The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1437: Chapter 1437: The Disappointing New Emperor

Faced with two children, the guards couldn’t really raise their blades to flay them, even though the New Emperor was furious, shouting that he wanted them all beheaded, they just couldn’t do it.

Most of the Imperial Palace Guards came from noble families themselves and were not the kind to strictly obey orders. Plus, the New Emperor hadn’t been on the throne for long and hadn’t yet earned their loyalty. Actually, all the things the New Emperor had done since taking the throne had been quite disappointing.

”Are you all tired of living? If you’re not afraid of death, what about your families?”

Hearing the threat in his words, a few were somewhat shaken, but their companions restrained them.

”Today it’s killing two children, and what about in the future? If His Majesty is so brutal, are we truly to become his butcher’s blade? Our families will understand us!”

”My grandfather always said, a real man knows what should and should not be done! I absolutely will not do this today!”

”My children are about the same age as them, how could I possibly do it?”

”Your Majesty, we are incompetent. Please punish us!”

One took the lead in kneeling to plead guilty, and one by one, others knelt down, forming a thick black mass.

The mortal Emperor was about to explode with anger, jumping up and down on the spot: ”Good, good, good! Every one of you is commendable! If you don’t listen to me, there’s no point in keeping you! Shadow, at my command! Leave none of them!”

A Hidden Guard dressed in black tight clothing appeared before everyone; he was the leader of the Hidden Guards, Shadow.

Shadow waved his hand behind him, and as his gesture fell, a black mass rushed out from behind him.

The first guard jumped up to resist, and then one by one, the guards raised their large sabers to fight back.

The Hidden Guards were carefully selected talents, and although these Imperial Palace Guards were slightly inferior, they were not that far off and could block a few moves to some extent.

As the two sides clashed, Feng Qi, who had become the catalyst for the whole incident, was watching the spectacle with a detached expression.

The mortal Emperor, furious and unable to contain his rage, warned the guards not to be unwise, to surrender if they didn’t want their families to be buried with them.

Some were shaken, but there were others who advised them not to waver, so the situation did not change, and the guards continued to stubbornly fight against the Hidden Guards.

The mortal Emperor stormed towards Little Taotie and Feng Qi, ”They’re just two little things! I’ll deal with them personally!”

He held a dagger in his hand, looking fierce and as if he would skin Feng Qi and Little Taotie alive.

This mortal Emperor, with a face full of fierce look, could indeed be terrifying; ordinary children would have been scared to tears, but he was facing two extraordinary children.

Feng Qi sneered, ”Just you? I’m standing right here without moving, and you still can’t hurt me one bit.”

These words enraged him, provoking the mortal Emperor to become even more agitated.

Originally, as Emperor, he wouldn’t have left the protective circle, but now that the Hidden Guards were fighting the guards, there was no longer an effective protective circle.

The New Emperor believed he was the child of destiny, that no one in this world could harm him, not realizing that the reason he had remained unscathed was because the Hidden Guards had been forming a human protective circle around him all along.

Today, he himself had broken this protective circle, leaving him vulnerable.

The fox is the wisest creature on the plains; when prey exposes a flaw, it swiftly seizes the opportunity!

At this moment, Feng Qi realized that the mortal Emperor had no one protecting him, having previously needed to exert every bit of speed to strike him, but now could easily beat the mortal emperor to the ground even without exerting full speed!
