Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

“Forget it, I don’t want to get too close to a dangerous plane like that.”

To Lin Ye, the Emerald Capital was even more dangerous than the Red Sea. After all, he was a flesh-and-blood creature, not a plant.

“I think that’s a good call too. Is there anything you need to do today?”

The young girl asked casually.

“I want to study the Spiritual Energy Mental Energy Mixed Protective Field at the Civilization Tower, or find a place in the mental world to plant a Seed of Spirit. Of course, if you have other plans, I can do those things later.”

Lin Ye was eating fruit. Truth be told, he didn’t really like venturing into the mental world. It operated on different rules from the real world, making it extremely dangerous.

“I don’t have other plans, but the Civilization Tower has been in an unstable state lately. If you don’t want to get caught up in it, you’d better stay away from there. As for finding a place to plant the Seed of Spirit, I suggest you use that Boat Ticket—it’ll be safer.”

The young girl could also send Lin Ye’s consciousness into the mental world, but her actions would affect him. The places they ended up were usually troublesome spots, making it hard to plant the Seed of Spirit.

“Then what should I do today?”

Lin Ye didn’t want to waste the Special Ability. This one seemed pretty useful.“If you don’t want to go straight back, I can send you into the Dreamrealm. A team’s heading into the depths of the Dreamrealm to mine recently. You can tag along and snag a few Dreamstones.”

The young girl flashed a very friendly smile.

“Aren’t the depths of the Dreamrealm dangerous? And what exactly are Dreamstones?”

Lin Ye could tell her smile was up to no good.

“If you go deep into the Dreamrealm alone, it’s easy to get lost and never find your way out. But if you go with a big group, especially with a navigator, it’s not that dangerous. Dreamstones are special materials that only form deep in the Dreamrealm. They have many uses. For example, you can use one directly to create a dream world entirely under your control. You can do anything in that world, like having a controlled lucid dream, until the Dreamstone’s power runs out and the dream ends. You can also sustain it long-term by replenishing Dreamstones. Someone used this method to create a city of dreams that’s lasted thousands of years.”

And that was just the simplest use of Dreamstones. For someone like the young girl, they could even use them to create a special area that influenced the real world.

“Then Dreamstones must be incredibly expensive.”

Plus, any place where Dreamstones could be mined had to be insanely dangerous. Otherwise, they’d have been dug up long ago. Even if they regenerated, the mining sites would be controlled by powerful factions.

“Exactly. Because of the dangers of the Dreamrealm, the price of Dreamstones has always stayed high. Every so often, someone organizes a large group of miners to go deep into the Dreamrealm and dig for them. But very few make it back.”

Before, the young girl had been unable to interfere with the outside world, so she’d never participated in such operations. This time, she’d specially slipped a dinosaur host into that team. If it survived, great. If not, no big deal.

“I don’t want to join some dangerous activity like that.”

Just hearing the location, Lin Ye knew this gig was sketchy.

“This time’s different. It’s an operation led by a major organization, and many factions have sent people to get in on it. It’s hard to say how long it’ll last, but going deep into the Dreamrealm shouldn’t be an issue.”

That’s why the young girl wanted Lin Ye to go and dig up some Dreamstones. As long as he pulled out faster than the others, there shouldn’t be a problem.

“This isn’t the same organization that held the Fishing Competition last time, is it?”

Lin Ye felt a sense of déjà vu.

“Of course not. But be careful in the Dream World. There are a lot of extremely dangerous things in the depths of the Dreamrealm. Still, as long as you know when to stop, you should make it back safely.”

The young girl pulled out a pure black book from beside her. The cover looked like a pitch-black abyss, as if you could reach your hand inside it.

“How do I mine Dreamstones? How do I come back?”

Considering the trouble he was already in, Lin Ye decided to take the job.

“The quality, form, and method of extraction for each Dreamstone are different. It’s a bit complicated to explain. In simple terms, you crack the dream. That shouldn’t be hard for you. I’ll pull you back in two hours, but I can’t check on the situation there, and I don’t know the time flow over there. If something goes wrong, you’re on your own.”

Since she couldn’t leave the asylum, the young girl couldn’t interfere in the depths of the Dreamrealm either. At most, she could pull Lin Ye out.

“Alright. I’ll try to dig up as many as I can.”

Lin Ye took the black book and opened the first page.

…………………………………………

Clang-clang, clang-clang, clang-clang, clang-clang…

Lin Ye was jolted awake by the clattering noise. He felt like he’d been asleep for a long time, and for a moment, he couldn’t figure out where he was.

‘Right, I was sent here to mine. Is this the depths of the Dreamrealm?’

Lin Ye looked around. He found himself sitting in a compartment on an old-fashioned train. The compartment was empty except for him, and he could hear the sounds of the train running in his ears.

Outside the window, it was pitch black, with not a single ray of light.

Lin Ye didn’t open the window, nor did he sense what was happening outside the compartment.

He wasn’t using his usual dinosaur host. Instead, it was a dinosaur host that looked human on the surface.

But even though this human was male, he looked a bit effeminate.

The young girl wouldn’t do anything unnecessary. This appearance probably represented some kind of identity.

Otherwise, he probably wouldn’t be sitting alone in this upscale compartment.

‘I wonder how long until we start mining.’

Lin Ye sensed the silver ring on his finger. It was a spatial equipment item infused with some kind of material. He had to put the mined Dreamstones inside it to bring them back when he left.

This was the only spiritual energy item he had on him.

Knock, knock.

Someone knocked on the compartment door.

“Come in.”

Lin Ye stared out the window. He felt like something was watching him from outside.

“Excuse me, sir. The train is about to arrive at the station. Is there anything you need?”

A man in a train attendant’s uniform opened the door and looked at Lin Ye with a probing gaze.

“I don’t like wasting time. Do you know the consequences of interrupting me?”

Lin Ye still looked out the window, speaking in a calm voice.

“S-sorry!”

The train attendant lowered his head, no longer daring to look at Lin Ye’s almost beautiful profile. Cold sweat trickled down his forehead, his heartbeat grew louder and louder, and he gasped for air as the feeling of suffocation grew worse.
