Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2759: Chapter 2754: 13th Day Talk (11)

Is it really like this, the ultimate stage of face blindness, recognizing clothes but not people?

What kind of abstract scene would the world in this person’s eyes be?

Clothes were torn, so she almost didn’t recognize me just now, the hair clip girl’s reason sounded a bit like she was grasping at straws.

But Fu Qian, who had already guessed a step ahead, expressed his understanding at that moment.

It’s not strange at all to see this face, because she can’t remember faces at all, recognizing people only by their attire?

Even the gaze that swept around in a vacant manner seemed to have an explanation for a moment.

Although her eyes are so astonishingly bright, her recognition ability is surprisingly poor, it’s really quite a contrast, the legendary clear yet foolish eyes?

”I’ve had this problem since long ago, by the time I came here, I couldn’t even recognize my parents when they exchanged clothes...”

It’s true that people are particularly sensitive to their own flaws, not waiting for Fu Qian to ask, the hair clip girl pointed at her eyes, smiling as she explained.

”But it’s not all bad, though the world feels like it’s missing a part because of it, it also adds a unique experience that others don’t have.

”It even seems to have awakened some kind of talent, my memory for people’s clothing has become extraordinarily good, as long as I’ve seen it, I won’t forget it... On the third day after I arrived here, I saw you wearing this outfit.”

There is a certain amount of finding joy in adversity, the hair clip girl sighed lightly, as if recalling a certain scene.

”Back then Lady Trish was also present.”

...

Their outfits were indeed a bit extravagant, looking as if they were going to a ball despite being in a sanatorium.

Fu Qian did not question the hair clip girl’s claim of photographic memory, and at that moment, he merely thought to himself, if it were Trish and the other person’s attire, many people would probably remember it.

Nevertheless, casually mentioning another name at least greatly increased the credibility of what the hair clip girl was saying.

She really recognized the original owner of this outfit.

Although theoretically, this isn’t good news.

She took someone else’s clothes but didn’t disguise her face, just happened to meet someone with absolute face blindness, so wasn’t recognized...

At first glance, it seems like extremely good luck, a perfect mutual encounter.

But don’t forget one very important point, earlier, I just encountered a kind of backstage mastermind, a ’director’ type.

In this situation, having such a coincidence truly stretches the imagination.

Is this also part of your design? Not only are the staff your chosen players, but even the patients are in the cast?

Fu Qian clicked his tongue in amazement, increasingly satisfied with his previous choices.

Yes, theoretically it may be bad news, but it ultimately depends on what your goal is.

And as I once said, what needs to be done now is not to find a place to hide from being discovered, but to interact with this place as much as possible within controlled limits.

Thus clarifying the situation and seeking opportunities.

Otherwise, merely hiding is undoubtedly a slow death.

The current situation seems passive, but that is the real passivity.

”Actually, this isn’t torn, strictly speaking, I ripped it myself.

”Besides, it indeed sounds like an interesting talent, Trish would probably be very pleased if she knew, because of your appreciation of her taste.”

Fu Qian felt the slightly torn collar, choosing to first respond to the other’s confusion, even maintaining honesty.

”Thank you for the compliment... Lady Trish does indeed have great taste, she had a pair of shoes that suited her perfectly, which she wore the last time I saw her.”

Although it’s just a small acknowledgment, it seemed to make the hair clip girl very happy, immediately recalling more details.

Furthermore, these details seemed to imply another detail hidden within—she hadn’t actually seen Trish just now.

”Let me think, when was it... What’s today’s date?”

The hair clip girl, immersed in her memory, seemed to have encountered a problem, frowning slightly as she asked Fu Qian.

”They say it’s the 48th.”

Fu Qian indicated he was familiar with this question, immediately providing the answer he previously discussed with Trish.

”Then it must have been on the 42nd...”

As it turns out, the hair clip girl didn’t notice the peculiarity of this date, instead truly deducing a result from it.

...

Good, so the credibility of Lady Trish’s story has also increased.

The hair clip girl’s reaction subtly proved that there indeed was an unusual technique for recording dates here, but the greater significance lies elsewhere.

The core purpose of Fu Qian’s eagerness to assist in recollecting earlier was to have the hair clip girl verify the authenticity of Lady Trish’s earlier words.

After all, with this person, it’s still just a chance encounter, whereas Lady Trish is very likely staying next door later.

”Ah, it’s almost 6 o’clock, sorry I must take another path!”

As Fu Qian took stock of his gains, the hair clip girl suddenly realized something, uttered a low exclamation, and hastily bid farewell.

Oh? It seems to be getting dark rather quickly.

Fu Qian looked in the direction she indicated, finding himself at a crossroads.

The previously mentioned VIP area requires bypassing a rock platform to continue upwards, and it seems clear the hair clip girl doesn’t live there.

Besides, she wasn’t making an excuse, earlier when coming out of the confinement room, it was only a bit dark outside.

But now, after only a few exchanges, visibility had already drastically decreased, seemingly arriving at night.

Given the hair clip girl’s condition, lingering outside at this hour was indeed somewhat unsafe.

But the darkening sky wasn’t entirely without its advantages, especially for someone in my situation, a counterfeit.

Originally, the crowd density should have gradually increased on the way.

But at this moment, with the cover of night and two people walking together, it effectively masked the issue of the face.

Is this the legendary best arrangement?

”Thank you for sharing, it was very pleasant talking with you.”

With a sigh in his heart, Fu Qian nodded understandingly and took the initiative to say goodbye.

”You’re welcome, talking with this outfit was even more enjoyable than I imagined.”

The other’s response was also interesting, not just because Fu Qian valued sharing, truly accepting the thanks, even specifically using ”this outfit” to refer to the conversation partner.

Without waiting for Fu Qian to respond again, the hair clip girl had already waved goodbye with a smile and walked alone down another path.

...

As expected of a sanatorium, these days, you rarely see such a resting-at-sunset scene.

He merely watched her leave for a second as a gesture of friendship, not delaying his own steps at all. Soon, Fu Qian crossed the platform and continued upwards.

And one must admit, the scene before him was quite merry and harmonious overall.

Especially towards the direction the hair clip girl went, it was obviously much livelier.

Not long after walking, someone was already calling her, seemingly worried.

In contrast, this side of the VIP area felt a bit deserted, with not much light visible—even at the place where Lady Trish lived.
