Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

She never knew her life could be so full of ups and downs, but no matter what, he just didn’t like her, didn’t even want to touch her, never actively gave her a second glance.

”I don’t care about this at all. Remember not to come again, that includes all the Yates.” Joshua Hughes threw out this remark and walked back to his office.

”Joshua......” Evelyn Yates held the piece of paper but couldn’t make the man turn back to look at her, her tears fell in large drops onto her cloak.

”Who is the guest in his office?” Evelyn turned around, looked at the secretary, and asked coldly, her eyes filled with hatred and resentment.

Other than Joshua Hughes, no one could show her any disrespect. Avery Jane had already run away herself, so she had to know who the woman inside was, who had become his new favorite, who attracted his attention, making him come running out, disheveled, to dismiss her.......

”I really don’t know. President Hughes brought her up himself.” The secretary muttered in her heart, what was this about, she didn’t dare ask herself, yet this was troubling her. The first rule for a good secretary is not to speak indiscreetly.

”I need you to tell me.” Evelyn looked fiercely at the secretary, wanting to vent the anger she suffered from Joshua on someone else.

If she couldn’t even command a secretary, then why should she become the matriarch of the Hughes Family? The Hughes Clan would also belong to the baby in her belly in the future.

”I really don’t know, I just arrange some meetings, schedules, and appointments for the president, and this guest was personally arranged by the president without going through me, how would I know?” The secretary answered softly, seemingly knowing she indeed had the president’s child, because President Hughes just didn’t deny it, so this was someone she couldn’t afford to offend.

Luckily she saw through things in time, otherwise, how much suffering would there be? Even though seeing President Hughes in a white shirt today made her drool too, he really wasn’t someone she could possess.

”Was the guest female? How old?” She didn’t know the name, but having seen her she must know if it was a man or woman, and roughly how old she was.

”You’re putting me in a difficult position.” The secretary didn’t even dare to lift her head, Evelyn’s eyes seemed like they were about to spit fire, almost ready to eat her alive.

”It won’t be difficult if you speak, not speaking is truly difficult.” Evelyn sat on the sofa, with a posture suggesting she wouldn’t leave until it was made clear.

”If I ask you to nod, is that okay?” Her expression had turned unsightly to the extreme, this secretary, given a chance later, she must find a way to get rid of her.

”Was it a woman?” Nod.......

”Very young?” Nod........

”Very beautiful?” Nod........

”Prettier than me?” At the last question, the secretary quickly shook her head, she didn’t dare nod to this one, although she nodded quite reluctantly.

Just a little girl, what made him so obsessed, probably just a vixen whose flirt was irresistible to men.

Evelyn glanced at the secretary and suddenly smiled warmly: ”I wasn’t intentionally trying to get upset; now that I’m pregnant, it’s natural for a man like Joshua to have young girls who are easily swayed by money throwing themselves at him, sometimes it’s really hard to stop them. How about this, if anything happens in the future, could you call me at this number, okay?”

She reached a slender hand out from her cloak, painted with purple nail polish, and took out a thin silver card from a small purse, it had Evelyn Yates written on it with a string of numbers, presumably her phone number.

”I never meddle in the president’s affairs, I only handle some schedule planning for work-related matters.” The secretary quickly stepped back a bit; getting involved in this could bring trouble for herself, she understood the stakes.

Evelyn reached into her cloak and broke off a brooch from her clothing: ”You work hard all the time, a young lady should have a couple of decent pieces of jewelry, right?”

The brooch wasn’t very large, the yellow diamond shone attractively and brilliantly, things from the Hughes Family surely were invaluable, this probably amounted to years of her salary, right?

Evelyn looked proudly at the change in the secretary’s eyes, no woman could resist the allure of diamonds, right?

When bored, she would often wander around jewelry stores or browse catalogs, marking the ones she liked, Joshua was never stingy with money, letting her spend freely, even when her mother sometimes used her card for large amounts, he never asked. So she didn’t feel bad at all about giving away this yellow diamond brooch.
