Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2752: Chapter 2747: Thirteen-Day Tale (4)

Shut up for freedom, or just completely shut you up.

Considering that no kind of promise is reliable, the insiders staying here is undoubtedly a huge risk.

Under such circumstances, the two solutions proposed by Trish are measures more credible than verbal promises.

It seems obvious which one the person involved should choose.

However, while appreciating this development, Fu Qian indicated that the former is actually unreliable.

If the restraints are untied, anyone would think of escaping from this hellish place directly, and then the secret naturally wouldn’t spread.

It sounds good, but what if the person doesn’t escape?

Once intercepted, being tied up here with no way to run would inevitably become the focus of attention.

And regardless of who thinks about it, they would assume that someone must have helped, and would even require a reasonable explanation for the help.

At this time, the story of a certain pair of lovers suddenly becomes much more credible.

A little pondering can reveal that this is not mere alarmism.

In comparison, making someone permanently shut up is clearly more reliable.

Although comparatively, the nature is indeed worse.

Letting people go and killing people are completely different matters.

Even Trish herself is obviously hoping to achieve the first option of the deal rather than get her hands bloody, damaging her reputation.

This mindset is entirely understandable, but it doesn’t matter, Fu Qian indicates that such missteps are inherently progressed in steps.

”Think again, no rush.”

With a heavier rush of warm air beside his ear, he patiently reassured, signaling to think a bit more and not rush to conclusions.

...

For Fu Qian, possessing compromising material on two respectable individuals is practically a resource delivered to his doorstep, there’s simply no reason to easily give it up.

Being able to empathize with Trish and her partner’s mindset is one thing, but it’s hard to say whether the two can actually realize their real situation.

”You seem completely unaware of your situation...”

It indeed proves challenging, faced with such provocative words, at that moment Trish’s male companion seemed to finally be unable to bear it.

”Do you really think we wouldn’t dare take action? Someone dying in this place is nothing unusual.”

It must be said that it’s quite logical, although a sanatorium may not match a hospital, matters of life and death indeed seem more commonplace.

”Makes sense, I apparently don’t have much impression of how it became like this, can you share?”

Not mindful of the growing tension, Fu Qian actually went along with the other’s words.

...

”Unfortunately, I’m not clear on the specifics.”

Both parties’ understanding of the situation is obviously not aligned, but amidst the eerie atmosphere, Trish finally spoke up.

”I only know that you suddenly had an episode the second day you were here and attacked more than one person. Afterward, Servis announced your condition was worrying and that compulsory measures must be taken. Eventually, after being moved to several locations, you were placed here.”

It sounded rather modest, clearly suggesting considerable knowledge of the situation.

Quite normal actually, in a place so detached from the mundane world, an exceptional collective atmosphere often breeds, the efficiency of information dissemination cannot be low.

Truly indulged quite quickly then, issues arising by the second day?

Fu Qian inwardly marveled, increasingly shocked by the allure of this place.

The specific process is fairly reasonable though, sick, treatment, declared incurable... and Servis indeed resembles the spokesperson here.

”So what did I do on my first day?”

With Trish’s high cooperation, he proceeded to inquire unreservedly.

Besides Servis, the ”old acquaintance” is undoubtedly a role more anticipated.

”Touring, what else? Wandering around alone, exchanging greetings with many people.”

Regarding this question, Trish sounded rather peculiar.

”Weren’t you claiming to be a cultural columnist, preparing to write a special report on the sanatorium?”

...

Such a thing? No wonder it’s not that simple.

Trish’s answer undoubtedly stirred things up again, Fu Qian sighed inwardly at that moment.

It sounds like he actually sought a reason to enter, rather than arriving as a guest?

Columnist, wandering alone, there’s no ”old acquaintance” element to this.

The task introduction regarding that person doesn’t exist—though it makes sense.

”Following the footsteps of an old acquaintance” can indeed be understood as someone once left traces here, and he’s merely seeking such traces.

Even goes in line with his subsequent behaviors, claiming to be a columnist, using a role that easily penetrates the crowd, maneuver around searching for traces...

Even later on, this hidden intention was inevitably discovered by the ”evil” Servis, ultimately falling victim, resulting in being trapped here in such a manner...

Almost akin to a classic movie plot.

Ultimately awakening, he now needs to escape this superficial sanatorium, actually an evil Demon Mountain.

Because thirteen days later, this place will face judgment for the lurking sins.

See, even aligns with the mission objectives.

It must be said, the feeling of suddenly becoming a movie protagonist isn’t bad.

”Actually, that was nonsense, my real identity is a secret investigator.”

And it’s well-known that the biggest trait of a protagonist is that no matter how reckless, they don’t die, Fu Qian tested it immediately.

”...Investigate what?”

As much as they don’t wish to believe it, with a madman suddenly regaining sanity, faced with such a fact, Trish and her companion almost spoke in unison.

”Investigating the relationship between the two of you.”

Fu Qian answered exceedingly naturally.

...

”Are you mocking me?”

After another long silence, Trish’s male companion finally seemed unable to contain his anger, the voice gradually approaching.

Quite normal, being treated as a clown in front of a woman he admires has always been intolerable, especially for someone of considerable identity and status.

Obviously, he doesn’t believe Fu Qian’s nonsense, being tied here for over forty days just to wait for now? Guarding and waiting isn’t done like this.

”Yes, but I’m not the only one mocking you.”

In this scenario, Fu Qian even added fuel to the fire, recalling the direction of Trish’s voice.

”Pardon my frankness, even though I couldn’t see earlier, I could discern the heavy performance component when you both were intimate; are you sure you don’t need a supplement—”

Adding gasoline, even.

So much so that the moment recommending the old military doctor was not reached before being interrupted by strange sounds, followed by muffled grunts.

Slap—

After reaching out for a while, he finally succeeded in removing the thing on his head, looking at the head struggling under his other arm, Fu Qian spoke with heartfelt sincerity.

”You see, I told you? You really need a supplement.”
