Medical and Martial God

Ye Xiu held back several times, but in the end he still couldn’t resist calling Qin Qing.

”So you’re just giving up already?”

Before Ye Xiu could speak, Qin Qing’s smug voice came through the phone.

Ye Xiu’s face darkened. ”There are no hot weapons on King Island, so if the King wants to counter your hot weapons, he can only send Fourth Realm and above War Gods. You exposed your hot weapons too early, which is basically forcing the King to投入更强的兵力 onto the battlefield. That’s really bad for us, after all the wars on the other islands aren’t over yet.”

Qin Qing: ”We’re gambling here—can you not interfere in my business?”

Ye Xiu felt a headache coming on. ”I’m kindly reminding you here.”

Qin Qing: ”Do I need your reminder?”

Ye Xiu: ”You don’t?”

Qin Qing: ”Lin Mu has just arrived on the battlefield. First battle, and he loses. Do you think he has the face to report that to the King?”

Ye Xiu froze. Damn, that actually made some sense. He asked:

”What if Lin Mu isn’t a reckless type, and he does report his defeat to the King?”

Qin Qing: ”Do you think the King cares about the life and death of civilian Martial Artists?”

Ye Xiu was speechless. He suddenly realized that every detail he worried about, Qin Qing had already considered.

Exactly!

The King doesn’t care at all about the life and death of civilian Martial Artists!

He might even, after learning that the ’invaders’ possess hot weapons, ruthlessly order the civilian Martial Artists to burn away the invaders’ bullets and shells with their lives.

Only when the invaders are left with nothing but Cold Weapons will the King send his Main Lineage troops onto the battlefield.

Qin Qing: ”Right now you’re still not the head of a household. In future don’t you dare boss me around, got that? Everything on the battlefield is under my control. You don’t need to worry!”

With that, she hung up the phone!

Ye Xiu stared blankly at his phone, then said to Jiaojiao beside him:

”Your shimu’s getting cocky!”

Jiaojiao said cutely, ”Let shimu eat more meat, eat until she’s a big fatty, then she won’t be able to float anymore.”

Ye Xiu: ”...”

Heh, divine logic.

...

Lin Mu led his remnants and fled to Nine Dragons City north of Moon City. After gathering all the fleeing, defeated soldiers, it was already dusk!

”What’s our casualty count for this battle?”

Inside a villa they’d seized, Lin Mu asked.

Right now he was indescribably bedraggled, completely lacking the aura of a Fourth Prince. His clothes were in tatters, his face and body filthy, his hair blasted into a chicken’s nest by shells.

If he weren’t a Fifth Realm War God, having trained Copper Skin and Iron Bones, he would’ve been blown to pieces already!

”The enemy’s firepower was extremely fierce. In just half a minute they poured down countless bombs. We took innumerable casualties. I had people do a rough count—if we tally all the unwounded, we’ve only got about two hundred thousand.” The intelligence chief reported.

Lin Mu sucked in a sharp breath. He had personally commanded four hundred and thirty thousand troops, and in the very first battle took such a devastating loss. If this gets back to the Royal City and his brothers who are competing for the throne learn of it, they’ll laugh their heads off.

”What about the results of the other three armies?” Lin Mu asked.

The intelligence chief said, ”The enemy forces occupying the three City Mansions to the east, west, and north buried a large number of timed bombs around the mansions. When our three armies attacked the cities, the bombs were detonated, causing the three armies horrible casualties—worse than what our southern army suffered.”

Lin Mu fell silent!

This battle wasn’t just a defeat, it was a rout!

If his royal father finds out, he might very well strip him of his position as Chief Military Marshal.

And that would become a huge stain on his record in the future struggle for the Main Lineage.

”What do you think the enemy is doing right now?” Lin Mu asked.

The intelligence chief thought for a moment, then said, ”Probably feasting and drinking, celebrating their victory!”

”That’s what I think too!”

