Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Being dragged into an illusion in such a forceful manner, Xuan Hao could not help panicking a bit as he felt completely helpless in the face of that overwhelming power, but only a second later as the terrifying power faded did he come to realize that the illusion he found himself trapped in was rather laughable. Even without the assistance of the guide provided by the different major powers from the small world, he was more than capable of passing through the illusion.

The issue wasn’t so much that the illusion itself was bad. Instead, it was the fact that he had already reached the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Illusions and the illusion before him was simply filled with countless flaws that were easy to see through even without his comprehension in the Dao of Illusions. Together with his comprehension, the flaws became glaring to the point where a single casual wave of the hand was enough to break the illusion-

Whoosh~

Craaack~!

And that was just what he did, as the illusion that had just formed before him shattered into countless glimmering shards that soon reformed the spiral staircase and the third step that he didn’t hesitate for a second to step onto. No longer feeling any hint of unease when it came to ascending the immortal ascension staircase. Confident that he would be able to handle the illusions that were thrown at him and potentially even make use of the unique experience to deepen his comprehension of the Dao of Illusions in the process and bring it a step closer to the Perfection Realm.

After all, deadly as the immortal ascension staircase might be to the locals of the small world, it was essentially a perfect tool for comprehending and training the Dao of Illusions, a place that would undoubtedly become popular with those proficient in the Dao of Illusions within the sect in the future and also a place to train oneself to fight against those proficient in the Dao of illusions.

”Look! He is already past the first two hundred steps and shows no sign of slowing down! Haha, he might really make it past that old lady and win me a lot of spirt stones!”

”What do you know? This is only the beginning; he still has a long way to go before getting anywhere that older lady.”

”Oh? Aren’t you just turning sour because you just bet a few hundred spirit stones on him failing?”

”Hmph!”

”Hehe, told you not to get too eager for easy success, who knows, this senior might be someone skilled that has been silently preparing for this day for the past million years. Nobody challenging the immortal ascension staircase does so without at least a certain level of confidence. Especially so directly after someone managed to make it that far up.”

Unaware that the deadly immortal ascension staircase had already been turned into a perfect tool for practicing and comprehending the Dao of Illusions in Xuan Hao’s eyes, a few of the spectators who had thrown down a few spirit stones to bet on how well he would do chatted eagerly amongst each other. His strong performance of sweeping past the first few hundred steps, having clearly taken most of those who bet on his failure by surprise.

But as there was discussion amongst the spectators who had already thrown in spirit stones to bet on the outcome, there was also discussions playing out between the different members from the major powers still present at the scene…

”This… Another outlier… Is this one also relying on the information within the jade or advancing through his own efforts?”

”His own efforts, he didn’t struggle at all in the start and shouldn’t have made use of the information within the jade without trying on his own. Not to mention, this one isn’t anywhere comparable to the lucky lady from earlier. From what I can tell, he should have already formed an internal world and stepped into the Late Stage of the Land Creation Realm.”

”Late Stage of the Land Creation Realm… A real challenger… It shouldn’t be a problem for him to reach the three thousand step mark without the assistance of the information. After that, it should become far harder for him to advance.”

”Let us hope so, if another Ying Family emerges again, the already limited cultivation resources will become even harder to come by. Especially those earthly and heavenly treasures, we might even be forced to sell less of them in the future and increase the prices.”

”Let’s hope that won’t happen, after all, if we limit those heavenly and earthly treasures too much, we might cause a war with those independent Land Creation Realm and Star Creation Realm Seniors.”

Though, it was clear the discussion of these people had taken a different approach compared to the other spectators who were mostly in it for the fun and a sense of excitement after realizing that they might really get the chance to see someone ascend to the immortal realm.

The analyze of the two also revealing that the current position of the different major powers wasn’t exactly stable within the small world, something that was understandable considering how there existed far more independent cultivators at the Land Creation Realm and the Star Creation Realm not part of any of these powers that bought the heavenly and earthly treasures through them.

The only reason the major powers were able to keep their position at the top being because of their backing from the immortal realm, but even that wouldn’t save them from the anger of those independent cultivators if they began limiting the quantity of earthly and heavenly treasures, they sold.

After all, cutting those precious cultivation resources off or making them too expensive would essentially be cutting off the future cultivation path for independent cultivators, while at the same time slowing down the cultivation of the more senior cultivators preparing to challenge the immortal ascension staircase in the future when their time was about to run out and they no longer felt confident in taking on the next longevity tribulation.

After all, outside of increasing their strength and cultivation, heavenly and earthly treasures also served the very important job of being a crucial help in surviving through the longevity tribulation. Relying on the powerful life force within the treasure to make it through.
