Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

The train arrived at the station, and Lin Ye chose a carriage far from those tendrils to board.

After boarding, Lin Ye kept staring at the contaminated carriage in the distance. If those tendrils showed any unusual movement, he would immediately get off.

Actually, he could have waited for the next train arrival, or even waited through several more train arrivals until he encountered a completely safe train.

But there was another possibility - as time passed, abnormal occurrences on the trains might increase.

So Lin Ye didn’t continue waiting.

Seeing that the tendrils showed no unusual movement, Lin Ye found a seat near the door and sat down. This train looked not much different from an ordinary subway train, except that above its doors only the current station was displayed, without the name of the next station.

Current station: Madhouse.

After a short while, a sharp warning bell sounded from the train’s broadcast system. When the bell stopped, the doors automatically closed, and the train slowly started moving.

Just as the train started moving, a man wearing a train attendant’s uniform with a stiff smile abruptly appeared before Lin Ye.

The attendant extended his right hand wearing white gloves toward Lin Ye. Lin Ye shuddered - his powerful mental energy was warning him that the attendant before him was extremely dangerous.Lin Ye knew what the other meant. The attendant naturally wanted to check his ticket. The problem now was which ticket he should hand over.

Lin Ye had three tickets total. The destination stations on these three tickets were Stomach, Silent Land, and Death Ground respectively.

With the attendant present, after handing over the ticket, he would likely only be able to get off at the corresponding station, and would need to obtain other tickets at that station to board again.

Lin Ye first eliminated Death Ground.

This station sounded extremely dangerous just from its name.

After half a second of consideration, Lin Ye took out the ticket marked Silent Land and placed it in the attendant’s hand.

The attendant picked up the ticket, glanced at it, then put it away and turned to leave.

After walking a few steps, the attendant disappeared.

Just as the attendant disappeared, Lin Ye suddenly saw the glass opposite him move slightly.

Lin Ye focused his attention on the glass and discovered it wasn’t the glass moving, but rather a layer of dark red flesh membrane growing on the glass.

Only then did Lin Ye realize that the pain in his right arm was gone.

Lin Ye abruptly stood up from his seat. The orange prison uniform was torn, and a layer of flesh membrane that had enveloped part of the uniform and his skin remained on the seat.

’Damn, when did this happen?!’

Lin Ye glanced at his left hand where a layer of skin had been torn off, leaving it bloody and mangled. Until now, he hadn’t felt anything wrong with his left hand.

No pain, and it didn’t affect normal use.

Not just his left hand - all the exposed skin on Lin Ye’s back had lost a layer of epidermis, including his neck and the back of his head.

If examined closely, one could see a layer of constantly wriggling fine red hairs growing on the wounds.

Lin Ye hurriedly left this gradually darkening carriage. The flesh membrane that had already covered the carriage and the tendrils growing from it didn’t obstruct him.

But as Lin Ye ran forward, more carriages became contaminated by the flesh membrane, turning into carriages wrapped in the membrane.

Seeing this situation, Lin Ye suddenly stopped in his tracks. As he stopped, the flesh membrane’s erosion of the train also ceased.

’Am I causing it to erode other carriages?’

As the flesh membrane’s erosion of the carriage gradually increased, tendrils began wrapping around Lin Ye’s body, trying to pull him into the membrane.

Lin Ye had no choice but to bring the contamination into the next carriage, continuing to compress his living space.

Just as Lin Ye contaminated the seventh carriage, the train’s broadcast suddenly sounded.

Next station: Botanical Garden.

Passengers preparing to disembark, please get ready.

The train began to slow down. Lin Ye looked toward the platform and discovered this station was already covered by a large number of plants of various shapes.

Lin Ye carefully observed the details of the exposed parts of the platform and recalled the architectural style of the station entrance for comparison. Finally, he concluded this wasn’t the station he was looking for.

Even if this were that station, Lin Ye didn’t think he could successfully disembark here, since the ticket he gave the attendant was marked Silent Land.

Lin Ye continued changing carriages. If the time between station arrivals remained unchanged and the contamination speed didn’t accelerate, the remaining carriages would be enough for him to reach two more stations.

While changing carriages, Lin Ye suddenly spotted a pitch-black train ticket on the branch of a plant.

The plant was just outside the carriage not far away, but since the ticket was facing away from the carriage, Lin Ye couldn’t see the station name on it.

Not acting rashly, Lin Ye memorized the ticket’s location.

He hadn’t used up his simulation attempts yet - there was still possibility of clearing this in one go.

After a while, the sharp bell sounded again. When the bell stopped, the doors automatically closed, and the train slowly started moving.

Perhaps because Lin Ye had already presented his ticket, the attendant didn’t appear this time.

The flesh membrane continued eroding the carriages. Lin Ye waited until he could endure no longer before changing carriages each time, but there weren’t many carriages left now.

When the flesh membrane had contaminated all but the last six carriages, the train’s broadcast sounded again.

Next station: Death Ground.

Passengers preparing to disembark, please get ready.

The train began to slow down. Lin Ye looked toward the platform.

”......”

There was no platform outside the train at all. Where the platform should have been was only a bottomless void. Inside the void, there was nothing.

At this moment, Lin Ye could only pray this wasn’t the station he was looking for. Otherwise, he might not be able to complete this simulation task.

The broadcast sounded with a sharp bell. When the bell stopped, the doors automatically closed, and the train slowly started moving.

Because the travel time between stations varied, Lin Ye’s earlier calculations had been off. Now only five carriages remained uncontaminated by the flesh membrane.

Lin Ye could only prolong his endurance time in each carriage. By the time he entered the final carriage, his body was covered with wriggling red fuzz, without a single patch of intact skin.

The flesh membrane began spreading through the final carriage. Lin Ye pressed against the door, constantly tearing at the tendrils on his body, but numerous tendrils continued taking root and growing within him.

Lin Ye gradually lost control over various parts of his body. Just as he was about to completely lose control, the broadcast sounded.

Next station: Silent Land.

Passengers preparing to disembark, please get ready.

The train began to slow down. Lin Ye struggled to twist his body - he had to break free from the flesh membrane wrapped around him to disembark here.

The train arrived at the station, and the doors opened. Lin Ye struggled to crawl out of the train, lying on the platform and writhing his body back and forth like a caterpillar.

During his writhing, minor localized explosions kept occurring throughout Lin Ye’s body. Yellow-brown corrosive liquid sprayed everywhere, corroding the platform’s surface.

Lin Ye didn’t realize what was happening, still shaking off flesh membrane that no longer existed. After one violent shake, his brain exploded.
