Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”We’re just a little bit away, and our plan against the Hughes Clan is progressing very smoothly. Just a little more time, and we’ll slowly hollow out the Hughes Clan from within, turning it into an empty tree; no matter how good it looks, it’ll topple with just a gust of wind. But we need some more time. Boss, could you cooperate a bit with the act? I know this is difficult, but it’s the best way to quickly resolve the tangled mess. Only by destroying the foundation of the Hughes Clan will those old geezers stop interfering in everything, and no one will scrutinize your affairs with Miss Jane anymore. At the end of it, whether you’re a match or not will be entirely up to you,” Julian Carter cautiously suggested.

This was probably the longest sentence he had ever spoken in his entire life. He knew his boss really loved Avery Jane, and it seemed she was the only one he wanted to marry. But now was the most critical moment of their plan. If he openly defied the decisions of the Hughes elders now, it would certainly raise suspicions and cause unnecessary trouble.

Joshua Hughes’s chest felt as if it were being crushed by a massive boulder. He couldn’t bear for Avery Jane to suffer even a little, not even behind her back.

But this was something he had been planning for ten years, a full decade. Watching Conny Hughes live a life of ease made him want to kill him. Though killing him would be too easy, he wanted to see him lose everything, to make him suffer more than death.

”Make arrangements. Have someone take Avery Jane to Las Vegas next week for a couple of days; she likes it there.” Avery Jane had once mentioned she had a special feeling for Las Vegas. Even just sitting by the roadside with a cup of coffee felt familiar to her.

”Deploy more people, follow her 24/7, and make sure to inform the chief there as well. If anything goes wrong on his turf, don’t blame me for being ruthless.” This decision was painful; sending her off without reason seemed odd, but if someone invited her to Las Vegas for a couple of days, she wouldn’t be suspicious. Edward Parker was smart and naturally knew how to host Avery Jane and issue an invitation to her.

Now was the most crucial time, not just for his father, but also for Avery Jane.

He needed to clear all obstacles ahead so he could hold Avery Jane’s hand and stand openly before everyone, giving her a rightful identity. So until his goal was achieved, he could only act the part of an excellent actor, performing a well-rehearsed play. Let those self-righteous old folks think he’s become obedient because he’s afraid of their support for Luis Hughes. Once the Hughes Clan is hollowed out, it’ll be their turn to cry.......

Avery Jane, this is the last time I’m deceiving you, the last time my heart will be corroded by intense pain, even my deep, ocean-like eyes becoming dim.

Having washed up and changed into fresh pajamas, the spring weather was gradually warming up, yet the old Hughes Family mansion, built against the mountain, always retained a bit of dampness, especially after the rain. Thus, the fireplace was still lit, and as the quality pine wood burned, it emitted a faint pine resin fragrance. Avery Jane sat not far from the fireplace on a rug, her lake-green silk nightgown accentuating her delicate figure, lazily reminiscent of a cat, her gaze slightly hazy. Joshua Hughes opened the door and came in, his breath quickening at such a sight, his adam’s apple moving slightly.

”Why are you sitting on the floor?” Joshua Hughes walked over to her side. The dry pinewood in the fireplace crackled as it burned. Avery Jane looked at Joshua Hughes, his angular face highlighted by the firelight, his sharp features appearing even more alluring and captivating. She was slowly becoming addicted to this man. Whenever he approached her, an inexplicable longing stirred within her: a desire to be tightly embraced, caressed, or perhaps it was just the bewitching spring night, or the overly fiery blaze from the hearth. Her blushing face gradually lowered, almost unable to look at him anymore........

The pervasive air fermented with an indescribable breath. The sweet, tempting fragrance emanating from her skin made Joshua Hughes push aside her long hair, revealing the exquisite curve of her perfect cheek, her long lashes casting a bewitching, coquettish shadow on her eye sockets. Inside her loose silk gown, her ample, braless bust trembled lightly as her long legs slowly curled up tightly. Their intermingled breaths in the heated air blurred all boundaries.

