Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 1084, The Snake Dragon Boss

The five of them, Ye Wuxian and her companions, formed a team with no discernible weak points whatsoever. The frontline was shielding the backline, the backline supported the frontline, while also delivering devastating Damage Output.

Should the enemy attempt to reach the backline, they could not bypass the Asura King’s Defence.

Should they attempt to assault the frontline and take down the Asura King, setting aside the Asura King’s extraordinary Defence and recovery capability, Han Ke’s Support alone was already enough to give the Tie Family members a splitting headache.

And on top of that, Ye Wuxian was intermittently releasing her Skills, raining down flames. This was the sort of Attack the Tie Family simply could not withstand.

For a time, the assembled forces were completely helpless against Ye Wuxian’s group, regardless of how many Arrays they activated to protect the base.

As for the summoned Monsters, they were even more woefully inadequate.

These Monsters were all High Level Bosses, their power reaching the Fifth Profession Change and above.

Among them was one in particular, a Monster resembling a Snake Dragon, which was a Sixth Profession Change existence. Even the most formidable experts of a Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Family would find such a Boss difficult to deal with.

And yet, as powerful as this Boss was, it was still no match for the Asura King.

The Asura King shifted to a sword-and-shield configuration, engaging this Boss directly, handling the confrontation with total composure.

Its use of the shield was controlled by Tao Xiaoman, who had previously, as a Water Sword God, channelled water into a shield for defence. Her mastery of shield techniques, while not exceptional, was unquestionably refined to a level of great proficiency. It was serving as a reliable bulwark during battle.

The use of the sword, naturally, was directed by Jian Ying herself.

When Jian Ying’s talent at wielding a sword was exceptional. Compared to veterans of Players that could only use swords, who had trained for many years, she might still fall somewhat short. However, among her peers, she was unquestionably an outstanding expert.

Jian Ying even condensed six additional swords from the Asura King’s body, sending them into the air as autonomous sword-wielding projectiles to cut down their enemies.

These flying swords bore a striking resemblance to her own personal swords. No doubt because she was simply more accustomed to manipulating these particular types of swords.

It had to be said: Jian Ying’s Ancient God Power truly suited her to an extraordinary degree. Even when controlling the Asura King, she could adapt it as much as possible to fight in the style which she was accustomed to.

The Sixth Profession Change Boss lunged to kill repeatedly, only to be blocked every time by the Asura King’s shield. Meanwhile, the flying swords dancing through the sky above came slashing down in rapid succession, layering various attacks upon this Boss and steadily wearing it down.

Ye Wuxian, seated on the Asura King’s shoulder, even discovered a Combination Skill that worked in perfect concert with Jian Ying and the others.

She infused her flames into the Asura King’s weapons, so that each time the Asura King dealt Damage to an enemy, it would apply Burn, simultaneously increasing the Asura King’s Damage Output while also inflicting persistent and continuous Burn Damage with every attack.

In this way, the Snake Dragon Boss found itself completely powerless against the Asura King’s impenetrable Defence, while the Asura King’s every strike made it roar in torment.

After casually cutting down several Fifth Profession Change Monsters along the way, the Asura King finally, under Jian Ying’s control, in concert with the flying swords dancing across the sky, struck as one. They pinned down the Snake Dragon Boss entirely into the ground and ended it.

The moment this Boss died, cries of despair echoed throughout the Tie Family base.

Every Tie Family member understood that this Snake Dragon Boss had been one of their final lines of defence.

Now that even the Snake Dragon Boss had fallen in battle, the sheer terrifying scale of the enemy they now faced was plain for all to see.

Moreover, at the scene there were no fewer than several hundred armoured Players, who had also thrown themselves into combat while the Asura King was dealing with the Snake Dragon Boss.

Yet no matter what they did, how exhaustively they employed every Skill at their disposal, they could not inflict so much as a scratch upon the Asura King.

Under the Asura King’s protection, Han Ke and Ye Wuxian remained in absolute safety. No one could lay a hand on them.

The Tie Family base had now lost one powerful Boss. Meanwhile, Ye Wuxian’s side remained completely unscathed.

And beneath the unceasing Buff of the Moon in the sky, the Asura King seemed to grow fiercer with every exchange, showing not the slightest sign of declining condition or failing stamina.

At this moment, the Tie Family members felt as though the Asura King was itself an unconquerable Boss.

Ordinary Tie Family members who charged at it found only instant death awaiting them.

The Snake Dragon, the only High Level Boss capable of assuming the role of Main Tank and holding back the enemy for a while, had, with the combined effort of every Tie Family member, been unable to strip away even a fraction of the Asura King’s condition.

A Boss like this was simply impossible to overcome.

Encountering such a presence in the Wilderness or in a Dungeon Instance, the wisest course of action would naturally be to flee.

But this was the Tie Family base, where could they flee to?

The base entrance had already been burned through, but the flames there still held their ground.

Escaping through that entrance would mean being scorched by the fire. The Tie Family members had by now discovered that once these flames took hold, there was no way to extinguish them. Anyone unfortunate enough to be touched by them would carry them forever.

So, nobody was willing to flee through an entrance engulfed in those roaring flames.

As for other routes…

There were some.

The Dungeon Instance transport hall could in theory be used to escape through its Transport Arrays.

The problem was: after the golden giant had entered the base, whether by design or by accident, the very first thing it had destroyed was the Dungeon Instance transport hall.

Every exit from this place was now essentially sealed shut, only the entrance behind the golden giant remained.

In other words, everyone was trapped here. Short of defeating Ye Wuxian and her companions, there was no path of escape whatsoever.

The Tie Family members, gripped by despair, erupted with astonishing Combat Power, hurling themselves at the golden giant in wave after wave.

But against such an absolute disparity in strength, charging forward was nothing more than courting death.

After several dozen Tie Family members had fallen in battle, fear finally crept into everyone’s hearts.

No longer were they throwing themselves forward with the same reckless abandon as before. Instead, they began to contemplate how on earth they might survive.

All of this unfolded before the eyes of Tie Fusheng and the Tie Family Ancestor.

Tie Fusheng’s expression was one of terror, his disbelief at the magnitude of the catastrophe the Tie Family had brought down upon itself written plainly across his face.

“Ancestor… this…” He turned his head, intending to ask for the Tie Family Ancestor’s opinion only to find that the Tie Family Ancestor himself now wore an expression of grave solemnity.

“That is the girl from the Ye Family? How did she get this strong? And that golden giant, and that woman behind it, just who are they!?”