Lin Mu began to laugh and said:

”Tell me, if we launch a night raid tonight, could we catch them off guard?”

The intelligence chief’s eyes lit up. ”Your Highness, this stratagem is brilliant!”

Lin Mu immediately gave the order: ”Pass on my command. Everyone who isn’t wounded, ready the troops for battle. At one in the morning, follow me on a night raid against Moon City.”

The messenger accepted the order, and was just about to go out and pass on Lin Mu’s command.

Just then, someone ran in carrying a box and said:

”Your Highness, the enemy has sent someone to deliver you a gift.”

Lin Mu and the intelligence chief both froze.

Lin Mu asked, ”What gift?”

As he spoke, he took the box, set it on the table, and carefully opened it. Inside was a piece of yellow cloth, and lying atop the cloth was a sheet of paper.

On the paper was written: ”I’m guessing you’re planning a night raid on Moon City tonight, right? I’ve already sharpened my blade and am quietly awaiting your esteemed presence!”

”Bastard!”

Lin Mu exploded in rage. He had just come up with the plan for a night raid, and the enemy immediately sent this face-slapping letter. This was blatant humiliation.

”Your Highness, looks like there’s something under the yellow cloth.”

The intelligence chief reminded him.

”Hm?”

Lin Mu peered into the box. There really did seem to be something under the cloth.

He immediately removed the letter and the yellow cloth, revealing what lay beneath.

”A remote bomb?”

Seeing what was under the cloth clearly, Lin Mu let out a yell and reflexively turned to run.

Boom!

The timed bomb exploded!

It didn’t actually kill Lin Mu and the intelligence chief—their Copper Skin and Iron Bones weren’t for show—but it did leave the two of them even more wretched-looking!

”Intolerable, intolerable...!”

Lin Mu stamped his feet and roared in fury. After venting for quite a while he finally calmed down and said to the intelligence chief:

”Get all War Gods above the Fourth Realm from the other three armies secretly transferred to Nine Dragons City. I want to concentrate all our elite and wipe out Moon City first.”

”As you command!”

The intelligence chief immediately used the Telegraph to send messages to the commanders of the eastern, western, and northern armies, conveying Lin Mu’s orders.

...

Moon City, inside a luxury mansion!

After finishing dinner, Qin Qing was sitting on the sofa, staring blankly at the map of King Island.

At that moment, Chloe received a text message. After reading it, she said:

”Ghost Shadow reports that Lin Mu has ordered all War Gods above the Fourth Realm from the three armies to the east, west, and north to secretly head to Nine Dragons City. He plans to mass all his elite forces and wipe out Moon City first.”

After listening, Qin Qing pondered for a moment, then said:

”Lin Mu’s plan is actually pretty decent. If we didn’t have Ghost Shadow providing intel, we really would take a heavy loss.”

”So how do we respond?” Chloe asked.

Qin Qing thought for a bit. ”If all the Fourth Realm and above War Gods from the enemy’s three armies head to Nine Dragons City, then what’s left will be First, Second, and Third Realm War Gods, plus Martial Artists below War God level. It’ll be the perfect opportunity to annihilate them.”

Speaking up to this point, she gave the order:

”Notify the people in the three cities east, west, and north that at two in the morning, they are to launch surprise attacks on the enemy’s three armies.”

Chloe immediately pulled out her phone and sent a group text, then asked:

”Then how do we deal with Nine Dragons City and all the Fourth Realm and above War Gods about to arrive there? With just you, me, and Sword Cottage, we can’t possibly beat that many people.”

That really was a massive headache!

We definitely couldn’t win!

So we run!

”Send word down: everyone is to leave Moon City overnight. We’re heading to Peng City occupied by the eastern army, and we’ll leave this empty Moon City for Lin Mu to play with.” Qin Qing said with a smile.

Her mission is to stall for Time, not annihilate the enemy!

She’ll just keep playing Lin Mu then!
