Helping Beautiful Women Become Stronger, I Have a Love System

110: Chapter 110 I don’t know how to repay youOver the next few days, Cao Kun visited the hospital every day.

Sometimes he brought food, sometimes he just sat for a while to talk with her.

He never asked about her and Liu Zhen, nor did he pressure her to make any decisions; he simply let her focus on recovering.

Feng Hua Lian’s initial wariness gradually turned into trust.

She discovered that this man was unlike anyone she had ever known before.

He was powerful, but he didn’t use that power to oppress others.

He was wealthy, but he didn’t use his wealth to show off.

He helped her, but he never asked for anything in return.

On the fourth day, the swelling on Feng Hua Lian’s face had mostly subsided, and she was able to get out of bed and walk around.

Cao Kun came to pick her up from the hospital; all the discharge procedures had been completed.

He had advanced the payment for all her medical expenses.

“This money... I will definitely pay you back later.” Feng Hua Lian looked at the figures on the payment slip, her heart filled with unease.

“No rush.” Cao Kun helped her carry her simple luggage. “First, let’s find a place to stay. You can’t go back to your old place; Liu Zhen knows where it is.”

“I can stay in a hotel for now...”

“I’ve already rented an apartment,” Cao Kun interrupted her. “Don’t worry, it’s not for free. Once your injuries are healed, come work at my company, and the rent will be deducted from your salary.”

Feng Hua Lian was stunned. “Your... your company?”

“Shining Radiance Advertising. We do design work. Aren’t you a college student? You should be able to handle copywriting and planning.” Cao Kun spoke nonchalantly, as if everything had been planned long ago.

The car drove into a mid-range Residential Complex named ’Yuelan Bay.’

The environment here was clean, with access control and security guards; it was a completely different world from ’Jinxiu Home.’

Cao Kun had rented a two-bedroom apartment. It was fully renovated and furnished with appliances, and the south-facing balcony overlooked the central garden of the complex.

“This... this is too expensive.” Feng Hua Lian stood at the door, not daring to enter. “Mr. Cao, I can’t afford a place like this...”

“The monthly rent is 3,500. I’ve already paid the first month and the security deposit,” Cao Kun pressed the keys into her hand. “Once you start working, your monthly salary is tentatively set at 10,000. After deducting the rent, you’ll have 6,500 left, which is enough to live on.”

A monthly salary of 10,000 was an astronomical figure to Feng Hua Lian. At her previous company, she had worked as a clerk for only 4,500 a month, and Liu Zhen had taken all of it.

“Why... are you being so good to me?” she asked the question once more.

This time, Cao Kun looked at her seriously. “Feng Hua Lian, you’re only twenty-three. Your life is just beginning. Don’t think you don’t deserve a good life just because you met a piece of scum. This apartment and this job aren’t charity; they are my investment in your future. I believe you are worth it.”

Feng Hua Lian’s tears burst forth like a broken dam.

This time, it wasn’t out of fear or feeling wronged, but the emotion of truly being seen and respected by someone.

...

After staying in the hospital for a week, Feng Hua Lian’s external injuries had basically healed.

Cao Kun accompanied her back to ’Jinxiu Home’ to pack her things.

The door to Room 401 was slightly ajar.

Pushing the door open, the sight inside made Feng Hua Lian gasp.

It was even messier than when she had left.

Wine bottles littered the floor, cigarette butts were piled up, and the air was thick with the smell of sourness and mold.

Liu Zhen was not there.

“Pack quickly, just take the important things,” Cao Kun said.

Feng Hua Lian didn’t have many belongings: a few pieces of clothing, a few books, and some documents.

She could fit everything into one old suitcase.

“That’s all of it.” She zipped up the suitcase.

Just as the two were about to leave, the sound of footsteps and humming came from outside the door.

Liu Zhen was back.

He saw Cao Kun and Feng Hua Lian and was momentarily stunned before flying into a rage. “Fuck! You dare to come back? And you brought this pretty boy with you?”

