Chapter 2995. The Voice of...

That being or creature was stronger than him. That was a fact.

He had been unable to even feel the movements in space mana entirely proving that he had no way to resist if that being calling it a spatial song cicada was trying to do anything to him. He also knew that what he saw was more of a manifestation of its own body and not the actual body.

Whether that was his instincts or not, Walker felt that he was unable to properly comprehend a being that was so adapt and perfectly aligned with spatial mana that it could try to create another of its kind.

This also brought out so many questions about how and why some beings might or might not be able to orient themselves within the unknown.

Beings or creatures out in the unknown could be doing more than just fostering or consuming the elemental planes that they discovered.

They could find them and use them to understand certain aspects of that elemental mana. Or they could use them as gardens. Or they could use them as sources of strength and power. The potential uses of all of these things was higher than he wanted to admit and he had been naive to think that some beings would be able to keep their word of protections or promises not to allow harm to come to certain places he had seen already.

There were examples of those he believed to be powerful enough to maintain what they said, but the beings that he saw were certainly not the very top. Who knew where the top even was, or if a top spot in strength was even possible.

There was always the chance that there was more than just what he could imagine. There could be an infinite ladder that they were climbing here.

He also tried to comprehend how some beings could literally be creating their own kind rather than the usual methods of forming.

He knew that there were outliers of races or monsters forming from crystals or from aspects of the world. He also understood that mana itself could condense in to the elemental spirits and potentially those elemental spirits in to the spirit race. Or even in to elementals like within the elemental planes.

Regarded less, there was the chance for them to form and considering one or another to form differently was always a possibility.

Yet, making it a goal to entirely create another of your own kind using experiments and mana itself?

Let alone using an entire elemental plane?

Now that did not seem normal for what Walker could comprehend. Especially if there were other beings within that space elemental plane.

However, he also understood that there was the chance that this was the lifecycle necessary for that being to reproduce.

Create a unique spatial elemental plane that could foster the birth of another. It would explain that the body he saw was not really the body and maybe it was an entirely mana based race or being as a whole.

This could be thought about more and more, but that was not the main focus tht Walker needed to keep right now.

He looked at the very small space elemental plane left behind. The small piece clearly cut form what had once been the average sized to his knowledge space elemental plane that the space dragon had once lived in alone while growing and developing.

He knew that more spatial elemental planes had been added to the first creating a more diverse one. If that had been done so that the space dragon and that spatial elemental plane could grow then he would have had no issue or unhappiness at all. He would have been happier for it since it was being fostered.

This was not the case here.

Instead, he saw a barely hanging on to life weakened space dragon unconscious and confined by the very small spatial elemental plane wrapped around it.

That spatial song cicada, as strong as they were, forcefully isolated this space dragon because it was interfering with what it wished to achieve. While the space dragon had tried to survive, it had been forced in to isolation where it was surely going to perish or be tossed in to the unknown as nothing more than trash or food for something else.

This was even worse science Walker knew that another being strong enough to be out here had given up the word they gave. Whether they fought for it or not did not even seem legitimate. Instead, it was just a price used to pay back that spatial sing cicada.

He caught himself before he let his emotions run amok. He was not someone that could just release his fury here. He did not have to let himself run rampant.

”Come back!” The shout was stressed and angry. Walker could only hear it because he had the ability to use mana to sense and hear here. Normally, the voice of the girl and boy he had brought along and were protected could not reach him since they lacked the skills and mana density within their bodies to reach him, but in his bubble of protected mana and next to the eternal codex, he could easily catch their words.

Without much trouble, Walker brought along the small elemental plane behind him. The space dragon still unconscious and his mind full of worry for what they might be in fear of. Also for what he might or might be unable to do for the space dragon now that his own word had been broken.

”You should be listening to it!” The angry words came right at Walker while the girl tried to grab him but was pushed back by the mana Walker used to keep her safely within the bubble of mana.

”It’s trying to fix itself but it needs more help! Why aren’t you listening!”

Walker grew more confused before the boy looked at Walker and pointed at the girl. ”She said she could hear the voices and that’s what she noticed. I think she is also on a quest now.”

”The voices? Of the dragon?”

”No! You are a dumb hero! You should hear the voice already and it is already hurt so just help it grow again!” She was even angrier and panicked now, but Walker was sure that he was not hearing a single thing. Yet, as the girl began to determination to leave the bubble protecting her and the boy he reached out and placed a hand on her head before feeling that her mana was stirring quite a bit.

He also noticed the slight tremor in her mana that perfectly matched the flow of space mana that the cut off portion of the spatial elemental plane had too.

”You are hearing the voice of a space mana spirit, aren’t you?” she stopped suddenly, her breath caught in her throat.

”You don’t know-”

”I think I know. You were going to craft, and you can craft, I have a good feeling. But you need to bond with the spirit of an elemental plane or mana to be able to craft with what becomes part of them. That is why you are naturally so determined. You don’t have a solid affinity for a mana, you might have an affinity for elemental spirits.”

Walker pulled the space mana around and shared that mana toward the smaller spatial elemental plane. It reacted and grew slightly causing the panicked expression of the younger crafter to smooth slightly. But she clearly was unhappy still.

”I can not perfectly help or fix what was done. But I can try to make it better over time. This space dragon and the space elemental plane will be coming with us. I will be able to hold it sealed while I get experts to learn and be able to nurse the elemental plane back together.”

He tried his best but found that the seal around the elemental plane was already in his control. The spatial song cicada had entirely given up trying to hold it and when Walker reached out earlier it had fallen entirely under his control.

He was not happy to know this but again, this was just what the deal was here. He had to accept that this was what he was involved in now and that he had to see the more negative sides of the unknown sooner than later.

”Let’s move back. We can think and work more later. And you both have your paths to explore. I also want to see what more I can learn.” He had not achieved one of his goals for coming here, but knew that it was a risk and high potential for failure regardless. So, this was also a benefit.

But if he had not come, then what would have happened to the space dragon he had anchored in his mind as a first memory of exploration in these router elemental planes?
