Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2165: Chapter 2160: Confinement (34)

The two might both be classmates.

There was speculation about the other party’s identity when they appeared, and now it has been confirmed.

In Fu Qian’s view, if the boy is fourteen, the girl wouldn’t be much older.

Moreover, it’s normal for partners to get separated and search around, but isn’t this place a bit too eerie for looking for someone?

”Looking for someone? Coming to a place like this?”

You see, Tia clearly feels the same way, incredulously asking.

From the moment they met until now, the impact from these young people has been wave after wave.

”Why don’t you ask him why he came to this place?”

Unfortunately, the girl’s tone remains unfriendly, nodding towards Fu Qian, pushing back bluntly.

”He came here to find a corpse, I think it’s appropriate.”

Tia, looking, seems not to stoop to the level of a kid, just furrowed her brows slightly, even really explaining it.

”Because a corpse is missing, right?”

Unfortunately, what she got back was another cold laugh, with a tone seemingly filled with disdain for the hospital’s management.

”So you really have been to the underground prison.”

Seeing Tia somewhat unable to cope, Fu Qian finally joins the conversation, expressing interest in the girl’s statement.

When chatting with Tia earlier, they mentioned the corpse but didn’t elaborate in detail.

The one hiding in the cabinet all along couldn’t have got this information just by eavesdropping.

”Of course I’ve been there, and Dennis too.”

The girl candidly admitted, and when she mentioned the latter name, her face turned even colder.

”But it’s too big down there, I suddenly couldn’t find him... instead, after turning around, I discovered something else.”

...

No need to say, the special thing must refer to the body bag.

And never underestimate the imagination of young people, seeing such a thing, the girl successfully linked it to the hospital.

”Going to such a dark place, couldn’t you walk hand in hand properly?”

Trusting young people, Fu Qian was nonetheless curious why the two got separated.

”... There was some dispute, Dennis doesn’t like that place, and he always thinks I’m cold.”

Though slightly off-topic, seemingly suppressed by Fu Qian’s demeanor, the girl didn’t give Fu Qian a ”get lost” like she did to Brother Tantou.

Instead, she looked elsewhere, casually recalling.

”I let him go if he didn’t like it, asked for some peace alone, but he still followed me, even took off his clothes for me... then I left.”

So that’s the origin of the clothes on the ground? Quite similar to some imagined scenes.

Fu Qian slightly nodded, naturally thinking of that new jacket found twice.

Regardless of which world, that place isn’t warm, there should be some reason for such a piece of clothing left on the ground.

In fact, seeing the scantily clad person, one can almost imagine Dennis taking off his clothes.

”And then you went back again?”

In reflection, Fu Qian straightforwardly continued asking.

Perhaps harsh, but he knows well that dealing with rebellious youth, kindness might not matter much; confronting could be more effective.

”Yes... after all, going to that place was my idea.

The one who discovered the hole behind the painting was me, even if I wanted to go alone, I had to bring him out first.”

Indeed, she might not be delighted, but the girl not only didn’t fall silent, but also candidly admitted her sense of responsibility.

”Reasonable, but you didn’t find him, only found a corpse?”

Fu Qian appreciated this sense of principle.

Handling one’s own issues is often neglected by many adults.

”A frozen corpse.”

The girl even emphasized, indicating a direction with her gaze — where Tia suggested earlier not to intrude, the place where bodies are stored.

”Dennis isn’t here, I looked in many places, he wasn’t there... then I thought he might have had some accident, so I came to find him.”

The description was concise and efficient; the girl quickly accounted for the reasons she appeared here.

”Why, when something happens, do you come here to look?”

Though this cause and effect seemed a bit hard for Tia to grasp.

”Don’t you understand? She believes there are some sinister, secret activities happening at your hospital.”

Instead of being surprised, the girl merely glanced at Tia, with no intention to elaborate; in the end, Fu Qian helped deduce the process.

...

”Is there any relation? The missing corpse at the hospital should be a victim too, right?”

Unfortunately, as they say, ”Ignorance is ignorance”; for Tia, already past the rebellious stage, the deduction seems too jumpy, prompting wide-eyed disbelief.

Ha...

Though from the girl’s reaction, Fu Qian’s answer was spot-on.

”Not necessarily, is there a possibility the hospital, along with those controlling the underground passage, captures lost strangers for some sinister research? And the reason her companion Dennis is missing is that he was accidentally spotted and couldn’t escape.”

Seeing Tia still couldn’t grasp, Fu Qian shook his head, sighed lightly, directly feeding the idea.

”... That’s too much of a conspiracy theory, isn’t it? There are many possibilities, why does it have to be such an extraordinary scenario?”

Now Tia seems to understand but is still far from accepting, almost instinctively refuting.

”Can you deny such an extraordinary scenario?”

This time, not needing Fu Qian to explain further, even the rebellious girl’s patience ran out, a direct rebuttal followed.

Inevitably, it can’t be denied.

Considering Tia, the reason why the responsible person is absent still remains an unsolved issue.

”So, did you find Dennis here?”

In her silence, Fu Qian shifted focus, reaching the crux of the matter.

...

Clearly, he wasn’t found.

Fu Qian casually stated, leading the girl to a silent state, momentum suddenly plummeting.

The stark difference in reaction almost indicates the result.

”No, I arrived early, but there was nobody here... later, you came, then I temporarily hid.”

Shaking her head, the girl eventually candidly admitted the unfavorable situation and proved the responsible person’s absenteeism.

”It shouldn’t be...”

Tia listened, eyebrows furrowing more.

Though disbelieving the sinister activities theory, such anomalies always feel somewhat amiss.

”There isn’t any Dennis inside, I’ve checked.”

As thoughts flew around, the girl coldly added.
