Helping Beautiful Women Become Stronger, I Have a Love System

16: Chapter 16 Business Trip with My Female BossAt Ji Guangli’s signal, Cao Kun dialed Li Bin’s number.

The call was quickly connected, and the voice on the other end sounded capable and polite.

”Hello, Manager Li, I’m Cao Kun from Xingchen Advertising. Secretary Long introduced me to contact you...”

”Oh, hello Mr. Cao! Secretary Long already mentioned it to me.” Li Bin’s tone was very friendly.

”I know about your Xingchen Advertising; it seems a colleague visited before.”

”I have a general understanding of the company’s qualifications and past cases. Since Secretary Long spoke up this time, and it’s for relatively standardized business like packaging materials, there’s no problem with the cooperation.”

”Get the contract ready, set the price according to market standards, and I can sign it directly on my end.”

Not expecting the other party to be so straightforward, Cao Kun felt a surge of joy and quickly said, ”Thank you so much, Manager Li! We want to move forward as soon as possible. Would it be convenient if we came to the City of Luo to find you today or tomorrow?”

Li Bin pondered for a moment. ”Tomorrow morning, then. I have a half-hour window between 8:30 and 9:00 AM tomorrow. You can come then, we’ll meet to sign the contract, and we can discuss the specific details further.”

”Great, great! No problem! Then we will arrive at your designated location punctually at 8:30 AM tomorrow morning.”

After the two parties agreed to meet in the lobby of a business hotel near the Xuefen Branch Factory in the City of Luo, they ended the call.

Things were progressing so smoothly and the goal was right before their eyes; Cao Kun and Ji Guangli looked at each other, both seeing the excitement and exhilaration in each other’s eyes.

”Boss, when do we set off? Meeting at 8:30 tomorrow morning is a bit of an awkward time.”

Cao Kun was calculating.

It took about an hour and a half to two hours to drive from Zhongzhou to the City of Luo. If they left tomorrow morning, it meant having to wake up at five or six in the morning and rushing there, which might leave them in poor condition.

If they went today, they would need to stay overnight in the City of Luo.

Ji Guangli hardly hesitated; the high pressure of the past few days made her desperately need a chance to breathe.

”Let’s go today. Arriving in the City of Luo early will allow us to be more composed. And...”

She paused, her tone relaxing slightly, ”The City of Luo is a tourist city. If there’s time tonight, we can walk around nearby a bit and relax. The pressure lately has indeed been too much.”

”I’ll book the high-speed rail tickets now.”

Cao Kun hurriedly interrupted Ji Guangli.

”Boss, why don’t we take my car instead! It’s more convenient that way, and we’ll have more freedom coming and going.”

Ji Guangli remembered Cao Kun saying he would drive her a few days ago, but she had been distracted and rejected him outright back then.

Thinking about it now, driving was fine too.

”Alright, let’s drive then. The round-trip fuel and tolls will all be reimbursed according to the company’s business trip standards. I’ll prepare the contract and relevant documents now. You go get ready, and we’ll set off as soon as possible.”

”Understood!” Cao Kun walked out of the manager’s office full of energy.

As soon as he came out, he was immediately surrounded by colleagues who had long been unable to contain their curiosity.

”Brother Kun! That’s awesome! Did you really land the Xuefen deal?”

”Cao Kun, you’ve been hiding your light under a bushel! To think you have such powerful connections!”

”Now our Department Two can finally hold our heads high! Brother Kun, I’m following your lead from now on!”

”Two or three million! How much will the commission be? I’m dying of envy!”

”Treat us! You must treat us!”

The jumble of praise and amazement made Cao Kun feel wonderful, and the smugness he had slightly restrained in front of Ji Guangli surfaced again.

He smiled and humored them with a few words: ”Luck, just good luck. Once the contract is actually signed, I’ll treat everyone to a meal!”

Half an hour later, Ji Guangli walked out of the office holding a prepared document bag and clapped her hands for everyone to be quiet: ”Everyone, Cao Kun and I need to go on a business trip to the City of Luo for a day or two to handle a matter for an important client. Everyone, follow the routine and do your work well; contact me by phone if there are any emergencies.”

After saying that, she and Cao Kun left the office area together.

The moment they left, the discussion behind them exploded.

