Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 1074, Can’t Even Win in a Fight

Translator: Silavin

In an instant, every single member of the Tie Family present fell utterly silent, plunged into a state of extreme terror.

No one had anticipated that in just two brief exchanges, a formidable expert of their Elder’s calibre would be cut down by Ye Wuxian in an instant!

This was nothing like what they had envisioned. According to their original plan, with preparations as thorough as theirs, capturing a Level 100 Player like Ye Wuxian was supposed to be a foregone conclusion.

So how on earth was Ye Wuxian this powerful!?

If even the Elder had proven to be not enough, dying so cleanly and swiftly, then what hope did any of the others have?

The moment that thought took hold, panic spread through everyone present, including the Tie Family’s own Player who lured Ye Wuxian here.

He, too, had never imagined this outcome. Not when, mere moments before entering the Flaming Hell Dungeon Instance, Ye Wuxian had been nothing more than a novice who struggled to handle even ordinary Monsters.

Yet now, having returned from the Flaming Hell Dungeon Instance, her power had surged to a degree that defied comprehension!

She had merely Levelled Up past 100, obtained a Level 100 Divine Skill, and acquired a full Equipment Set from the Flaming Hell Dungeon Instance. So, how had her Combat Power exploded to such terrifying heights!?

Could it be the Equipment Set itself?!

That Tie Family Player immediately reconsidered his assumptions.

The Equipment Set Ye Wuxian had obtained was not Epic Grade. It must be Legendary Grade!

The Flaming Hell Dungeon Instance was a harrowing place, and while the probability of a full Legendary Grade Equipment Set dropping was admittedly low, it was not entirely impossible.

One could only say that Ye Wuxian’s fortune was truly extraordinary, that she had actually managed to farm an entire Legendary Grade Equipment Set.

The value of that full suite was beyond what a single Tie Family could measure; it was worth at least three entire Tie Families’ wealth combined.

And yet, even accounting for all that, a single set of Legendary Grade equipment should not have propelled a Level 100 Player to such a staggering degree…

The Tie Family Player could no longer comprehend what was all this.

But, there was one thing he still understood perfectly well.

If he did not run now, he would lose his life.

The Tie Family had indeed made thorough preparations to deal with Ye Wuxian, but even among those preparations, the most substantial amounted to two points.

First, the Array crafted from Razor Peak Mountain, which could restrain Ye Wuxian.

Second, the Tie Family Elder who had come to preside over the operation.

There were other skilled Tie Family fighters present in no small number. However, compared to the Tie Family Elder, they were still a full tier below.

Now that even the Tie Family Elder had been slain by Ye Wuxian, what purpose did any of the others serve by remaining?

If Ye Wuxian could kill the Tie Family Elder, was there any doubt she could kill them as well?!

They would not be able to withstand the scorching blaze of Ye Wuxian’s flames if they stayed here, and being killed was only a matter of time.

As the standout talent cultivated by the Tie Family, this Tie Family Player possessed a sharper mind than the rest.

After a brief moment of terror, he had already grasped the situation clearly and made the single correct decision, run!

Almost instantaneously, he activated his Flight technique and fled in the direction furthest from Razor Peak Mountain.

The Tie Family? He no longer cared about any of that. His own life was the only thing that truly mattered!

At his level of strength, he was considered among the top-tier experts of the Western Border. So long as he concealed his identity, there would naturally be a Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Family willing to take him in as a guest retainer.

Furthermore, if he chose not to pursue further advancement, he could even step out into the wider world and establish his own powerful Force. This would be easy enough for him. And if he fled abroad, seizing control of a small country would not be difficult in the least.

Any outcome beats remaining with the Tie Family, which could only await death!

He had already concluded, with absolute certainty, that the Tie Family was finished.

Never mind being unable to capture Ye Wuxian right now, once she relayed what had transpired today to Lu Fan, what fate awaited the Tie Family was almost too grim to contemplate.

Right now, who could stop Ye Wuxian from killing? That alone was a question no one could answer.

Fleeing was absolutely the correct decision!

Once he made his move, the other Tie Family members stirred one by one, each awakening to the true nature of the existence they had provoked.

A small minority, deeply loyal to the Tie Family, responded instinctively, surging forward, intent on overpowering Ye Wuxian.

But the greater majority of them were not fools. Seeing even the Tie Family’s strongest Player were fleeing, how could they dare linger a moment longer?

And so, seven out of ten Players followed this Tie Family Player’s example, scattering in all directions. They held no intention of returning to the Tie Family Residence.

But they only wanted to run now? That was regrettably, far beyond wishful thinking!

Ye Wuxian had not become Matriarch of the Ye Family by being naive and simple-minded.

Her nature was kind, but that did not make her a Saint. Since others had already made plans to kill her, she was not going to be foolish enough to offer them a path to survival. Since they had sought to kill her, she would inevitably uproot them all, leaving no loose ends to trouble her in the future.

She absolutely could not let any of them go!

An ocean of fire erupted outward in an instant, transforming into an immense prison cage that enveloped everyone present. The flames wove into a net from which there was no means of escape.

Moreover, the flames had seared through the Spatial Principles of the area, rendering Random Teleport Scrolls some had taken out useless. When torn, those Scrolls simply would not activate.

To leave this place, one could only attempt to break through the wall of flames by force. But how could that be anything other than an impossible task?

Ye Wuxian’s flames could incinerate everything. As long as she willed it, the flames would never be extinguished.

Anyone attempting to break out would inevitably be touched by the flames, and even if one managed to avoid immediate death, those flames would keep burning, continuously sapping their Health Pool. It would be an endless, relentless drain until they met their end.

Taking High Grade Potions might keep one barely clinging to life, but what then?

One could hardly spend the rest of their days surviving purely on Potions, enduring the agony of being perpetually scorched by flames. What would be the difference from death?

With the wall of fire blocking every avenue of escape, despair settled over everyone present.

Ye Wuxian’s refusal to leave anyone any way out had driven many to their wit’s end, and the Will to fight her to the death arose in their hearts.

Those who had originally intended to flee turned back and tried to engage Ye Wuxian in combat, only to witness that the three out of ten who had already struck at her earlier were at that very moment being devoured by a towering inferno, consumed to ash amid cries of agony.

Once Ye Wuxian entered her Elemental Form, she became too broken. Her flames were ferociously powerful in their own right, and on top of that, no attack could even touch her. How was anyone supposed to fight against this!?

Watching those dozens of people die just like that, and yet Ye Wuxian remained unscathed, still manifested as a sea of flame sweeping through the Players gathered here, everyone fell into complete despair.

They could not win in this fight. Yet, they could not escape. So, what in the world were they supposed to do!?

Who on earth had told them that Ye Wuxian was merely a Level 100 Player?
