Chapter 848: Chapter 847: Director Fang (3 more updates)

Ever since Chen Yushan obtained her Cultivation, her case efficiency improved dramatically, quickly attracting high-level attention. For this reason, an official from the Imperial Capital even made a special visit to express their concern and support.

Early in the morning, quite a few officers lined up at the entrance of the police station, ready to greet the person sent by the high echelons. Chen Yushan was among them.

”Director Luo, do we really need to wait here this early?” Chen Yushan was somewhat dissatisfied with standing there waiting since dawn.

With this time, she would rather hurry to investigate a few cases!

Her case efficiency had increased during this period because her Cultivation had improved. Though Chen Yushan liked her job and felt it was right to improve her case-solving efficiency, receiving commendations was of secondary importance to her.

”How can you say that? People have come all the way from the Imperial Capital; they’ve endured a long journey, and we should rightfully be here to welcome them!”

Luo Yong chuckled with a very pleased mood.

With Chen Yushan receiving praise from higher-ups, he, as the director, felt quite honored.

Besides, the person coming this time was said to be no small figure—a high-ranking young official from the Imperial Capital Police Department, considered very promising and capable despite their young age.

”Waiting here is just too boring!” Chen Yushan complained.

She was someone who couldn’t sit still. Besides, foolishly standing here, doing nothing, felt like a complete waste of time.

”You all wait here; I’ll go check the case files.”

Waving her hand, Chen Yushan didn’t want to stay outside in the wind anymore and turned back to the police station.

”Hey, this girl, she’s too diligent!” Luo Yong laughed without trying to stop her.

In his view, Chen Yushan’s improved case-solving efficiency was directly proportional to her efforts.

After waiting outside for a while, around ten o’clock in the morning, a small car drove straight toward the station.

Seeing the license plate number, Luo Yong’s eyes immediately brightened, smiling as he went to greet: ”Hello, I’m Director Luo Yong.”

The car door opened, and besides the driver, there was a handsome young man around twenty-three or twenty-four years old.

He was dressed in plain clothes, and the well-tailored outfit made him look just like a dashing gentleman, causing a considerable number of the young male officers to look with a feeling of embarrassment and self-abasement.

”Wow! He’s so handsome!”

The female officers were star-struck, their hearts thumping wildly.

”Hello, Little Luo, I’m Fang Sheng from the Imperial Capital Police Department, you can just call me Director Fang!”

Fang Sheng’s gaze fell on Luo Yong, and there was a slight hint of disdain in his eyes. He reached out and gave him a lukewarm handshake.

Hearing Fang Sheng addressing him, Luo Yong immediately felt uncomfortable.

After all, he was a director himself, and in terms of age and experience, he was above Fang Sheng. Yet, Fang Sheng called him Little Luo, which was rather arrogant!

However, considering that Fang Sheng came from the Imperial Capital and already had such a position at a young age, the backing behind him must be no small matter, so Luo Yong had no choice but to suppress his frustration for the time being.

”Hehe, Director Fang, please this way, come inside for a cup of tea,” Luo Yong forced a smile and made a welcoming gesture.

”Well then, I’ll just take a look around your police station!” Fang Sheng smiled contemptuously and walked ahead into the police station with an arrogant expression on his face.

However, he had the right to be so, not only because Fang Sheng was from the Imperial Capital, but also his current rank was, after all, somewhat higher than Luo Yong’s.

Fang Sheng walked around, occasionally stopping to give comments and opinions, acting the part of an expert.

Watching his smug look, all male officers around looked displeased, while the unmarried female officers were crazy about him, their eyes fixated on Fang Sheng.

Young, handsome, successful, and from the Imperial Capital, this was simply the perfect package for choosing a spouse, no wonder these female officers were frequently batting their eyelids at him.

”Right! Who is Chen Yushan?” Upon arriving at the reception room in the department, Fang Sheng’s gaze swept over the crowd.

Luo Yong said with a smile, ”Yushan is reviewing case files, I’ll call her over right away.”

Hearing that Chen Yushan hadn’t even come to greet him, Fang Sheng’s expression immediately turned sour, ”No need, I’ll go find her myself.”

”Director Fang, Yushan is diligent and devoted to her cases, I hope you won’t hold it against her,” Luo Yong said hurriedly, clearly understanding Fang Sheng’s thoughts.

”Chen Yushan is a model in our police force, why would I mind?” Fang Sheng said with a smile on his face, though what he truly thought, only he knew.

Fang Sheng was specifically here to present a medal and award the title of Outstanding Officer to Chen Yushan.

However, seeing Chen Yushan daring to ignore him, he secretly decided that he would only present the medal; as for the title of Outstanding Officer, she could forget about it!

”Yushan, Director Fang has arrived,” Luo Yong announced with a smile upon reaching the office.

At that moment, Chen Yushan was deep in thought about a case. Being suddenly interrupted, she was very annoyed, tossing down the case files and walking over quite irritably.

Luo Yong pointed at her and said, ”This is Chen Yushan.”

Then he pointed at Fang Sheng, ”This is Director Fang from the Imperial Capital Police Department!”

”Hello,” Chen Yushan said indifferently, clearly impatient.

With just one glance at Fang Sheng, Chen Yushan categorized him as an overprivileged and profligate scion. This guy didn’t wear his uniform to work, and with a frivolous look on his face, it was obvious he wasn’t really capable.

As an excellent officer, Chen Yushan’s observational and judgment skills were naturally reliable, and indeed Fang Sheng had relied on connections to get to where he was now.

”Officer Chen is really beautiful!” Fang Sheng, finally recovering from his astonishment, couldn’t help but exclaim.

The moment he laid eyes on Chen Yushan, Fang Sheng was stunned. Although the Imperial Capital had many beauties, a top-notch woman like Chen Yushan was exceedingly rare in the whole of Huaxia.

”Speak quickly if you have something to say, I still need to work on the case!” Chen Yushan said coldly.

Fang Sheng’s sleazy expression really annoyed her. How could such a vulgar man become a director?

Perceiving that Chen Yushan felt somewhat uncomfortable, Fang Sheng promptly restrained his leering gaze, smiling, ”How about this, Officer Chen, let’s have lunch together. I have some matters I’d like to discuss with you.”

Such a beautiful woman, if he hadn’t met her, it would have been fine, but now that Fang Sheng had, he definitely wouldn’t miss the opportunity!

”No need, I already have plans for lunch,” Chen Yushan directly refused.

Fang Sheng chuckled, ”How about dinner, then?”

”Let’s talk about it in the evening.”

After saying that, Chen Yushan no longer paid him any attention and went back to her desk to flip through the case files.

Seeing this, Fang Sheng didn’t feel embarrassed. He was seasoned in the ways of love and knew that conquering a top-notch woman like Chen Yushan wouldn’t be easy.

”How about this, Director Luo, I’ll be staying in Haishan for a while and also spend some time here at your station for exchange and learning,” Fang Sheng proposed to Luo Yong.

But his real motive for staying was to win over Chen Yushan, and the exchange and learning were just a pretense.

Luo Yong understood this, but he didn’t say much and agreed.
