Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

Donna sat in Joshua Hughes’ office, cheerfully kicking off her shoes. Old Maitland’s condition had worsened, prompting her fiancé to fly back to the U.S.A. to visit his father, leaving all matters here for her to handle with full authority. Of course, before leaving, he also outlined the limits of their concessions. Now, she could unabashedly do what she wanted, as they would have some time together. Though not very long, it was sufficient for her.

Her honey-colored skin exuded a tropical, sensuous charm; she was a radiant, sun-like woman. Joshua Hughes looked at her indifferently. Indeed, they had shared sweet moments in their youth, but she had been with other men even during their relationship, something he could never forgive. Despite knowing that foreign girls have open sexual attitudes, he still disliked, even hated, betrayal.

”Joshua, why don’t you invite me to play in your castle? At the school dances, didn’t you say I looked like a princess? Shouldn’t a princess live in a castle?” Her nude-colored silk blouse was knotted at the collar, which she had loosened, opening two buttons alluringly. The honey-colored skin on her neck was accentuated by a sparkling diamond necklace.

”You’ve outgrown the age of being a princess.” Joshua Hughes spoke lightly, seemingly uninterested in her opened collar.

In youth or due to overly active hormones, he naturally couldn’t resist being drawn to Donna’s young body, entwining intensely like a male animal in mating season. But now, though she might strip naked and her figure remained well-maintained, he had lost appetite for her.

”Of course not a princess now, you’re no longer a prince. Now, you’re the king of a business empire, so I must become the queen.” Gradually, she walked over gracefully, wearing high heels. Leaning over Joshua Hughes’ desk, her open neckline revealed everything.

”Where is Adam Matt’s limit?” Joshua Hughes stared into Donna’s eyes, questioning word by word.

”Joshua, you should understand me. Whatever I want, I must obtain. You are the one I’ve always wanted most, from then until now. I won’t tell you his limit. We have ample time for negotiation, a chance to truly reacquaint ourselves. Isn’t this a revisit to old dreams?”

Donna’s fingers lightly brushed against Joshua Hughes’ hand, seemingly suggestive.

”Then let’s negotiate.” Joshua Hughes watched as the sky gradually darkened. The girls from the admin department should be clocking out soon. At this time, Avery Jane should be packing up. His day had been somewhat chaotic, his heart harbored slight panic. He didn’t want her alone at home. Overthinking was naturally unpleasant, yet placing her in a new environment could result in unforeseen troubles and unwarranted suspicion, which was undesirable. What should he do with her?

Frustrated, he tussled his hair and loosened his tie, considering picking her up from work. He wanted her to obediently wait for him in the parking lot, hoping she’d see him immediately upon arrival, avoiding any waits.

”Joshua, have dinner with me tonight. Perhaps we could have an after-event program.” Openly inviting him, Donna was always direct, mostly due to her foreign experiences. The reserved and shy nature of U.S.A women was absent in her.

”I’m afraid I can’t comply.” Joshua Hughes picked up the phone from the table and walked out of the meeting room.

His dedicated parking lot, Avery Jane wasn’t down yet. Recently, he had instructed the admin department not to allow overtime, so why hadn’t she appeared?

”Avery, have you come down?” Joshua Hughes couldn’t resist calling Avery Jane.

The voice on the phone was deep and magnetic, as melodious as a cello in the midnight. ”I, I want to go for a walk alone.” Avery Jane wandered aimlessly down the street. Winter evenings darkened unusually fast, and by six o’clock, the sky was already starting to dim, the street appearing draped in a thin black veil, streetlights slowly illuminating, followed by glittering neon on high-rise buildings. Behind her stood the Hughes Clan building, the golden ”H” almost lit up the entire street, dazzling like the sun.
