The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

It has been two months since the last phone call with Head Grandpa.

As the leader of the Special Department, Shen Cang rarely goes on missions himself. According to the recollection of the captains in the Special Department, it had been ten years since he last personally took on a mission.

Everyone was very curious about what kind of arduous mission he had received that required his personal involvement.

After two months of waiting, it was not the returning Shen Cang who arrived, but another elderly man.

”Hello everyone, I will temporarily serve as the head of the Special Department from now on.”

Suddenly, everyone was in an uproar.

”Where’s the Head?”

”Has the Head... completed his mission?”

”Did something happen to the Head?”

The elder maintained a smile and did not answer.

Little Taotie looked up at him. The young girl recognized this elder; he was the elderly man she met in the rundown laboratory during a mission. It seemed he had returned from a foreign country.

During that mission, Little Taotie crawled into a duct and caught a terrifying Ghost that was somewhat human. But there were far more terrifying things in the duct than this Ghost, and Little Taotie had only caught the weakest one.

The mission was undertaken alongside Mo Haihao. At the time, Mo Haihao was eager to succeed. After returning, Shen Cang had a talk with him and informed him of the elder’s past. He was also from the Special Department but chose to leave to protect his family and went abroad to take on tasks.

No one expected that someone who had left the Special Department would return in this manner.

This person didn’t mention the Head at all, which made everyone even more worried.

”Tell us, did something happen to the Head?”

”If nothing happened, the Head wouldn’t hand this over to an outsider!”

The elder sighed, the smile on his face vanished, his expression turned serious, and his eyes showed sadness: ”He’s missing.”

Just four simple words, yet they were like a thunderbolt out of a clear sky.

The Special Department fell into a dead silence.

”Where did he go missing?” asked a child’s voice.

While all the adults were in a panic, stunned by the news, a little boy walked up to the elder, looked up, eyes calm, and voice steady, inquiring.

The elder lowered his head, met the child’s gaze, was startled, and then forced a smile: ”If I knew, I would have gone to find him, instead of coming here to clean up the mess.”

With this statement, everyone drew a sharp breath.

Hua Jinyan pressed his lips tightly together.

Little Taotie walked up to Hua Jinyan, reached out to hold Hua Jinyan’s hand, and looked up at the elder: ”Do you know what mission Head Grandpa was on?”

The elder looked at the two children in surprise. The boy’s calm inquiry already made him take notice, but now the girl’s incisive question left him very surprised.

While the adults present were still in shock, unable to react, the two children were the first to calm down and analyze the situation.

”I don’t know the specifics, only that he caught several thousand-year spirits, followed their lead to a terrifying place, and lost contact.”

”Thousand-year spirits?” Little Taotie’s eyes widened as she turned to look at Yuanyuan and Jiang Si.

Yuanyuan and Jiang Si were frozen in place, filled with shock.

These spirits were caught abroad, they were part of the Big Stomach King competition, along with their companions.

They did indeed say they came from a terrifying place, but no one expected the Head would actually go there.

Little Taotie: ”I know where those thousand-year spirits came from. If we go to that place, maybe we will find something.”
