Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Not at all bothered with the increasingly lively spectators, Xuan Hao found himself going from one illusion to the next as he slowly began moving up the spiral staircase. Going from the first step all the way up to the 5837 step that officially severed as the halfway point and the place where the illusions became increasingly difficult according to the information within the jade stone at the bottom of the staircase. The one bit of information that he felt made sense and wasn’t exactly something that lying about wouldn’t change anything.

Understandably, the ones from the different major powers had grown increasingly uneasy seeing his smooth progress, as they had already realized that he wasn’t someone relying on their flawed information, but someone with real ability to challenge the immortal ascension staircase. Not that they had much of an ability to do anything about it, as it was impossible to interfere with someone on the immortal ascension staircase unless one stepped onto the staircase themselves and reached the same point on the staircase, something that none of those people were confident in accomplishing nor willing to risk given how they would then have to successfully ascend to stand a chance at surviving.

Thorough as their information on the illusions might be, it was true that they became unpredictable towards the later part and changed beyond recognition. Making it impossible to ascend through the assistance of information alone unless one got exceptionally lucky, something that had only happened once in the past to a senior of the Ying Family, the newest of the major powers in the small world.

In the end, under the shocked gazes of the crowd, Xuan Hao smoothly continued past the halfway point like nothing had changed. Passing the six thousandth step a few minutes later before moving past the seventh thousandth step and then officially crossing the eight thousandth step before surpassing the older lady who had just perished without showing any sign of slowing down as he pushed towards the nine thousandth step.

By this point, not only had he drawn the attention of a few members of the different major powers, but he had also drawn the attention of the senior members of these major powers alongside several Star Creation Realm cultivators living in seclusion within the city.

After all, compared to the older woman from earlier who these senior figures could tell was relying on the information provided by free by the different major powers and had little real success of actually making it through the final bit, Xuan Hao, who was relying on his own strength to push forward had a real chance of making it in the eyes of these seniors, thus drawing them over to join the fun and watch how far he could make it.

Not just because it was fun to observe him ascending the immortal ascension staircase, but also because once he reached the final 674 steps that remained the core challenge in the eyes of these seniors, they would also be able to catch a glimpse of the illusions playing out. Increasing their own knowledge of the illusions they might run into once they took on the challenge of ascending the immortal ascension staircase in the future.

Outside of some from the major powers who didn’t want to see the emergence of another major power that would suck up their cultivation resources, there were far more who wanted Xuan Hao to go as far as possible, as this would also grant them the most knowledge and better prepare them for the future.

Not to mention, should he really succeed, they might even get a chance to glimpse the immortal world that existed above, something that might give them some precious insights and further deepen their own cultivation and strength. An opportunity that was well recorded when others had managed to successfully ascend to the immortal realm in the past.

Looks like the illusions are finally starting to get difficult to pass through…

And as more people began gathering from across the small world to watch him, Xuan Hao finally found himself running into an illusion that he couldn’t immediately sweep through upon stepping onto the 11.001 step of the immortal ascension staircase. Sensing through his divine sense that the illusion he had been forced into this time around had only a dozen or so flaws.

Although a dozen flaws sounded like a lot, it was in fact not that many, as even knowing the fact that they existed wasn’t enough and he still needed to reach one of them within the illusion world he had been trapped inside of to break the illusion, something that was simpler said than done given how most illusions trapped him within a weak mortal body without any cultivation.

The only way forward was to rely on his powerful soul to forcibly elevate his strength by burning the potential and lifespan of the mortal body to regain his cultivation within the illusion for a few seconds. Giving him the time needed to reach the flaw in the illusion and forcibly break it before he perished inside the illusion.

Normally, he would also have needed to awaken from the illusion, but… His powerful soul alongside his own comprehension of the Dao of illusion made it difficult to truly trap him within such an illusion for more than a few seconds.

Because of this, though his speed of ascending slowed down significantly after reaching the 11.001 step, he continued moving upwards with no sign of stopping, something that caused everyone present to hold their breath collectively. Understanding they might be about to witness someone ascending to the immortal realm.

Of course, the reason why those seniors at the Profound Immortal Realm were amazed more so had to do with the fact that they could peek into the different illusions and witnessed firsthand how effortlessly these deadly illusions that kept them from challenging the immortal ascension realm tower, were torn apart forcibly by Xuan Hao who didn’t even bother playing along with the challenges within the illusions he ended up trapped inside of that one would normally have to complete to pass through the illusion.

Becoming a small peasant farmer faced with the challenge of rising against a local landlord? Just forcibly recover cultivation within a few seconds by burning through vitality and potential of the body before finding a hidden flaw and directly breaking the illusion.

Becoming a new young consort inside a deadly harem tasked with winning the emperor’s favor, a courtesan trying to free herself, a young material genius crippled and faced with a life and death sect tournament or even an old eunuch tasked with ensuring the survival of the imperial bloodline following the fall of the capital and death of the emperor, Xuan Hao was faced with all kinds of unique challenges, but… Much to the dismay of the observers who wanted to find ways to complete these challenges themselves when they maybe faced them in the future, he didn’t bother with any of them and directly forced his way through every single one of them by targeting the flaws within the illusions. Flaws that none of these powerful observing cultivators could sense nor see, as to them, it just looked like he attacked empty air in some kind of strange manner before the illusion broke.