Feng Hua Lian took a step back in fear, but Cao Kun stood in front of her.

“Liu Zhen, we’ve broken up,” Feng Hua Lian said, summoning her courage. “I’m here today to get my things. From now on... don’t come looking for me again.”

“Break up?” Liu Zhen acted as if he had heard a huge joke. “Did I agree to that? I’m telling you, Feng Hua Lian, you’re mine in life and you’ll be my ghost in death! You want to leave? Pay back the money you owe me first!”

“I owe you money?” Feng Hua Lian was incredulous. “Liu Zhen, for the past few years, my entire salary went to you. You forced me to get those credit cards and online loans. Who owes who exactly?”

“Cut the bullshit!” Liu Zhen pointed at Cao Kun. “What’s this? Found a new backer? You think this kid actually likes you? He just wants to play with you and toss you aside when he’s bored! I’m the only one who doesn’t look down on you, understand?”

Cao Kun finally spoke, his voice terrifyingly calm. “Are you finished?”

Liu Zhen was intimidated by his aura but remained stubborn. “Who the hell are you? What business of ours is it to you?”

“First, you two are not a couple.”

Cao Kun took a step forward. “Second, I’ve decided to make her business my business.”

“Third...”

He paused, his gaze turning cold. “I’ll give you two choices. Either disappear starting today and never show your face in front of Feng Hua Lian again, or I’ll make it so you can’t stay in Zhongzhou.”

Liu Zhen was provoked.

He pulled a switchblade from his waist and snapped it open. “Who are you trying to scare? I was stabbing people while you were still breastfeeding!”

The blade gleamed with a cold light.

Feng Hua Lian screamed, “Mr. Cao, be careful!”

But Cao Kun moved faster than her voice.

Liu Zhen only felt a blur before his eyes and a sharp pain in his wrist; the knife had already left his hand.

The next second, he took a heavy blow to the stomach. He doubled over in pain, only to be struck in the face by an elbow, sending blood spraying from his nose.

He wasn’t finished yet.

Cao Kun grabbed his hair and slammed his head against the wall with a dull thud.

Then, with a kick to the back of his knee, Liu Zhen fell to the floor with a thud.

The entire process took less than five seconds.

Liu Zhen lay on the ground, his face covered in blood, his head ringing.

He tried to crawl up, but Cao Kun’s foot was planted on his back, pinning him down like a mountain.

“What did you just say?” Cao Kun leaned down and whispered in his ear. “Stabbing people?”

Liu Zhen wanted to curse, but he only spat out bloody foam when he opened his mouth.

“Listen.” Cao Kun’s voice was soft, yet every word was crystal clear. “From today on, stay away from Feng Hua Lian. If you ever show up in front of her again, or if you dare to threaten her or her family...”

He applied more pressure with his foot, making Liu Zhen scream in pain.

“I’ll show you what real violence is.” Cao Kun released his foot and kicked him aside like a piece of trash. “Get out.”

Liu Zhen scrambled out of the room, not even daring to look back.

Feng Hua Lian watched everything in a daze. She knew Cao Kun could fight, but she hadn’t expected him to be this formidable. The demon who had tormented her for three years was like a child before Cao Kun.

“Let’s go.” Cao Kun picked up the suitcase as if nothing had happened.

On the way back to ’Yuelan Bay,’ Feng Hua Lian remained silent.

It wasn’t until they reached the complex entrance that she said softly, “Mr. Cao, thank you. But... Liu Zhen won’t just let this go. He knows many...”

“I know.” Cao Kun parked the car. “You don’t need to worry about me.”

“I’ll be coming over frequently to accompany you lately, to prevent Liu Zhen from doing anything to you.”

Feng Hua Lian looked at him, her eyes turning red again. “I really... don’t know how to repay you.”

“Living your life well is the best repayment.” Cao Kun smiled.
