Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

It’s just a few days until the New Year, and Angela Scott is sitting on a chair, worriedly looking at her brother’s resume. Her brother is undoubtedly an excellent young man, but not excellent enough to enter the core department of the Hughes Clan. Yet, she had bragged in front of her family that she could find a decent job for her brother at Hughes Clan. At that time, her parents were overjoyed, and her brother looked at her with admiration and happiness.

What should she do when so many relatives ask about it during the Spring Festival?

She thought she had enough bargaining chips to negotiate with Joshua Hughes, but that man is truly a cold-blooded individual. After getting Avery Jane, he turned his back on her, even though she made another request to him, which was a bit untrustworthy. But arranging a job should be very easy for him; still, he coldly rejected her, not giving her a single chance.

Sometimes human nature is like this, such as Angela Scott. Because she tasted sweetness, she wanted to negotiate with Joshua Hughes again. This type of woman’s heart is never satisfied, which is why Joshua Hughes rejected her.

Moreover, having such a friend around Avery Jane is like a ticking time bomb, which is why Joshua Hughes made harsh remarks that day.

”Manager Scott, Miss Donna from Maitland Group is here.” The assistant opened the door, and a honey beauty stood outside. Despite the many models and stars under her banner, they seemed to pale in comparison to the brilliance of this woman.

Her beauty is as dazzling and intense as the sun in the sky.......

Setting the resume aside, Angela stood up warmly with a professional smile: ”Hello, Miss Donna, you are so beautiful that I dare not recommend a spokesperson for you. I fear all the girls here combined cannot match your beauty.”

Women cannot resist compliments; Donna is the same. Even though she knows Angela Scott’s words are mostly platitudes, she still enjoys them, as she is very confident in her beauty.

In the reception area, Angela Scott picked up a brochure: ”This time, I’ve selected Miss Lily Miller, who is known as the new generation’s ’oxygen beauty’ as your spokesperson for Hughes Clan’s city air purification project’s entire engineering, which is said to be a massive investment. The main technology comes from Maitland Group. She has no artificial alterations and is purely fresh and natural, perfectly fitting.”

It’s a huge project, and Hughes Clan winning the bid for such a project is undoubtedly linked to the Hughes Family’s solid background. However, the core technology still relies on Maitland Group to provide, although other groups have similar technology, Maitland Group is evidently the best choice.

With a neat short haircut and form-fitting business attire, speaking flawlessly in a formal setting, this woman certainly has the qualities for doing business. Her courage is truly remarkable—how dare she negotiate with Hughes?

She’s aware of Hughes’ temperament. Even during their previous relationship, despite his greed for her body, he never compromised on principles. Evidently, Avery Jane holds a unique place in his heart, prompting him to lower his stance and make a deal with this woman. But what truly happened? Today, she’s here to figure it out.

”Miss Scott, you certainly are eloquent. In fact, I have a connection in my collaboration with Hughes Clan.” Donna’s Chinese is quite proficient; she’s quite an intelligent woman, though a bit overconfident. Years ago, she became enamored with Joshua Hughes and seriously learned Chinese.

:”I’m all ears.” Angela Scott poured two cups of coffee, placing one on the small end table beside Donna’s sofa, the aroma slowly pervading the entire room.

:”I am an old acquaintance of Hughes, to be more explicit, I am his first love.” Donna proudly raised her chin. Until she discovered Joshua Hughes was the ruler of a commercial empire, she realized how foolish she had been, but simultaneously felt deep pride, because she was the first woman he kissed—it’s undeniable that she was his first love.

Men never forget their first love, even if he is temporarily captivated by another woman, eventually, he will return to her.

Angela Scott’s eyes were filled with shock; the news was too sudden, making it hard for her to digest.
