Medical and Martial God

Thousand Mechanism Hall!

This is the place within the Royal Palace where the King and the high officials of the Ministry of Military Affairs, as well as the think tank, discuss military secrets.

Strangers are not only forbidden to enter, but even approaching is a capital offense!

”Welcome, Your Highness the Little Princess!”

As Ye Xiu followed Kristina into the Thousand Mechanism Hall, everyone inside shouted in unison, but only King Lin Lei did not kneel.

”Rise up!”

Kristina assumed the demeanor of a little princess, forcing a mature appearance, and asked:

”Is it confirmed that Red Water City is under attack?”

No one answered!

An old man with white hair and beard said:

”Little Princess, the Thousand Mechanism Hall is a confidential place for discussing military strategy. Outsiders are not qualified to enter. It would be best if you let them leave, and then we can answer your question and continue discussing military affairs.”

Although his words were directed at Kristina, his eyes were locked on Ye Xiu.

The implication was clear, ’Lei Xiaoming’ is an outsider, unqualified to step into the Thousand Mechanism Hall, much less to hear military secrets.

”Who is this old gentleman?”

Before Kristina could answer, Ye Xiu asked first.

He noticed that when the white-haired old man looked at him, his eyes were filled with unveiled killing intent.

Strange, I haven’t provoked you, why such hostility, you old fart?

”A minor character like you is not qualified to know my name!” the white-haired old man said arrogantly.

Ye Xiu immediately complained to Kristina: ”Little Princess, he said your guard is a minor character.”

Kristina’s eyebrow raised!

The white-haired old man’s beard fluttered in anger as he thought to himself that Lei Xiaoming, this little rascal, was too cunning, trying to frame him for disrespecting the Little Princess.

He quickly said, ”Little Princess, please don’t misunderstand. I didn’t mean that. Lei Xiaoming may be your guard, but he is indeed not qualified to enter the Thousand Mechanism Hall and be part of the military discussions.”

Ye Xiu immediately retorted, ”Are you saying the Little Princess was wrong to choose me to enter the Thousand Mechanism Hall to discuss military affairs?”

Kristina’s elegant brows furrowed!

”You...”

The white-haired old man was so infuriated by Ye Xiu’s retort that he jumped up and said:

”Presumptuous child, your intentions are evil. When did I ever discredit the Little Princess as being short-sighted? I was only saying you are not qualified.”

Ye Xiu shrugged: ”The Little Princess thinks I am qualified, you say I am not. Are you questioning the Little Princess?”

Anger appeared on Kristina’s face!

The white-haired old man was too frightened to be angry now, sweat pouring down, he knelt in front of Kristina and explained:

”Little Princess, please be discerning. Lei Xiaoming is trying to frame me. I definitely meant no disrespect to you.”

Before Kristina could speak, Ye Xiu immediately took over the conversation and said to Kristina:

”Little Princess, I think this gentleman truly means no disrespect to you, you should not hold it against him!”

Pfft!

The white-haired old man turned angrily to glare at Ye Xiu. You little rascal, you provoked me into angering the Little Princess, and now you plead for me, taking all the credit while casting me as the narrow-minded villain?

King Lin Lei and others in the Thousand Mechanism Hall looked at Ye Xiu in surprise.

To be honest, Ye Xiu’s maneuver just now seemed like he was bantering with the white-haired old man, like a street brawl, but it was, in fact, quite ingenious.

Step by step, he led the white-haired old man into opposing Kristina, giving her a very poor first impression of him.

This way, no matter what tricks the white-haired old man uses to trouble Ye Xiu in the future, Kristina would side with Ye Xiu.

Because the image of the white-haired old man as narrow-minded, aggressive, sharp-tongued, and undermining a potential rival had deeply rooted itself in Kristina’s mind.

”Rise!”

Kristina gave the white-haired old man a cold glance, looked around, and said in a loud voice:

”Lei Xiaoming is well-learned, thoroughly reads military books, and is the most knowledgeable person in Royal City. As he is also my guard, he is certainly trustworthy, so letting him participate in military discussions might provide us with some ingenious ideas.”

No one dared to refute Kristina!

However, they remained skeptical about Lei Xiaoming’s erudition. Although the entire city claims Lei Xiaoming is knowledgeable, it has never been verified.

”What the Little Princess said makes sense, now that the nation is at peril, we should utilize anyone who can benefit the country.”

King Lin Lei spoke in a conciliatory tone, saying:

”Lei Xiaoming is talented and comes from the people, his thinking and breadth in problem-solving can aid us.”

Since the King said so, everyone had to reluctantly accept Lei Xiaoming as the new member of the Thousand Mechanism Hall.

”Let’s get back to business!”

Kristina pulled the topic back.

”Let me speak!”

The white-haired old man walked to the sand table, used a stick to point at Red Water City on the map, and said:

”It is now confirmed that Red Water City is indeed under bombardment, the attack is very fierce, but the enemy’s actions are very abnormal.”

At this point, he looked at Ye Xiu and asked:

”Lei Xiaoming, since you are so learned, I want to ask, why is the enemy attacking Red Water City?”

Kristina, Lin Lei, and everyone in the Thousand Mechanism Hall looked at Ye Xiu.

This was a test to see if ’Lei Xiaoming’ was truly knowledgeable and if he could apply his book knowledge flexibly, rather than just reciting from books.

Ye Xiu certainly understood the underlying intent of the white-haired old man and Kristina.

He walked to the sand table and said:

”Firstly: The Fourth Prince clearly led an army of martial artists from the people, splitting into four routes to attack the enemy troops stationed at the four major ports in the east, west, south, and north of King Island. Why, then, has the enemy suddenly appeared outside Red Water City? Where are the Fourth Prince and the army of martial artists?”

These two questions struck everyone present like a bolt from the blue!

Until now, they had been focused on why the enemy was attacking Red Water City, forgetting that the enemy should be currently under attack by the Fourth Prince and the army of martial artists.

”Are you saying something happened to Lin Mu and the martial artists?”

Kristina asked, secretly pleased, thinking she indeed had a keen eye, having chosen a guard truly knowledgeable and wise, who stunned Lin Lei and all the senior officials of the Ministry of Military Affairs and the think tank with just one statement.

”If the Fourth Prince and the army of martial artists had not been compromised, the enemy would not dare to traverse so many city mansions directly to attack Red Water City.”

Ye Xiu nodded, pondered for a moment, and said:

”I judge that the Fourth Prince and the army of martial artists must have been entirely wiped out. Otherwise, even if the enemy defeated the martial artist army, as they advance to attack Red Water City, the Fourth Prince and the martial artist army would intervene, or when the enemy attacks Red Water City, they would strike from the rear, joining forces with Red Water City to form a pincer attack on the enemy.”

”Additionally, if the Fourth Prince and the martial artist army had not been completely wiped out, they should have come to the Royal City to report the situation in advance before the enemy reached and launched an attack on Red Water City.”
