Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Li Changgong’s ability was an extremely dangerous space-type skill.

If one were to evaluate purely on the space-type level alone, the danger level of his ability even surpassed that of Zhang Yi.

After all, this was a guy who had maxed out his offensive output.

Zhang Yi had once given Li Changgong an assessment: if given the right opportunity, no matter how many points higher an opponent’s ability index was than his, there was a chance they would die beneath his twin blades.

If it weren’t for his possession of [Tracking of All Things], Zhang Yi would never willingly approach him in any setting.

Silver Armor was well aware of this as well.

That was why his very first reaction was to create distance between himself and Li Changgong, then slowly torture him to death using smoke!

Because no matter how fast a man wielding twin blades could strike, he could never slice through all of his smoke!

Silver Armor soared into the air, and Li Changgong instantly realized what the other man was planning.

He had to slay his opponent’s true body in order to win this battle!

”Thinking of running? Did you ask me first?”

Li Changgong took a step forward, [Boundless Across the Six Realms] activating instantly as he shot toward the sky!

Silver Armor waved his hand broadly, and massive amounts of black smoke once again condensed into an inverted pyramid shape, then surged toward him in countless black smoke barrages!

Each barrage shifted in shape unpredictably, like walls as thin as cicada wings rising across the sky, finely slicing apart the entire space between him and Li Changgong.

Li Changgong dared not casually activate his ability again, or else his body might be directly severed the moment he teleported!

”Break for me, break, break!!”

Li Changgong swung his twin blades in rapid succession, shredding every incoming smoke barrage before his eyes.

But Silver Armor had already flown high into the sky, maintaining a distance of several thousand meters between them.

From his commanding height, he raised both hands toward the heavens.

”Rise! Black smoke!”

In an instant, from every district throughout the entire city of Chang’an, massive plumes of black smoke erupted skyward. Within less than ten seconds, the whole city was transformed into a land shrouded in darkness!

These were the black smoke trails Silver Armor had left behind when he arrived, capable of generating even more smoke by drawing upon the bodies of living creatures.

And now, they were summoned by Silver Armor, surging toward this region with deceptive speed, seeming slow but moving incredibly fast!

[Sky War God] Bai Zhan stood amidst the battlefield at that moment. Seeing the sky-blotting, sun-veiling smoke that darkened the entire city, he too couldn’t help but freeze in place.

Massive black smoke had already risen over a thousand meters high. Aside from the central area he was maintaining that hadn’t yet been completely covered, the remaining eighty percent of the city was already engulfed in black smoke!

Against black fog of this scale, no matter how fast his speed was, he couldn’t possibly dispel it all!

But he gritted his teeth, his form twisting in midair, light and shadow distorting from his excessive speed.

”Whoosh-”

He transformed into a storm of flames, sprinting at high speed through Chang’an City, doing his utmost in his own way to dispel as much of the black fog as possible.

His efforts were not in vain, though compared to the smoke blanketing the entire city, what he could disperse was extremely limited.

Massive amounts of black smoke converged upon the city center, the battlefield between Silver Armor and Li Changgong.

The pervasive haze was so thick that even Li Changgong’s vision was severely impaired.

Silver Armor vanished into the smoke, and his trail soon became impossible to track.

”Whoosh-”

...

One vicious attack after another came at Li Changgong from all manner of tricky angles. Concealed by the thick smoke, Silver Armor’s assaults became increasingly difficult to defend against.

Li Changgong held his breath and steadied his mind, refusing to panic. He whipped his blades around in several backhanded strikes, brilliant arcs of blade light slashing through the air and shattering Silver Armor’s attacks outright!

”But how much longer can you hold out?”

”This place is already my domain now!”

”Just surrender obediently! You simply don’t have the power to block my attacks!”

Silver Armor’s voice came from every direction, distant and echoing.

He lurked within the shadows, unhurried and unflustered, like a patient hunter.

But upon hearing those words, Li Changgong burst into loud laughter, laughing with utter delight.

”Hahahahaha!”

Silver Armor furrowed his brow.

”What are you laughing at?”

Li Changgong laughed heartily, ”I just heard a very funny joke, and I couldn’t help myself!”

His gaze turned sharp as he sneered, ”Did you just say that this place is already your domain?”

”Who gave you the confidence to be this arrogant and deluded?!”

He spread his arms wide, twin long blades gleaming with frigid white light.

”In this Northwest Major Region, in this Chang’an City, only I, Li Changgong, am the absolute sovereign!”

”This place is MY territory!”

The moment his words fell, his combat suit violently burst apart!

What was revealed beneath it was a suit of armor forged from dark silver metal!

Unlike Zhang Yi’s Hidden Dragon Armor, the craftsmanship of this armor clearly wasn’t up to Lu Keran’s seamless, heaven-made skill.

Yet it was still extremely ornate, and its surface was covered with countless tiny firing ports.

”I don’t need anyone to remind me where my weaknesses lie, of course I know them myself!”

”So if you people were going to target me, did you really think I wouldn’t prepare for it?”

Li Changgong laughed.

”Sirius, activate!”

The intelligent voice of the [Sirius] war armor echoed in his ear, ”Received!”

The next moment, from the countless firing ports across Li Changgong’s armor, silent shockwaves radiated outward in every direction!

And all the black smoke surrounding him began to rapidly recede, like snow meeting the sun!

...

In Li Changgong’s life, the first half had been smooth sailing all the way, almost without encountering any setbacks.

Even when he later joined the military, he rose through the ranks without interruption.

After the apocalypse, possessing extraordinary talent, he had relied on absolute power to forcibly seize the position of Supreme Commander of the Northwest Major Region!

This unbroken streak of success lasted all the way until he traveled to the Shengjing district and encountered that man named Zhang Yi.

His defeat in that duel against Zhang Yi was the first major blow he had suffered in his entire life.

Later, when he went beneath the Qinling Mountains and had an arm severed by the Ground Centipede Worm King, that was the second major blow he endured.

After returning from Shengjing, he began to reflect deeply on his abilities.

Strong as they were, his weaknesses were all too obvious.

His attack range was limited, focused primarily on close-quarters combat. If he encountered enemies with powerful long-range attack methods, he would be at a disadvantage.

He leaned toward single-target attacks. Originally, he had compensated for this with his attack speed, allowing him to swiftly slaughter groups.

However, if he encountered possessors of special abilities, it was equally difficult for him to bring his full strength to bear.

For instance, illusions.

For another instance, Zhang Yi’s [War King].

By the same logic, these were all long-range, wide-coverage attacks that couldn’t be effectively countered.

Extending from that line of reasoning, it led to smoke, light, flames, pure transcendental energy attacks, and so on, and so forth.
