If one could not satisfy their core requirements, no matter how powerful, they would firmly reject their membership.

This had a great deal to do with the core rules of the Eye organization.

But this rule, even within the Eye organization, was only known to a select few members above level 30.

Zhang Yi didn’t care about any of that. His gaze had already been drawn to the God Essence.

Something given to him for free, why wouldn’t he take it?

”Then I’ll thank Your Excellency for your kind intentions!”

Zhang Yi said with a smile, then raised his hand. The case containing the God Essence floated up directly from the soldier’s hands and then disappeared into Zhang Yi’s dimensional space.

Pratt placed his right hand in front of his chest and gave a slight bow.

”On behalf of our chairman, Mr. Montesquieu, I send you greetings! Wishing you a great victory in this battle!”

Having said that, Pratt turned and boarded the Armed Helicopter, leaving Tianhai City without the slightest reluctance.

Leaving Zhang Yi standing alone in place, dazed.

This kind of pie-falling-from-the-sky good fortune was something he had never even dared to imagine.

Yet unexpectedly, today it had actually happened to him.

”Whatever, if they give it to me, I’ll take it. You people insisted on giving it to me. In the future, if you bring it up, I won’t care.”

Zhang Yi didn’t overthink it. Right now, the most important thing was to improve his own strength. God Essence was of course something he had to accept.

But who should he give it to?

Lu Keran, Yang Xinxin, or someone else?

Uncle You and Fatty Xu’s talent ceilings weren’t high. Even if they used God Essence to reach Epsilon-class, the time required wouldn’t be short, and their ceilings would still be limited.

Lu Keran’s ability was mainly in the engineering field and couldn’t be directly applied to combat.

Although Yang Xinxin’s rule-based ability was very powerful, she had never cared much about improving her own ability index.

And the next battle could happen at any moment. Zhang Yi had to find a way to use this important resource to boost his own strength.

He thought for a moment, then looked at the dark silver ring on his right hand.

Sensing the aura of the God Essence, the ring also trembled slightly. That was a living being’s instinctive desire to evolve to a higher level.

An idea had long existed in his heart.

That was to use the God Essence or the Rite Spirit to elevate the Sword in the Tree to Epsilon-class as well!

”Upgrading my weapon can maximize the improvement of my strength. Let’s do it that way!”

Zhang Yi didn’t rush to absorb the God Essence. Instead, he first returned to the shelter and called Zhou Ke’er over to conduct rigorous testing.

After confirming there were no radioactive substances or other things harmful to the body within the God Essence, he finally released the Sword in the Tree with peace of mind.

The instant the Sword in the Tree was released, it greedily surged toward that silver gem, then rapidly wrapped it up entirely, frantically absorbing all the evolutionary power within!

A moment later, the Sword in the Tree finished absorbing.

It contentedly transformed into a sprawl of limp branches, immersed in the pleasure brought by this delicious divine substance.

”This thing is already brain-dead. What it is now is a true vegetative plant with only instincts. Who knows how long it would take by natural means for it to reach Epsilon-class.”

”If only there were a way to help it accelerate its growth!”

Zhang Yi said softly.