”What’s wrong, Avery? Why aren’t you speaking?” Joshua Hughes’s voice was husky and low, saturated with ** and yearning.

Avery Jane’s body trembled slightly, biting her lip. Tonight felt particularly strange, as a warm current gradually surged to her lower abdomen. Propping her arms back, her pale fingers clutched the rug, even her breath became hurried.

:”Hmm......”

:”Ah......” Her voice was like a maddening poison, her entire being seemed to be on fire......

”Avery, have a taste, so sweet....” His words dissolved in their entwined lips and tongues.

:”Avery, in a couple of days, can you go to Las Vegas and handle something for me?” Joshua Hughes gently advanced, all the while softly kissing her exquisite earlobe, speaking lowly.......

”Hmm........okay......”

Indeed, he was using his body to conquer her......

”Make sure someone follows her 24/7, got it?” Joshua Hughes, satisfied with her demeanor, lightly trembled; misty eyes glistened. As he lowered his head to the silken robe, Avery Jane was already crumbling, biting her lip, her petite face turning resolutely to the side......

The mingling of bodies and intertwining breaths were all too perfect.

”Promise me, Avery, never leave me......” He tore open that lengthy nightgown, reveling in her exquisite physique, his deep, gravelly voice a blend of conquest and command.......

On the rug, their interwoven silhouettes and entangled breath penned the most romantic and chaotic Chapter of the spring night.

:”Edward Parker’s casino is reopening, and he wants me to cut the ribbon. But these days, my affairs have accumulated so much, could you do it for me?” Joshua Hughes gently kissed her sweat-slicked forehead.

:”Okay.......” Her voice was a bit hoarse, seemingly lingering with a touch of passion. Tonight he wanted to discuss serious matters with her, so earlier he merely satisfied her appetite. Her soft, compliant ”okay” nearly weakened him entirely, even with just a single word, she had a way of making him lose control. The most crucial thing now was to handle the matters of the Hughes Clan, after which he would marry her openly. But after she returned from Las Vegas, naturally, she couldn’t stay here anymore; another woman would surely move in here.

:”Avery, I have a wonderful place left by my father. It has hot springs; I’ve had it prepared for quite a while now. Shall we move there?” Joshua Hughes’s slender fingers stroked her delicate face, as if he could never get enough of her.

:”Okay......” Avery Jane felt her body soft and weak. Going to Las Vegas was fine; however, she’d miss him for several days. Not even separated yet, she already began to miss him.

”Have a great time, I’ll finish up my business and come pick you up, okay?” Joshua Hughes held her even tighter, observing her delicate and powerless form. Even her sweat carried a faint, subtle fragrance.

:”Okay........” Her fingers carelessly traced the contours of his firm, sensual chest. What had really happened in the past unbeknownst to her? Did he always love her this way? Avery Jane’s face snuggled against his chest, listening to his strong, steady heartbeat, providing such reassurance, such attachment, so reluctant to let go......

:”You’re going to have fun, leaving me alone at home. How will you make it up to me?”

The night fell silent like water, as Joshua Hughes stood by the window, his thick lashes veiling his secrets. Her departure would last two to three days, leaving his heart uneasy, although he couldn’t pinpoint why. Perhaps it was reluctance. During all this time, he had walked in darkness alone, savored the taste of solitude alone, indifferent as he drifted from one woman to another. Those women who once stayed at the Hughes Family, he couldn’t even recall their faces. But only Avery Jane, her image was indelibly etched upon his heart, unable to fade away.

He needed to accelerate these matters’ progress. In a little over a month from now, the current Hughes Clan will be replaced by a new Hughes Clan, swallowed by a stronger Hughes Clan. He will see Conny Hughes lose every penny. Every evil consequence he’s reaped, Joshua Hughes intended to force feed it to him, allowing those deeds to rot, fester, and corrode his soul. Let him go to Inferno......