”My god, it really happened? The manager even has to go personally to sign the contract?”

”Cao Kun has achieved something big this time; maybe he really will get a promotion!”

”Going on a business trip with a beautiful boss... I feel like I’ve seen this plot somewhere before?” someone said, winking.

”In Japanese films, right? Hehe, don’t say it, it really does feel a bit like that...”

”I’m so jealous! Not only can he achieve great things, but he also gets to spend time alone with a goddess...”

”Do you think they might...” The fires of gossip began to burn fiercely.

...

Just as Cao Kun and Ji Guangli walked out of the Sales Department area, they ran into a beaming Su Hongliang in the hallway.

He felt that victory was within his grasp lately, and he walked with a spring in his step.

Seeing Ji Guangli and Cao Kun walking out together, especially since Ji Guangli was holding a document bag, he immediately approached like a cat that had smelled fish.

”Oh, Manager Ji, going out to drum up business?”

Su Hongliang deliberately emphasized the words ’drum up business’ with a sneer. ”Why are you bringing a little lackey along? You aren’t desperately turning to anyone for help and going to some backwater corner to try your luck, are you?”

”If you ask me, some things aren’t meant to be, so don’t force it. Admit defeat early, and your posture might look a bit better.”

Ji Guangli was originally in a good mood, but being provoked by him, her face immediately turned cold: ”Manager Su, the outcome isn’t decided yet; isn’t it a bit too early for you to be happy? It’s not certain yet who will win or lose.”

Cao Kun had long disliked this snob and immediately chimed in from the side: ”Exactly, Manager Su. Don’t pop the champagne at halftime, or you might end up celebrating nothing in the end. That would be truly embarrassing.”

Being contradicted by a small fry like Cao Kun, Su Hongliang instantly flared up in anger and pointed at Cao Kun: ”What kind of thing are you? You think you’re worthy of speaking to me? Popping champagne at halftime? I’m telling you, I already have one hand on the General Manager’s chair! It’s a done deal!”

Looking at Su Hongliang’s exasperated appearance, Cao Kun’s eyes darted around, and an idea popped into his head.

He deliberately said in a provocative tone: ”Manager Su is so confident? Then do you dare to make a bet?”

”A bet? On what?” Su Hongliang narrowed his eyes.

”Let’s bet on who the Sales Manager position belongs to.”

Cao Kun said slowly, ”If our Department Two wins in the end, you will crawl from the first floor to the third floor in front of all the company colleagues, barking like a dog as you crawl, for three full laps. If we lose, I’ll crawl. How about it? Do you dare?”

Ji Guangli was startled when she heard this and secretly tugged at the corner of Cao Kun’s clothes, whispering: ”Cao Kun! Don’t be impulsive!”

After all, the contract hadn’t been signed yet. What if there was a change?

Cao Kun turned back and gave her an exceptionally firm and confident look, whispering: ”Boss, trust me.”

For some reason, seeing this look from Cao Kun, Ji Guangli’s racing heart strangely settled down.

That feeling of baseless trust emerged again; she actually believed that Cao Kun could handle it.

She let go of her hand and stopped preventing him.

Su Hongliang was startled at first, thinking there was a trick, but on second thought, Ji Guangli had just lost an important client and had a clear performance gap. He had a huge advantage, so how could he lose?

This Cao Kun was probably just bluffing or simply acting out of desperation to scare him off.

He immediately relaxed, a contemptuous smile appearing on his face: ”Heh, reverse psychology? I’ll grant your wish! A bet it is! Whoever goes back on it is a grandson! But your level isn’t high enough; if there’s a bet, let Ji Guangli do it.”

”Fine, I’ll bet with you,” Ji Guangli stepped forward.

”Good, good, good, but words alone are no proof...”

”Of course it won’t be just words.” Cao Kun was prepared; he pulled out his phone, opened the video recording function, and pointed it at Su Hongliang. ”Manager Su, repeat the terms of the bet to the camera so no one can back out later.”

Su Hongliang was stunned by this move, but the arrow was on the string, and coupled with his absolute confidence, he simply repeated the bet clearly to the camera.

Finally, he added: ”I, Su Hongliang, keep my word! Ji Guangli, you just get ready to crawl!”
