Master Of None

Chapter 2970. Condensed and Understood

”What is he starting to do?” Remey looked over annoyed since she felt like Walker was going to follow his curiosity rather than tell them what he was doing.

He had barely read out loud the appraisal before he had stopped and just started playing with magic. It felt like they had been forgotten!

”He is trying to figure out the seal around that elemental plane and how he can make it solid again.” The casual way that Gil said this was like he knew more about what was going on than the others.

Even Su glanced at him with curiosity on her face.

”What? That’s what I would do. If I can seal the whole elemental plane, then the purple lightning can be taken back in the same way that we carried over other things. He might even be able to make it another multi dimensional storage space that he could use to house that mana and let someone learn it.”

He was making sense and that got on Remey’s nerves since she had believed that Gil would be the last to understand whatv Walker was doing. But it seemed that all the training he did with Walker was also starting to show off the thoughts that they had shared with one another. Gil was also basically a brother to Walker, so why wouldn’t he know what Walker was thinking to some degree.

In the meanwhile, Walker had made contact with the damaged rune formations making up the dealing. It was very different from the skill he gained that he did not fully understand yet.

The ability to seal and control elemental planes was unique but it was not something that Walker could easily use without more knowledge and strength in terms of the mana within such an elemental plane.

This sealing rune formation was also various runes that had no natural formation. It did not come to be normally but was like an old ancient rune formation damaged by time that he would find within ruins instead of out here in the unknown.

It also felt like there was a piece to the rune formation that had at one point condensed this entire purple lightning elemental plane in to a smaller size, but it had been lost.

The pieces were still there.

Bits of magic that he could sense but were clearly damaged and needed attention. It was like a children’s book, softly drawn in charcoal pencil so that they could learn to trace the lines and better draw or to use paints to make a colorful picture while not wasting their time trying to use their clumsy fingers to draw something more realistic that wouldn’t come out the way that they wished it to come out.

As such, Walker was inspired and began providing mana to the broken pieces. Connecting them and using the little of what he could know and learn here together.

For him, it was more like a puzzle.

As such, the more that he used his mana to pull bits closer and create the form of the runes he believed they should take, the more changes that appeared.

To the others, it seemed like Walker was carving runes himself, but they could sense that was not the case. They all understood that the ruen formations and ruen carving that Walker knew were not advanced enough to manage what they were seeing.

They also understood that his instincts and the influence of time mana certainly was playing a part here. Simply because they knew what it looked like when Walker had these moments and how he would become super focused. Especially since he often tapped in to some instinctual aspects of the origin race, exactly what he was.

The growth he showed while doing this started to show too, Su noticed the draw of manas around them being pulled in to energize Walker’s actions which was similar to his meditation within the world too. But Gil reacted a little more dramatically since he had spotted what else was being attracted.

”Three incoming monsters. They look like fish, or eels?” He pulled out an appraisal scroll made for monsters specifically and read it out loud. His eyesight proved to be even better.

’Black knife fish

Attracted by larger amounts of mana within the chaotic space between elemental planes, these monsters are known for hunting anything with dark mana affinity. They are attracted to larger mana areas since they often find prey around them. They also will inject dark mana to decay other monsters so that they attract more dark mana before they feast.

They are quick and will burrow in to rotting prey if they are threatened making their bodies sharper fins and design reminiscent of a knife.

They do not enjoy being in larger groups for their own kind since they will become territorial for the females they keep around...’

Gil wielded his bow and pulled at the mana around them creating an arrow of light. He knew that this might deter them, but also that he could test his strength here where the mana was thinner.

Then again, he felt this all moving easily for him. The damage he had taken by pulling on the chaotic manas seemed to have smoothed the skill he would normally use and even make it easier as a whole to pull mana toward him.

Like the chaotic mana had given him a more open mind to the less chaotic or the calmer orderly manas too.

”One...” He murmured as the arrow shot through the space between them in an instant. The light sped through piercing the tail end of one of the black knife fish. It flailed but then targeted Gil as it had not been killed. It was over three feet long so a tail wound could be dealt with. But the burning of light mana, that caused chaos within its body as the dark mana recoiled.

This was why the other two black knife fish darted away from it leaving it behind until it was able to gather its wits again and focus on Gil. Su and Remey focused on the incoming monsters too.

Midnight however, she moved near Walker and watched as the purple lightning was condensed. As the seal was repaired and as Walker clearly gained more understanding of his own skills while changing the very form of what the purple lightning elemental plane was.

It had degraded and become nothing like a proper elemental plane. Nor was it a sealed anything properly. If anything had actually lived within it, they had fled or perished. Any real materials developed here had turned in to just mana or drifted away in to the chaotic space.

Meaning that this was just mana partially trapped and trying to escape elsewhere.

Meaning that Walker was just capturing literal lightning in a bottle so to speak.

Midnight understood this and also felt that the purple lightning around them that had been dissipating was becoming more solid. That she could also sense what elemental manas made it up and that if she kept watching she might grasp more. That she might be able to better understand how it worked and what would come from it existing in this way.

”The mana isn’t going to become an elemental plane again. So help me store it away and we can bring it out to teach others.” Walker spoke and Midnight knew exactly what he wanted.

She had a bond with him and so she did not doubt that she could contribute her mana and also help him. They had worked together before and easily could match their manas together.

It was just a desire and a moment to match their breathing and flow. As such, Midnight moved to the opposite end of the condensing lightning mana and felt that Walker had been building up a seal only needing the mana as glue to link it all together and lock things in.

Just a small touch pushed everything together like the clicking of gears in a dwarven golem.

A perfect meshing that came about when she became the extra dragon force that pushed everything toward Walker, who gasped slightly as a new weight was pulled in and the seal was brought in to his body alongside the other storages he had.

The multi dimensional storage taking every bit of mana and balancing it within him.

The unique storage also takes some purple lightning and causing what he could only call the first thunderstorm he had even believed to exist within a storage space happened.

The stunning appearance of weather was only a small piece as Walker began to understand he had taken a major step in creating a more unique multi dimensional storage using manas in balance to create a new form. Something he had been missing and now had.

A hint to becoming more closely tied to the origin race than what he had been a breath before this one.
